Freddy
Freddy is such a top tier no skill required killer that when I get the dream chaser ritual, which I don't even know how to get the dream chaser counter because every time I play freddy I get it on my first try, I immediately trash it for anything else, bc I am not interested in owning a bunch of survivors with an op killer. Pls discuss.

I'll just copy and paste what I said on another thread:
Facing Spirit and Freddy is fun, they actually pose a challenge to me as a Survivor. The only reason people don't like going against them however is because their power sometimes requires you to put more effort in than the killer themselves. And I feel like that's how facing a strong killer should feel like. How a strong killer should be. You need someone who understands Spirit and how she plays to counter her, to fool her during a loop or to beat her when she is faking her phase. And you need someone who constantly keeps Freddy busy and tear down his Fake Pallets and Snares so it'll be easier when being chased by him again.
It's not a 1v1, it forces Survivors to try be a 4v1. In a thread I made a while back, DBD right now feels like a 1v1v1v1v1 and I am very bothered by that. It's why I think playing Killer is easy right now, because solo survivors typically don't play the game as if it is a 4v1. It's a free-4-all.
Freddy forces a second objective, the Alarm Clocks, they force the survivor to choose either being vulnerable while asleep or risking waking up so it'll be easier for him to be chased around the map without the risk of being snared for 90 seconds. That's a full generator if you could keep Freddy busy for that long. Unless he can hit you during that duration, he is an M1 Killer. The game itself made it clear that staying asleep is horrible for you, that staying asleep is not advisable, that you should wake up when you can or wake up when it's no longer safe to be asleep.
As long as you are good enough you can keep Freddy busy before he even has a chance to use his power, he can waste 2 generators before he is even able to use his power on you if you start off wide awake. His Ultra Rare Add-ons are actually worth to use unlike certain other killers, and that's how Ultra Rare Add-ons should feel like. They should immediately feel like the Killer has a more crushing pressure from the start, and Survivors need to work harder to get out and escape.
And before anyone asks, I don't main Freddy, I suck at him. I don't know how to play him effectively. But I do know as a Survivor I always cheer whenever I see the clock at the bottom left of my screen. Because I want to see more killers like him, strong and effective, and forces me and my teammates to work harder to escape. To think differently to how we counter him compared to other killers.
Anyways, now that this is over, I'd like to also mention.
I know I am probably the odd one out here, I know the popular opinion is that Freddy is overpowered or braindead. But I feel like mentioning something.
Not everyone wants to play Survivor against a Killer they can easily understand and counter. Some of us actually want to feel like we earned our escape, to sometimes sacrifice others or yourself so that some of the group may escape. If Freddy is overpowered and braindead, then the Freddy killers I have been facing must be really braindead because they haven't been able to easily get more than 2 kills. But then again, that is just my experience.

Well killer mains seem to have this thought etched into their skulls that survivors don't like playing against Freddy because he's a strong killer when that is literally not what people are saying at all. You can have a strong killer that's also fun to play against. What's fun about Freddy? Drop the pallet early, run to the next one, get snare spammed and bloodlusted and go down...wow what an amazing and interactive experience.

There is no Strong Killer that is fun to play against because most of them aren't Strong. People like playing against Demo because 1) he's the watered down version of Freddy and 2) people hardly see him. The more you go against a character or play a character, the more bored you get of it. Drop a pallet early? Wow, that's like nearly every Killer you face like Clown, Doctor, Pig, Huntress, DeathSlinger, etc.

He is easiest Killer to get Deviousness on because I believe just hitting a Survivor who is awake triggers the event.

I'm pretty sure that only procs if you hit them after you teleport.

Freddy isn't that op. He's easily outsmarted as long as you don't go running around the map trying to get out of sleep state and stay hidden.

You don't think Billy is strong? Idk about you but I enjoy playing against Billy and Huntress much more than Freddy. I see these two killers more than Freddy, and to top it off I believe they're much stronger than Freddy. Hag and Clown I almost never see but I still don't think they're fun, because imo their core design and abilities, along with Freddy, are really boring. Demo has a fun ability and feels fair, and is also a strong killer. Idk why people aren't playing him more, maybe because he takes more effort than other killers but if more people did start playing him I wouldn't get tired of it.

Freddy's abilities require no skill to use. I think that's the problem most players got with him.

Survivor abilities require no skill

I'm pretty sure even with a low skill threshold you can still beat him. Quite easily in fact.
I don't have screenshots like I usually do, but the last couple of (Snares) Freddy I faced in Red Ranks wasn't too happy I was running Object of Obsession comboed with Windows of Opportunity.
Plus, as I've mentioned in my previous post, I feel like strong killers like him should stay that way. A killer should not have to put in 4x the amount of effort in an Asymmetrical game. It needs to be challenging, but not downright brutal and unforgiving as well as hopeless to have a chance to win. It's why some people disregard playing Killer because of how stressful select games have been, while the majority of them tend to be on the easier and relaxing side.

