Thompson's House is a gigantic nothingness
like, 3/4 of the map is absolutely nothing. ######### did the devs want? survivors to just give up, stand still and wait for the death?

close to the harvester used to be at least one structure. now is nothing in one side, nothing in the other side and, as always, nothing in map middle. is this the kind balanced map devs wish?

It was never balance that they were actively looking for. This game is, and always will be, 100% killer-sided. They've made that clear through continuous nerfing of survivors patch after patch. The ONLY reason they did the ruin nerf is because they knew if they pushed anymore without throwing survivors a bone, even a little one, it was gonna be a ######### show.
I really hope survivors speak with their wallets tomorrow when the rift is released and choose not to pay for it. Paying for a straight-line running simulator just isn't cool.

Yeah, I dont know what exactly they were thinking. The thing is, they said they will look at the Deadzones in a future Update. But this is just stupid, sorry to say it like this. Either there is a full, complete Update or no Update. But releasing an Update with a lot of Deadzones and then, some time in the future (nobody knows when), there will be something done about the Deadzones.
I mean, I am totally fine with removing a Loop from the Thompsons House (2 Pallets there is still really good), also it is fine to change the Structures next to it (those where possible to spawn two Jungle Gyms or a Jungle Gym and a Long Wall). But replacing this with "nothing" is not good. At least T/L-Walls should have been placed there, those are probably the Tiles which are most fair.

Play the game. The devs will see if survivors can’t handle map changes and will do something about it. Play both sides and you’ll get a better idea of what the game needs.

Most of the maps that got updates are full of dead zones. There's practically nothing to work with if you get chased.
Even a baby killer could catch a veteran survivor in these dead zones.

How is it not? Bet you can't answer. I've challenged so many killers in the past few months and not one single killer has been able to provide a reasonable response.

Yeah it looks like they still don't know how to balance their maps. I was hoping that these deadzones would happen because of just bad RNG but it looks like it's intentional.
Pale rose also spawned very little pallets when I played on that map even though it wasn't listed on the patch notes. There was nothing to use in the entire middle are, no pallets.
When they gave that weird answer on the Q&A, it seemed to me like they weren't even aware that they caused most of these deadzones with the latest changes, which is pretty concerning.

Unpopular opinion but I really wish they would just rework Thompson House to be half indoors and create a really cool farm house to represent what the wealth of the Thompson's might have been like considering how large the farm is when you consider all the maps in the realm. Overall I like the changes but still feels really underwhelming. Seems a bit more empty though yeah I'd agree. The changes to the actual house though I like such as the hole in the floor. It could maybe use an unsafe pallet in there somewhere though.

Exactly, I was negative surprised by this answer, but I did not have any concerns so far, until I played today. I got quite lucky with the Maps (if you can call 4 times "The Game" as lucky), but when I got a changed Map sometimes big Deadzones were present. In a KYF I also looked at Coal Tower and basically the Huge area between the Coal Tower and the Pile of Logs was filled with nothing. Usually Boxes and Pallets spawn there, but there was not anything.
On the side there might be spawns of Rocks and Trees with a Pallet, but again - nothing.
So yeah, most likely they were not even aware, but still, nothing wrong with postponing something when you realize a mistake (like too many Deadzones). But this Update feels kinda cheap because of it, especially because nobody knows when something can be done about it.

Okay, here we go.
- Nurse was nerfed to the ground and to compensate the backlash they buffed Doctor and Freddy since the Queen was dethroned.
- Ruin was nerfed with NO compensation, as opposed to toolboxes that were nerfed with at least a speed increase to compensate.
- Nothing was done in the same patch when Ruin was nerfed to compensate any killers. THIS patch should have been the patch that Ruin was nerfed along with the map redesigns, instead they let survivors run rampant.
- There was an enormous Killer exodus on Console and on PC after the Ruin nerf, many of personal killer friends also stopped playing because the gen rush was unbelievable and the "Preparation Phase" of the game had been lost.
- Sound bugs, animation bugs, Nurse bugs, can't hook survivor bugs, can't drop survivor bugs, grab animations aren't registering, haven't been fixed on the killer side that benefit survivors.
- Low ranked killers have been getting paired up with Red Rank survivors for some reason, even though they said, Red Ranks will stay with Red Ranked killers, Purple with Purple and Green with green, instead we have this
You're telling me there are absolutely NO Red Rank killers on PS4 that could have gone against them instead? Or Purple?
Green Ranks should never, EVER go against a Red Rank survivor and before you start your "Well you killed everyone" I'm a Rank 1 killer that hardly plays killer so I have experience but imagine a new players with 0 experience going against these players.

And to further provide proof that hardly any killers were playing before this patch, here's MY 10 Minute survivor PS4 queue time.
Obviously you don't have to watch 10 minutes of me just waiting there but waiting 10 minutes for a match to start?
THIS further shows that no killers wanted to play during these months and to compensate you get a patch like this. Map reworks, fixed map sizes and loops. The easiest, cost efficient solution to their error would have been to just revert the Ruin nerf back to what it was and that's that.
And please, if you count the Insta-Heal nerfs as actual nerfs, you've got to be joking, because even I thought recovering 2 Health States instantly was a bit overboard and definitely needed a change. Don't give me Exhaustion nerf either because Sprint Burst benefits so much from that nerf.
And to add the cherry on top of the crap covered sandwich, match making will not be fixed and brown, green killers will be facing against Red Ranked survivors until they get a larger playerbase to fill in the loss of playerbase.

