What's the most overpowered killer?

Spirit. She doesn't take any skill to play. Nurse at least takes hours on hours of practice, Spirit can be picked up by a 3 legged dog and still manage a 4k.

  • Remember, this is an opinion.
  • Tell me what killer you believe is most overpowered and why.
  • I understand killers as a whole are at a disadvantage, but there are many killer mechanics that are overpowered, tell me your opinion.

Nurse is easily the strongest. Spirit may be good, even to those who aren't as good as her, but a great Nurse can shut down a match far quicker than a Spirit can ever wish to. I'm personally not good at either, but I'd rather play against an average Spirit than a great Nurse.

    PC: Nurse and Billy

    XBOX: Spirit and Freddy

    PS4: Spirit and Freddy

Honestly I think it is Freddy when you factor in a couple things. He has amazing map pressure, can cut off loops, and is EXTREMELY easy to play. Spirit and nurse are equally as powerful in my opinion but have a much larger skill gap imo.

Well apparently Freddy is getting the most kills according to dev stats.....

    Hag.

    Freddy is Balanced

    Nurse is Balanced

    Spirit is Balanced

Hillbilly why are people even talking about him is Balanced

The only reason that people are not tearing Hag apart is because not enough people play her that she dodges statistic's, but I know of the godly builds you can do on her that ensures the 4k every game - no matter the skill of the survivors.

    Plague.

Deletes stealth. Deletes healing. Turns every match into an infinite tier 3 Myers game. Has an ability that takes absolutely zero aiming skill to use and goes over many obstacles.

I'd rather face literally anything else instead of a Plague.

    Spirit.

Literally has no counter play except acting random and hoping she doesnt hear you or see the grass or corn moving .

Also you jabril to run 2 perks just to even have a chance at beating her .

  • Survivors.

None of them are OP in my opinion

For example, I suck horridly as Spirit, Freddy, and Billy

These guys people always say are strong too, don't see why

Freddy is only strong when you spam snares, Spirit almost requires hearing, Billy can be looped easily.

    Deletes stealth

    Deletes healing

Optimal survivors don't do either of those things anyway.

Plague =/= Tier 3 Myers. Myers gets faster vault speed and a better lunge. Plague has nothing to help her end a chase quicker once she's done puking.

You can also cleanse as long as you're smart with it. Cleanse in a corner of the map and make her leave an important area to get the fountain. Try for a pallet stun to cancel her corrupt purge (she'll probably respect the pallet but at that point it's similar to playing against huntress).

A good plague will stomp new players, but survivors who are good at chases will give her a hard time.

I don't think there's an overpowered killer. There's overpowered add-ons, but killers at base aren't OP imo.

  • Waffleyumboy
    Waffleyumboy Member Posts: 7,318

Spirit is a little too easy imo, but since sounds are bugged no killer is too powerful. Anyone who can get good at nurse deserves 4ks.

There isn't any overpowered killers anymore. As others have stated, the most OP thing in this game are survivors.

In MY opinion, Huntress is overpowered; her iridescent hatches + infantry belt = destruction.

Seriously though, her hatchets are insane with these add-ons and even if you don't use these add-ons, if you play her correctly then you'll be ruthless.

I’d say bully. Spirit takes some learning and before nerf her and nurse dominated. Now he’s billy or maybe Frederick.

There are no overpowered killers anymore. Old omeblink Nurse, and old Prayerbeads Spirit were probably the only things that were truly uncounterable. Possibly closely followed by Tinkerer instanthatchet Huntress, and Billy flick.

But they got rid of all those OP add-ons, and perks, so yeah ...

Imagine thinking spirit takes more skill than billy. You probably don't even know about chainsaw techniques at loops.

Finally something we can agree on. This person has been going on and on about Freddy and Billy being OP. As Mcote says - "That's an opinion..."

It actually confuses me how anyone who claims to be good can think either of them are OP.

"Oh! Ruin is finally gone! Better go after the killers with gen pressure!"

    Unicorn_scarecrow Member Posts: 63

I'll say it depends on the player more than the killer. You can give a great killer that is all perked up to a bad player and it won't matter because the player won't come through with a win. Vice versa, you can give a terrible killer to a beast player and that player will still end up being a force to reckon with.

A hard killer for me is Ghostface (when it is a good player). The instadown kicks my butt.

  • ReallyBigShoe
    ReallyBigShoe Member Posts: 764

I think that's a byproduct of being psyched out by the exposed status. Most players become inherently less confident when they are exposed (except in Myers case, he's fast as all hell in tier 3). Nothing really changes when he has you exposed, he can just down you in one hit. Try to move passed the exposed bit and just loop them as usual.

