Dc Penalties
I 100% respect the decision of the dc Penalties, but if your wifi goes out and come back with a 15 min ban shouldn't be a thing. If you're disconnected from the game due to network failing all of a sudden, and you get a ban I think it's the most absurd thing ever.

This issue unfortunately is at your end.
There is no way for the game to tell if you cut WiFi intentionally or not so in your example the dc penalties are working as intended otherwise there would be no point having them at all since players could just pull the cord from any machine bypassing them.
The only thing that needs worked more on in in terms of dc penalties are when it is down to the game itself and not something at your end.

First off let me say i am on ps4. So unless you know the way the game is on console please refrain from making any comments that only pertain to pc.
There is no point in having them until the game is balanced and its left to skill not unbalanced mechanics. Im at rank 12 and i am forced to face 3 red ranks and a rank 18, if i dc because its no fiun to me to get annihilated and then be toxically abused the rest of the match, just because they can. I get penalized because I'm fed up with the unfairness of the game, survivors dc and complain the game gets changed around their complaints. Its one thing when a survivor is playing recklessly and gets downedThen dcs, but when a killer goes into a match expecting it to be at their rank and hoping it to be fair and balanced,(and it seldomly ever is.)They get pitted against a scummy team of red ranks with that on rank 18 smurf account Why should i be penalized for them exploiting the swf matchmaking mechanic? Before anyone say it, it is not scaled to highest rank in swf if it was i would never see red ranks. There should at least be a timer to reset Back to 0 i haven’tplayed in 24 hours and im sitting at 30 minute ban period. Considering one of those dcs were from a game bug i have it posted in bug report. Seriously staying at a 30 minute penalty You should have a way to reset it as in amount of completed matches or a time like 24 hours.

Whether you rage quit or your equipment pooped the bed on you, the result is the same and four other people's game got ruined.
I'm sorry you got punished for something out of your control but the game has no way to tell the difference and ultimately the end result is still 4 people got their game ruined because your wifi sucks.

Not to mention how many times have the community managers said connection errors and network issues are due to their backend servers...

The platform doesn't matter when it comes to pulling to cord. Also I never mentioned a platform in my post.
What it comes down to is you are not enjoying the game being matched with higher ranks which comes down to fun. The issue with this is the game has many thing players deem not fun so legitimising any form of dcing for what players think is not a good idea. It's a huge part if the reason dc punishments are in the game as players would dc for anything they did not find fun.
The only issue I have stated many times which does need worked on is when the game has issues as these should not give the player a punishment.
Match making is also being worked on as fight how it's in a really bad state.
The bottom line though is playing the game is a choice and one which we make knowing what can and may happen. We can also choose not to play until it is fixed. The latter being the better option if you feel that way as dcing regardless ruins the game for all the others involved who did nothing other than click play themselves.
Dcing has been a blight on the game for well over a year. The amount of dcing has dropped dramatically since these were implemented which can only be better for the community as a whole. While its not perfect it is still better than what we had.

first of all the first time you dc is a 5 minute penalty. if you're getting a 15 minute penalty then you've already used the simple one and now are on to others. DONT DC and your wifi issue would show nothing after you get back because it'd be over...
second of all, it doesn't matter the platform anyone who is using something that can be cut by a multitude of things is asking for some dc's at some point, which then re-iterates the idea of not intentionally DC'ing to limit how many times it happens. I don't care how many times you do it, once is enough unless it is because the match is 100% bugged you are caught in the geometry so that the game won't end, or the movement is bugged where you can't leave or move and again the game can't end.
Also as to a network failure, you could be hard wired, and pull the ethernet cord and that's a "network failure" but it would require indepth investigation that'd take several days in reading the specific network connections to know if it was a true failure or someone just pulling the cord. obviously we don't have days to discover this... so we have what is there. it's regrettable that some failures will cause this but if you do your best to keep your connections right, you'll be better off and not get lots of time.

Yeah had a day where my wifi went out multiple times in one day when I was trying to play. Grinded my gears so much

Its not even that the fact that this game is so unbalanced there should be no penalty until what causes the issues like swf being broken op uncounterable and unfun to play agains server side issues that we as the player are being told its our fault. The game needs to be fixed instead of forcing people to play or be punished when either the match gives me all red ranks as a rank 12 killer, where is that even close to being fun.