It might be time to just cut 90% of RNG. Have set maps other than gens, gates, totems, killer items, and chests. Have all the pallets, windows, obstacles, hooks, loops, etc be the same every time.

1) So they nerf a killer that was overperforming rather easily, especially on PC, and buff two other killers that were underperforming and this game is survivor-sided? In what world does the math there add up to this game being survivor-sided?
2) I'll never understand the ruin argument. Killers bitched all the time about how ruin was cleansed in the first 10 seconds of the game. It only came in clutch in a few games. Despite the ruin nerf, killers are still getting their 4ks. I did ALL of my killer adepts post ruin-nerf and aside from Nurse and Legion, I had little difficulty. Ruin is not necessary. Also medkits/toolboxes/balanced landing have all been nerfed in the last few patches. Killer mains had a "nerf" (I actually like the new ruin better. Especially with Billy) to one perk and suddenly this game is survivor-sided.
3) Killers don't need compensation. They're OP as is. Nobody is under a 2k average. Even the Clown. This means that killers are winning more often than they're losing.
4) This isn't an argument as to this game being survivor-sided.
5) Neither is this.
6) The game is catered to killers, dude. If a killer can't get his 4K then he did something wrong or didn't capitalize on different strategies.
And then you proceed to show me a bunch of pictures of you slaughtering survivors DESPITE the fact that you complained about being in groups of 4 man SWF/Red Ranks and this game is survivor-sided? WHAT? And survivor queue time is gonna be longer because there's probably less survivors playing right now. I'm not playing the game right now in its current state. I can't be alone in that sentiment.

You can complain about it all you want, have fun with the smaller maps, gen changes and NOED still remaining in the game.

I really don't see any deadzones in your images. The loops are further apart, which is good, and in between is corn, which is annoying for everyone involved but definitely good for survivors even with the new corn-row spacing. Now you have to play around the tile you are beside instead of instadropping a mildly unsafe pallet and casually walking to a maze tile.
A deadzone is a large area of the map with nothing to use in them. These are small areas of them map that are filled with corn and connect to maze tiles. Not exactly 'nothing to use'.

I have. And it was one of the worst experiences of my life. It took me two whole days to get my adept Nurse and I don't even wanna think about how long it took me to get those 100 downs.

Have you ever played Killer on a corn map against sentient survivors? It's REALLY hard to keep track of the little buggers if they don't run in a line

Then how can you even come close to saying she was "easily" overperforming? The god-tier Nurses that slaughter everybody put in an insane amount of practice to build the muscle memory and prediction skills neccesary to counter all the different loops in the game. They most definitely deserve every kill they get simply due to the exorbitant amount of work they put in to be able to achieve them. I WISH I could be as skilled at this game as them. I still wouldn't play Nurse though(not a fan of her aesthetic)

Run rampant lmao. I'd much rather the killer waste a perk slot on ruin against my team. Either we just power through it with greats or we instantly find it so we can get our boosts. Ruin was a weak perk against good teams and, like NOED, is just a potato masher.

Which is straight stupid. Imagine you have 4k hours, played since release and know every little trick. And then you get bodied by a baby killer with just 100 hrs just because the game is unbalanced. What a feeling this must be. This game is sooo stupid in so many ways

I'd agree, but when they weren't facing "your team" Ruin was efficient at keeping at least 2 people off gens and 1 being chased.

Someone made a comment earlier about how survivors just need to get better at looping now, No more abusing broken structures, now you have to work to link multiple structures together.
I can see their point now. You’re sure as hell going to have to do some work to link structures together when they’re 40m apart.
Just remember Hillbilly is balanced because you can loop him. Sure he will be on top of you before you can get to any structure but just loop him ya know?

Let's compare this with the same complaints Killers made when the Ruin was nerfed.
The update was poorly implemented/not complete and at a bad time.
A future update is expected to compensate for it.
If you replace 'deadzones' with ruin it really feels like the same thing happening again. The only thing missing was a Dev update clearly biased but that's an improvement at least.

- Almost every time something on the survivor side is nerfed, trade offs are given in return. For example - balanced landing was changed to a full on exhaustion perk, and in return was given the silent drop. Killers are hardly ever given something in return. They just lose things for the most part.
- Literally everything on the survivor side takes a higher priority on the fix list than killer. Example over the last 4 years being the countless times sounds have been broken (which has notoriously had a much larger negative effect on killers). Sounds are broken with almost every major patch, as well. For a more recent example, the Wraith and Spirit's post-cloak/phase lunge was completely broken (which in turn leaves them largely broken as killers), and took months to fix. DS was broken after the Doctor rework. Was fixed in a couple of days. GOD LOOPS like ironworks window etc have only NOW just been fixed.
- Freddy was nerfed into the ground within 2 days of him releasing, and it took them ALMOST TWO YEARS to fix him.
- The DS nerf turned out to be a buff.
- While both sides have second chance perks/addons. Survivors have them on a much wider scale.
Just to name a few things. I'm sorry you're wrong.
Tell you what, come up with some things about survivor that make them legitimately underpowered vs killers. Keeping in mind this is a 4v1 asymmetrical PVP game and survivors SHOULD be the inherently weaker role, you tell me what about survivor is underpowered vs killer. "I bet you can't".
