The hook change is awful
why make it like this
i thought i would auto-kill on second stage, but not letting people try for the 4% is stupid

I think its more to just skip the time for the inevitability. If the killer hooks you, and everyone else is on the hook already, but its yout first time. Yeah you "could" 4% off the hook, but any good killer who sees its your first hook would just sit there waiting for you to hit struggle, wasting time.
And even then, say hes there watching and you jump off, they'll just slap you down on the ground again, then have to wait out the 60s for the potential ds, whilst also sitting on top of you waiting for the potential unbreakable.
If everyones on a hook at once, its a wash, odds are so stacked that you're all dead that its better to just save the time