Really good points made here, seriously, all other killers who aren't top tier for the most part really have to rely on Survivor mistakes to do well.
Both Freddy and Spirit are more difficult to chase, but it's completely possible to waste enough time (even if you get downed!) to help out the whole team. Dcing as soon as one of them downs you does make them seem op; good way to make the killer have a lot more pressure.

Object is a hardcounter to half of the killers and medium against stealth killers. It's just like: "I can take a mori and 4k with legion." Yeah, doesn't push legion to S tier.
Anyway, maybe there's a way to increase freddys skillfloor while keeping or even increasing his skillcap?

Just a quick thought: Maybe give Survivors a chance to wake up during a chase?

Maybe something like: "After interacting with more than 2/3/4 snares/fake pallets you wake up automatically."
Would keep freddy as strong as now, but would keep him from snarelusting and spamming snares everywhere. Would also lower the power gap between snare and pallet freddy.

Freddy is the most OP killer in the game currently with a nearly 4k average. He's no risk, high reward as he shuts down loops easily, can teleport straight to survivor objectives and shut them down immediately after just a hook which doesn't even take long, and then just wash/rinse/repeats his way to an easy 4k. He does way more than other killers too. He shuts down everything leaving little to no counterplay. Freddy needs a nerf and anyone that says otherwise is just a Freddy main.

Honestly, my problem with Freddy is not Freddy himself, but the perk + addon combos that people FREQUENTLY use on him. I don't mind Freddy because he's basically just an M1 killer, but nearly every Freddy that I go up against is using double jumprope + Sloppy Butcher + Thanataphobia + Pop + BBQ/Discordance (maybe Dying Light thrown in there somewhere) and it makes playing against him a pain.... but not just a pain.... BORING as heck. And not only that, Freddys also seem to love camping, tunnelling and slugging more than the average killer. And this is in red/purple ranks, too.... very sad.
I'm not an entitled survivor main, I don't want Freddy to be nerfed at all, nor do I think he's busted, but the giga-slowdown build needs to be addressed because it runs rampant in the high ranks and it just makes for cheap, boring games. I would love to go against REAL Freddys who use actual skill rather than cheapo combos to locate and stop survivors. And I'm also tired of killers picking Freddy just because a random TTV gamer is on my team 😤

from another thread
people defending Freddy when Trapper, Hag, Clown, Huntress, and most others all have a risk to using their power, especially in a chase/at a pallet
Spamming snares and holding W in not skill, its the game playing itself for you

Freddy is far from OP, he is actually really balanced
A difference exists between Annoying and OP, while Freddy is top tier he is easily countered by waking up whenever not being chased and getting away from his traps as much as possible

survivtards always complain if you tunnel them... but it makes sense to get one out or you get in multi gen loops while 3 work unhindered. the more you kill before gens are complete the better.
survivtards are the saltiest if you target them, if you patrol around the hook to hit a rescuer they say ur camping. if you lay snares around the hook and move to gens they say ur spamming.
they want every opportunity to sandbag you, pallet camp, endless loop ect but cant handle having to actually devise a new tactic
like serious if you want the game to be super easy so you can escape every match whats the point of being a killer
and stop the in chat abuse, go #########, your dogshit, pay to win ect…I expect better from players who are ranked but often they are the worse.

It all depends on the Killer's playstyle. There is Forever Freddy (as annoying as Forever Legion and I'm a Freddy Main myself), or the more "classic" approach (like BBQ, Pop, Discordance, STBFL/Brutal). There is a difference if, you use pallets or snares (I use only pallets).
Freddy is strong but he's just an M1 killer you can mindgame. I know snares can be bah, but at least you know that pallet there is real. He's challenging to go against, and this is what it should be against all the killers.
What do you think makes Forever Freddy so strong? Because most people do not know what to do.

I personally prefer fake pallets. Once I know he's a fake pallet Freddy I quickly memorize what's real and what's not and have no issues smashing them on the way to the next gen. If pallets were base and snares were the add-on I think it'd be a bit more fair.

I think so too, but there is some Maps like Lery's were there's really few "blank spots" to pre set a fake pallet. Most times you'll need to eat through them, wich can be a bit meh. If pallets are positioned so that there is always some "blank spots" like 3-4 on every map, it would be great.
I usually use one of the add-ons with aura reading, so i get information on where you are, when destroying my things :) some times I just use them as tracking tool. Much like Trappers traps, where you have "silent" and "loud" ones.
Pallet Freddy can be tricky if you go to an area where you haven't been before falling asleep. Like in a chase. I've seen so many people wasting the real pallet because they thought it was fake.