There is no excuse for punishing people when the game is so unbalanced and broken. They are forcing us to play or be punished and i didnt go fro 5 to 15 minutes i went fro 5 to 30. Fix the damn matchmaking and killers wouldnt have a reason to dc. This game wont see another 4 years if it keeps going the way it is. Instead of fixing the issues that are causing the problem we get punished for the incompetence of the devs not knowing what they are doing. They should have stuck to their Disney Princess games. Also so you are saying devs are too lazy to do their job right by making sure the players arent getting wrongfully punished for backend server dcs.... riiight... I wonder if behavior has ever heard of consumer rights?

@KrazyAce13 ill say it first wifi disconnects is unfortunate but are a thing. 2 most people when they lose feel cheated and umm call it unbalanced.
that said you KNOW what you are playing and everything in this game from BT and swf and gen rushing to moris keys noed and stbfl are all fair game along with camping and tunneling.
you choose to play a game that has a broken matchmaking and want to cry like a baby cause it didnt go your way. if you dont like the possible outcomes of the game why play? if its that bad why not just quit?
cause we all know its not also doctor carter has some advice for you

OP, sadly, it's people like this that made the penalty a necessary thing.
If that was your first DC, you should not have had a 15 minute penalty. You must have DC'd on other occasions too. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell a legit DC from a faked one.

thank you for being the poster boy/girl of dbd stupidity and toxicity. Being complacent like you are is why the devs feel they can ######### on us and take our money without consequence. But yeah you keep being a basement troll in your parents house you'll get far. It’s also not a point of getting good idiots like you are seriously why nothing gets done, because you are ok with it being the way it is instead of flexing the rights you have as a consumer. I may need to get good but its better than needing to get smart.

Oh like this lol ok so you feel its ok to force people to play as a rank 12 killer against rank 1 and 2s or a full 4 man swf where it becomes no fun at all. The ######### is wrong with this community being so complacent to the facknthese devs dont give a ######### about you as a player just their wallets .

lol you sir are mistaken..... @KrazyAce13 this isn't the first game with bans and i'm sure it wont be the last.
while i dont care about the fun the other side has (and i probably never will) i do know if you had a 20 min wait time only to have your killer dc say 10 times in a row at start you would probably be on the other side.
you know the game rules... you choose to accept them when you log in knowing you don't care for the state of this game.
how is it their fault you cant use good sense and play a game you enjoy if you don't care for the current balance of the game.
i don't agree with every choice they make but its theirs to make and if i get mad at the game i don't give them any money for products they put out that tends to get there attention faster then just complaining.

I agree, I’ve had weird glitches where it was the game’s fault that i was disconnected from the game (eg. Game crashing or just randomly throwing me out of the game even though my internet is still running perfectly fine)
it can be really annoying especially if you’re in a good game that you’re enjoying

The ironic thing is, the DC ban was made for people exactly like you.
People that will use any excuse in the book to make DCing sound like something they have to do. If you are not willing to be patient about game changes, if you dislike playing the game so much that you desperately want the ability to DC on a whim...perhaps this is not the game for you. Yes the matchmaking system sucks....and yet people are managing while its being sorted out. Killers still win games, and nobody has yet to come up with definitive proof that every game is a 4 man SWF, even in red ranks.
Everyone is annoyed with how long it's taking for matchmaking to be less crappy, but until then those who don't want to wait have moved on to other games, and those that grin and bear it, don't seem to need the magic DC button, and still win games.
The excuses made for the ability to DC are ridiculous and utterly selfish. People abused the old system, this is the new system and its unlikely to change because DC's are overwhelmingly hated compared to those who cry that it isnt fair they can't just exit stage left when things get tough.
It's not going anywhere. Adapt or move on....or you know....just keep insulting people on the forums who disagree with you because I'm sure that'll work out well for you.
1 -
Just because somebody disagrees with your opinion doesn't mean they're "complacent."
For all you know this person could hate the game. Hell, they said "you choose to play a game that has broken matchmaking," so they don't sound like they believe DbD is all happiness and sunshine. Stop trying to twist around somebody's words, honestly. Take a step back and reflect.
You're really quick to judge somebody and mock them while you on the other hand have done nothing but embarrass yourself here by acting like a child.

