Ghostface, the new poster boy of balance.
BHVR definitely did right by Ghostface.
People say that Billy is the king of balance. (Yes i know hes in a buggy and clunky state rn). But I disagree.
Ghostface is fun to play as and against. Hes simple and easy to learn, but takes time to master.
Theres nothing really especially broken about the killer himself, other than dedicated servers screwing up his reveal process. Hes simulataneously difficult and easy for survivors to counter.
What are your thoughts on Ghostface?

I disagree on the "fun to play against" part.
So many GF's just run the same old same old Sloppy, Nurses, BBQ, and Thana.
For balance? Maybe, but his reveal mechanic is suppppper clunky.

Honestly if Billy is truely the epitome of balance than almost every other killer needs significant reworks to boost the viability as killers. Billy is definitely more then a cut above balanced.
Ghostface is still imho one of the worst killer's due to his recharge rate and janky reveal. If I'm forced to have to run addons or use specific addons to make a killer viable. That tells me the killer is in fact far from balanced or viable.

I play GF w/o add-ons usually. The trick is to hide so survivors don't reveal you.

I know how to play him I don't enjoy him as I can do better stuff with Wraith, Myers, and Pig yet it doesn't change the core issue is that a janky reveal system and a long recharge rate still massively hinder him. If the reveal system was not so janky the recharge rate would be more acceptable, but I have been revealed or revealed killers half a map away behind a wall.

I never understood why people call Billy balanced.
One of the few killers that can 1 Ht his was from one gen to the next, cross map with no cooldown at 115% movement speed as well?

Well ghostface could do with bugs related to his reveal being fixed. His add ons could use some looking over. Since Ghostface current best add ons are the recovery ones. Which a ghostface will want, if he wants to play to the best of their ability. Now i would leave the recovery adds on the same, while looking over the others. That and maybe make it more rewarding for a ghostface who successful stabs a expose target, like say one second off their cooldown. Not alot [i use one second for i'm not sure if a higher number would be balance or not, that and with recovery add ons, that would make it even faster, so that would also have to be taken into account] but it would make it more rewarding to pull off a success stab on a expose target.
So i would say, yeah there are certain things that need to be looked into for ghostface. Yet as he current is, a decent killer. Who has gotten way better on certain maps, thanks to the current update making some of them smaller. Of course the same could be said for any 115% movement speed killer.

Hes the best stealth killer in the game. Better than Myers, Pig and Wraith. Ghostface is in no way Clown/Deathslinger tier.

Sorry I was meaning to sound less serious. I was going for the "casuals think Pig is strong" gag. You're free to discuss with whomever, whether or not it makes a difference. On a serious note, GF is the strongest stealth killer because he can one shot and attack from stealth.

I see Ghostface in just about all of my trials and they're either abusive to hooked survivors, or they're toxic, or both. He can go away for a couple of months now.

I didn't say he was worse than clown. Definitely worse than Pig and Wraith though. Any power that relies on a survivor being stupid like stalking only works on bad survivors.

But... he doesnt rely on stalking. He can hit immediatelty out of stealth without a notification like a bell or grunt. Therefore, hes significantly better. Stalking is sort of a nice bonus to his power. I use him to get surprise m1 hits to get guaranteed damage instead of stalking on dedicated servers.

So from how you play him you just make him into a worse Pig? If you don't use a killers full kit than really whats the point in debating? I mean thats like playing Huntress and not using hatchets because it's inconsistent sometimes.

You debate with people until you realize they won't agree or are in the right than proceed to use off color comments to end the disagreement while trying to come out ahead. Either that or insult them to make whatever they say sound trivial.

I would humbly disagree that a silent killer with a broken stalk ability, who can break BT, is the epitome of 'balance'. You are right. He is easy to play. Which is why ppl like him. I don't find him particularly fun from either perspective.

I dont stalk because its broken as hell on dedicated servers. In red ranks, I cant afford to hope that stalking works, Id rather get the basically free hit.