Overpowered killers do not exist in the game

  • thesuicidefox
    thesuicidefox Member Posts: 8,223

The only reason Spirit feels easy is because 95% of survivors go full potato against her. It doesn't matter the rank either. They just make stupid decision after stupid decision. Get someone in that 5% I guarantee you will change your tune. She's not actually as easy as you think. You are getting false positives because majority of survivors don't know what to do against her.

  • Poweas
    Poweas Member Posts: 5,873

Tbh, Spirit with addons is, at base she's FINE.

The top tiers (Nurse, Spirit, Hag and Billy) aren't really more powerful than each other at base to be honest. They all shine in their own way.

If the survivors weren't dumb as @thesuicidefox said, Spirit wouldn't be OP at all.

  • TommyFredo
    TommyFredo Member Posts: 48

Exactly. Majority don't know what to do. What are the odds of getting a 4 man of all experienced players that can play her with no problem. Even if I know how to counter her, doesn't mean my teammates do. This causes me to waste precious gen time on unhooks, pallet/flashlight saves, taking hits, etc. A 3 legged dog can get a 2-3k easily, especially in today's Red Ranks.

Nea is the strongest killer obviously 🙄. She is the most fearful killer of them all she can mess up survivors be to doc and can leave people on hooks.

so there you have it nea is the strongest killer

I mean Overpowered is a stretch. It's not a guaranteed win playing as either of these. But...

I think Freddy, and Spirit are really strong. Freddy just has tons of pressure being able to basically delete, Borrowed time. Makes it difficult to determine his location while asleep. And ends most loops very quickly. The teleporting to gens also makes him have a lot of pressure anywhere on the map.

Spirit, I also feel is very strong. Maybe I don't know how to play against her but like...I feel like as soon as I take a single hit from her, and am injured it's over. She will phase walk and zoom after me before I can get anywhere, if I stop she see's that I stopped because lack of scratch marks, if I run around in circles she stops, if I keep running she catches me. And if I'm injured she just listens for that. Pretty annoying honestly...and there never seems to be a window near by for me to use.

But yeah, that's really it for me. My annoyance with Billy is his amount of chainsaw swings that hit...but they don't even look like they are close. Not really him.

When did I say Freddy was OP? Or needed a nerf? All I said about Freddy was that one specific build isn’t fun to play against.

Many people say Billy is OP.

  • ClickyClicky
    ClickyClicky Member Posts: 3,536

I’m glad somebody else sees it.

When I play Spirit I often see Nea plays just sit on the other side of the pallet....as if they think if they wait long enough Spirit will just go away.

A lot of playing against M1 killers is reacting to what they do. With Spirit and Nurse you need to predict what they’re going to do. I think people struggle with this part.

Yesterday, I had a Nea that just hid for most of the end of the match. It was so aggravating. She just got in a locker until the birds started chirping, come out to get them off and got back in. It was only her and I, and I got tired of running from the Hag that I just gave up. I can’t run and do gens at the same time.

Im just happy the Hag didn’t let her escape.

Spirit haters are a whole new breed, I'm telling you. If you easily deal with survivors when you play as the Spirit, I'm sorry, you'd probably played against potatoes.

All people who hate the Spirit talk about her skillcap. Well, it seems Freddy is a whole new level of gameplay!

And unlike reaction skill, prediction skills are not easy to learn or teach. Some people might never be able to do it.

I know pro eSports players that have a hard time with this stuff. And then there are others where they just do it naturally. You can tell the former because when they get put against a player the doesn't quite follow the "norm" of what they are used to they struggle. You can tell the latter because they have the power to condition their opponent and read every move they make.

Tokido of Street Fighter fame is a good example of the latter. This guy is able to condition his opponents in high level matches and BODY them. I remember seeing him facing off against someone on an Evo stream in SF4, I think it was top 16. These games are best of 3, so he literally threw the first match to condition the guy to expect wake up dragon punch every time (among other things). He almost perfected him the next two matches because they guy couldn't help but to react to what Tokido wanted him to react to, then he punish him for the mistake.

It's an innate ability. Either you can do it or you can't. Most people can't, hence they struggle against Spirit. You can learn it but it's not at all easy. You have to become very conscious of what you are doing and actively avoid patterns, which goes against human nature.

    Legion

His ultra rare add-on is op. If he hits someone, his terror radius is heard from across the map. AND he instantly breaks pallets when he vaults them in frenzy. One of his perks allows him to see a generator if two or more people are working on it. Finally, he has a perk where if someone gets out of a locker, he can see them. If he doesn’t get removed or debuffed soon then DBD is messing up.

    Stat wise Freddy.

Capacity wise Nurse, Spirit and Billy for the top players.

And lastly my unconventional opinion, Deathslinger. Against really good deathslingers every corridor, every window and basically every loop can become a death trap. He doesn't have much counterplay since other than pallets, the moment he gets LoS he can get a hit (if he is good).
