3.7.0 Anti aliasing

You know how much I was able to boost my fps? From below 30 fps to solid 60+ fps. Now guess who ain't playing a pvp game with under 30 fps, me.

I have a RTX 2060 and my FPS got worse after this Patch, and I just used Engine to disable AA , IDK what they've done
1 -
980 here and my fps stayed the same.

I assume you never changed it in the first place, so obviously you ain't noticing a difference

But I mean you have a 2060 what are you crying about? Unless you are running 4k you should be well above 60FPS

This game isn't exactly optimized, and even on extremely high-end computers it can struggle. AA was the big problem for the most part, and removing it fixed the issues.
2 -
I know that but with my 980 running at 1080P I get a average of 70-90 Ultra setting so I pretty sure the guy with a 2060 can get the same result as for lower end it does suck, that I agree. They need to add more settings options without going into gameusersettings

ReShade can fix the blurriness of TAA by enabling Luma Sharpen and/or Adaptative Sharpen, but I don't know if the anti cheat system may consider this a (false) positive use hack or cheat and punish you. If a dev can answer this would be nice.
1 -
You probably don't know in that case, but poor optimization means that a high-end computer can do worse than a low-end PC because it doesn't like the combination of components. Whether it be the motherboard, cpu, or gpu, it causes the game to run slow. If you get good fps, you're just lucky really.
If someone does this, it's much safer to use an NVIDIA/AMD filter than anything else.
3 -
They need to add the option to turn it off, I hate having to use these filters

why can i play this on an i5 750 and gtx 760 but people can't play this game with gtx 2060s etc?

idk am gonna bump this , so more ppl can see it

i'm literally getting a headache playing this game with bhvr forced aa,they should really let players turn off settings that makes the game unplayable
2 -
i hate FXAA and Blur in games, want to be able to switch this function. Why BHVR want us to get glasses faster.
1 -
sorry devs, but the whole dbd graphic options is like a meme....

Reshade is whitelisted by EAC and the devs said a longer time ago, that they wont ban you for it, iirc. Don't know, if that holds up to today, tho.

something quick would have been just blocking the specific line codes that gives you advantage as cheats ..... this are the code lines than can cause CHEATS:
1)r.ViewDistanceScale
2)foliage.MaxTrianglesToRender
3) idk what is the code to make the red stain from the killer bigger soo....
4)FOG: idk the code too sorry
BUT INSTEAD THEY REMOVED EVERYTHING
o_o

ReShade is whitelisted in the eac webpage tho, so it's absolutly safe to use it. I tried aswell but I'm not that happy with the results. Yes, it's better than not having it but the best is just having AA disabled and then eventually tweak a little bit with ReShade to scratch out the last bit of quality
1 -
Poorly optimised game. Your setup (motherboard, ram etc) is just a lucky combination for DbD.
2 -
The input lag is a side effect of forced vsync, AA and less fps
1 -
r.fog=0 is a line I used by myself and it's actually not giving an advantage at all. In fact, it makes certain maps like shelter woods significantly darker to the point I had to adjust my monitor gamma value to see anything. Why I still used this line? Well, this line alone gave me 20fps more so it was absolutly worth it to trade it with darker maps

There's no such thing as a "lucky" combination of hardware. A GPU is still the same GPU no matter what CPU it's paired with. Lucky combinations don't exist because bottlenecks exist.
1 -
A poorly optimised game doesn't like certain combinations and can't fully utilise on them. Bottleneck is a poorly optimised system. But dbd is a poorly optimised software.
2 -
That's not how hardware works. A video card doesn't suddenly become worse when attached to a different processor or RAM, unless it's, as I said, a bottleneck.
2 -
The physical makeup and specs of the component don't change but how a specific piece of software utilizes the resources it and other components provide will absolutely impact its performance in that software.

I hope they talk about the Anti-Aliasing during the next Q&A

The sharpening filters add an "artificial" sharpening to the scene and it doesn't look as sharp as the image without the TAA or FXAA + filters, I agree, but I honestly prefer TAA and a Sharpening than AA disabled. The jagged edges in the objects look awful and have more negative impact in the visuals than the blurriness IMO.

I forgot to mention that this also costs more fps than just having AA disabled and no ReShade filters. For low end PCs it's impossible to use anyway

I hope they resolve this well before then because it's completely impossible for me to play with their AA solution without getting headaches, and won't be playing or purchasing any Rift nonsense due to that.

Same situation here dude , let's hope they're giving us a solution

bumping this so the devs fix their game for once
3 -
I really don't know why this game cannot optimize graphic in option. (vsync, width or ultra width screen, AA,...)
3 -
Every game has toggleable anti aliasing setting but for some reason devs are not making this for this game.

i found da wae to reduce blur (for good PC), if that can be helpful

I just tried this out. It does reduce the blur, but has a huge performance impact. Just a warning to only do this method if you're fine with the performance cost.

daily reminder that DBD has zero basic graphics options
4 -
BurgerKingEmployee, yep, it is. That's why for good PC :) And it is not fix, screen still blury, but not so much.

Ever since they forced Anti Aliasing on people who play the game on low I'm forced to suicide on "The Game" since I play with basically 30 fps on that map, same with the Spirit Halloween costume, if someone uses it I have massive fps drops everytime she's near or phases somewhere so I just suicide.
Please give us graphics options!
4 -
Please add an in-game option to disable anti-aliasing. The game is so blurry and i get performance loss due to anti-aliasing so please i beg you add the option as soon as you can.
2 -
Same my dude. But it's not only The Game for me. Most indoor maps gives me bad fps. The Game, Larry's, Hawkins (very little drop but still. Also when going against Freddy, once I go in dream state I get 25-30 fps.
With vsync and AA disabled I would get 60 fps in dream state. It's so annoying. But I push through it because I'm too addicted to stop playing. Even with bad fps.
Keep in mind I play on Low settings. The resolution % in settings at 100%. My PC specs are:
i3 - 2100 cpu
Nvidia GTX 750Ti
8GB of RAM
So it's more than enough to play the game with proper settings. I will say that I get less stutters with vsync on but I can't stand vsync in any game.

that costume has memory leaks so no coincidence there

Are we going to get an update on this? Is BHVR sticking to their guns? Should we just go ahead, uninstall and move on?

Let's wait for Q&A and see

I left this comment in another thread but I'd like to post it here as well.
Valve released an update for CS:GO many moons ago, back when it was not free to play. It introduced FXAA, which is very similar to TAA post processing anti-aliasing, the type of AA we're complaining about. Now I used to play CS. FXAA enabled by default one day after an update and I noticed my game had some sort of blur on it for some reason. Ah, there it is -- FXAA in the Video settings. Turned it off in the settings and was back to normal. Any competent CS player did the same. Now I did use AA in that game, but was not forced to. I used MSAA at 4x or something. This AA is not a post processing effect (not a hint of a blur) but can hinder performance greatly, depending on your system specs. Us DBD players just want the option to be able to disable this post processing AA. If they give more options, great!
P.S. I typically leave post processing AA on in singleplayer games but sometimes I don't. Big no no in multiplayer titles, imo.
2nd P.S. I am in no way comparing DBD to a twitch shooter. I'm comparing settings and nothing more.

What q&a?

They're planing another Q&A on May 15th , and this time we can vote for questions we want them to answer
