NOED potential solution

Was just reading my 8th nOeDiSoP flame war and just thought. Why not just make it a set totem like ruin? Ruins pretty balanced. Sometimes you can get a good spawn and survivors actually have to work for it but its obvious by its light, so just give noed the same treatment. Boom.

Any suggestions? If not an up vote would help make my point more valid.

As much as I'd hate to argue against a NOED nerf, this just wouldn't be fair at all to the killer running the perk - and would kill the use of the perk. The thing about NOED that kinda makes NOED be NOED is the uncertainty of knowing whether the killer is running it or not. NOED is not even usable until late-game when all gens are popped and during this time, survivors can get rid of totems if they desire to and seeing a glow-y totem is definitely attractive to any survivor running by it.

Are you implying it should be active from the start which would be way overpowered? Or it should 5 times easier to avoid which would be way underpowered? The best solution so far for NOED would be a global totem counter or a map wide dull totem cleansing audio for survivors so they can count manually.

Can't have the best of both worlds here. I mainly play killer, and I'd personally say for an intense slugging perk like it is with the speed boost, should have some risk involved. Like running ruin, you risk them spawning and instantly finding it, negating that whole perk for the whole game.

I just mean the totem is active and lit but the totem isnt active till EGC. And by that reasoning of being easier to avoid, ruin is also underpowered?

The totem is LIT like its active, but the effect itself doesnt take place until end game collapse if you get me

Thats also a very good counter, an icon counter next to where the gens are

It shouldnt be lit up before the gens are completed because the effect isnt happening yet.

Except maybe make a dull totem in the begining of the game the Noed perk. If that specific totem is destroyed then noed deactivates after the gens are completed.

This make it happen that you dont have to destroy all the dull totems and let the element of suprise Stay.

You do realize noed is a hex perk...imagine not Getting rid of all ruin and then saying it’s to OP..well it’s a strong perk yes but it’s also a totem there’s a high risk vs reward... the only problem is survivors..there WAY to lazy to do totems so they constantly ask for a nerf to it lol ITS fine just do bones.. or suffer the consequences your choice

The solution to NOED is to stop running typical meta perks. How about actually switching up your build from time to time, there are a ton of perks and even items that can help you locate totems extremely easily, on top of the fact that half of the time the totems are right out in the open to begin with.

So, i start a post to propose a change for a perk that i haven't seen promoted anywhere in order to both give a fresh take and stay away from the typical noed posts and your response is to say my post is invalid?