BT needs a counter of some kind. Even though I usually target the unhooker simply out of principle. Im not a filthy tunneler unless you have a key and I brought a Ivory Mori.

That just proves Ghostface is a bad killer by your own words. If you can only use a fraction of the killer power than really you should play someone else. Either way I do know people on console and PC who can stalk successfully at red rank. Or you can act like WaffleYumboy who basically said "just hide better".

I don't think many people think he's "fun to play against". Every time I see him I'm like "Ew, another Ghost Face". He's also the reason why I have permanent spine chill in my build. He makes Wraith kind of pointless, outside of being Sonic the Hedgehog while in stealth, and it's usually buggy trying to break him out, but if it was consistent he'd likely be more on the balanced side but the baddies who use him wouldn't do as well and then we'd hear people whining about how weak he is. Not to mention since the matchmaking problems most of the time you get low rank killers who camp hooks with him, and you know that's always fun. He's one of the best campers due to his ability to not be heard and being able to still attack normally while in stealth state. If you hear his boots(something I generally use to track if he's nearby if I don't have spine chill), it's usually too late. I find him one of the most annoying killers to face honestly.

To be fair on my end I think Dedicated Servers are at least far better than p2p. There's less possibility of a killer cheating to gain an advantage, you don't have to rely on killer's internet, and I usually always seem to have a good connection. Sure there's the odd problem here and there, but it's much better than being teleported from here to there to here every few games. At least killers and survivors are equal in the lag department now as well.

Ghostface is just really meh honestly. I don't like facing him because his reveal is very wonky sometimes. In a KYF match me and my buddy were messing around with him and he stood completely still, I looked at him and it started to reveal him and then it just stopped before starting to reveal again and then it worked. I didn't even move my camera and the game decided I wasn't looking at him.
While I know it's only the animation his lunge looks really really dumb at times and it's almost always Ghostfaces who hit through pallets and windows.
As far as stealth killer's go I also think he's the most boring to go against. I do like playing him but only for the t-bag and memes. I don't really care much for playing him seriously.
Myers, Billy and Demo are the 3 golden standards for killers in my opinion. Myers is a fantastic stealth killer, Billy is a fantastic oppressive killer and Demo is a fantastic all-arounder.

Fun fact: Survivors can't reveal GF if they don't see him. In addition to that, dedicated servers can also cause survivors to struggle to reveal him. I think you are overestimating the negative impact of this jank.

Fun to play against? For me is one of the most unfun to play against. Sometimes you are exposed without noticing where he is at all despite you are looking around and is stupidly easy to play him, in some maps is so easy to mindgame when playing him. He is like taking some of the good things of Myers and Pigsaw without the important flaws and mixing them.

No. I run Thrilling, STBFL, Enduring, and Spirit Fury. I play an aggressive Ghostface. I dont often use stalk because of how often it simply doesnt work on dedicated servers.

Define balance, please.
I find GF to be buggy and not particularly interactive. His power revolves around getting cheap shots, camping and tunneling with little punishment for it. It might be 'balanced', depending on the definition of balance, if that doesn't include interaction. I have a long list of rank 1s GFs who always stealth camp hooks.
Myers is a better stealth-ish killer, balance-wise. At least, imho.

I think your overestimating GF in general. He's one of the worst killers mechanically designed. With a few cheap gimmicks to make him seem good and viable. Anything a GF can do Wraith, Myers, and Pig can and will do better if it's in there kit.
Only thing I can say you got that the other guy didnt was you dont seem to just use GF for M1 hits and actually use his full kit. I'll always find it ridiculous how people argue about a killer yet can't even use them to the fullest potential.

GF is really buggy for both sides. I've stalked people through solid objects and I've revealed him through solid objects. Then, I'll stare at him and he doesn't get revealed, vice versa.
I feel like he'd be fun to go against, but with the reveal mechanic being as buggy as it is...