I agree there are problems and though those problems are not always the fault of the devs. most people that play this game don't know about how networking works, or even how windows works. please not I said most, not all. There are glitches and problems and the DEVS said we should allow the players to have a way to leave a match that could not be completed by the game NORMALLY. Sadly many found this and said "HEY! I don't like how that killer has nodded at me, or that that survivor has a key! I'll use the out of match functionality to get out of this game!" or the survivors who opened the doors, found all totems, searched the chests and found the hatch but never leave the map. Killers have no way to get anyone when they get to this point and go hide, since they are in comms they know where he is and going when someone is near enough to the killer and not be spotted. (the last here is why EGC was implemented)
This game is solid for me 95% of the time, and 4% of the remaining five are because of my computer or network issues out of anyone's control, the remaining 1% is the game itself. not a bad number really. if there are computer errors, i'd look to computer issues before blaming dbd but no one wants to admit that they need to fix their computer or they might be infected by viruses etc. there are issues yes but not like people here say they have without it being an issue of the computer in some way.
Now we get DC penalties to punish those who break the ToS and then people whine about bugs that kick them out once in a while. ALSO think it's their right to ruin other player's matches. sure killing oneself on hook is bad but atleast it's in match functionality. I have heard stories about i got kicked once and got a 24 hour ban, or 15 minutes and what not... it's hilarious when the first penalty is 5 minutes... what have they been doing to get the other timers.... lol....

You probably don't need me telling you this, but you're spot on. Don't listen to the other guy giving you crap.
The moment somebody starts legitimately complaining about rank and blaming it for being the reason they lost, and start declaring that they should be able to be selfish at the cost of others, it's probably a good sign you shouldn't take that person seriously.

You do realize this isnt just on pc right and this game is about 10 times more broken on console than you guys realize.
0 -
I do realize that it is on xbox one and ps4 as well as pc. it is also on mobile. what is the state of the game there? I don't know but the person I was replying to talked about a specific instance and I answered that instance. another said they had wifi issues, this is not something that is unique to console either. It also said nothing of the client in the case of the wifi issues but a connection issue between the console and the servers. now for my response to the clips shown I agreed this is a bug that happens but it happens rarely (but not extremely rarely as i can testify that I have had this issue once in 1.5 years and I have seen it happen to a few others in 1.5 years but not that many personally so I would not deny it happened. Thus I do not deny that there are issues on console but again does not excuse the mentality of "I don't like" X "so I will disconnect." That mentality is what brought upon the Penalties in the first place.

The balance of the game should never be a reason to think dcing should be allowed. This is a player issue not a game issue as the game is what it is with matchmaking for now. As I said it is your choice to play the game knowing this. If you feel this strongly then you can take a break and wait for the match making fixes or move on to another game.
If you dc due to feeling its unbalanced you impact all the other players in that match with points, ranks and shards. Is it fair for them to be hindered or have a less enjoyable experience becasue you decides to play the game? Definitely not and it is that attitude that caused these punishment to be implemented in the first place.
Yes there have been reports of players stating they have been banned for reasons they believe are down to the game. Personally I haven't had any but some bugs are present where a match wont end so they are forces to DC in that instance. Others well we don't know if it's a hardware or a game issue when it crashes. These need fixed imo as no one should be punished when it is the games issue its just we don't know if it is or not most of the time.
A simple way to fix the game not ending issue would be a system where it can check for errors and then allow a dc without punishment while giving all players a goof amount of points without making any of them derank.
For the crashes well I think this needs to be made better so each one gives a report saying what side the crash happened on. Client or server/game issue. PC users can generally get info themselves by going into management and looking into the crash errors but not on console so its hard to pin point any issue so most instinctively blame the game.
Many games have the same issues with these system as none are infallible when it comes to crashes etc but they are constantly working on it. Still its better to have less dc's than let players keep ruining the game and with less dcing they have less reports to go through which in turn cuts down the time finding errors.
