Why do certain Killers/Survivors attract certain types of gamers?

PS4 player here!

I've noticed that certain characters in the game seem to attract a certain type of player. I am not talking about face camping Bubba's where it (unfortunately) is a game mechanic that dictates that person's behavior for better or for worse. I am talking about certain types of characters being played in trending ways unrelated to mechanics. Does anyone else notice this? 😂

My observations are...

Claudettes - seem to blow the most generators. Also seem to run away the most. Will opt to Self Care instead of let you heal her.

Jane - will have the Killer chasing that thiccness for days. Janes are the queens of running loops.

Bill - MVP and total Chad 9/10 times. I love Bills.

David - solo player, will do a lot of generators but also will dip out as soon as the door is open.

Meg - will crouch near hooked Survivors but not rush in. Hides a lot, searches chests, touches maybe one generator but then has the audacity to tea bag at the Exit gate. Will drop a palette on her fellow Survivor.

Nea - is either Meg 2.0 or will manage to pop two gens without being seen by any other Survivor or Killer like some kind of ninja.

Kate - altruistic, will unhook, will body block. Also a hook magnet, will be first to get 3rd hooked.

Dwight - either will cost us the game or be the MVP. There are no 'good' Dwights - only 'great' and 'awful'. 🤣

Feng - will run past you when you're hooked to clear a totem/search a chest. Generator pro - will prioritize generators over healing, will work wounded, will keep working on gens in a 2k instead of just searching for hatch.

Ghostface - will tunnel, will tea bag, will take the endgame hostage. Most likely to send hate response to 'good game'. Toxic.

Trapper - will likely drop you at hatch if you played a good game. Gonna make me sweat to escape them chases though! I love Trappers, my most exciting and fun games are against skilled Trappers.

Doctor - will hook hit, will do 4 minute chases and get 3 gens popped if it means still downing you at the end.

Nurse - rare to see, but when you do you're dead. These unicorns are so fun to find because they are such hard games. Nurse is my second favorite to play against.

Huntress - baddest b*tch of them all. Will throw hatchet at you from 1,000 yards away and knock you off of a gen. Also, Huntresses seem to be the ones who buy the most cosmetics so they look the coolest!

... All of these comments are meant in the spirit of fun and are not insults to any kind of player! Also, these are obviously not all encompassing but just archetypes I've noticed. What are yours? How accurate were mine? Be kind to each other and as always happy gaming, all! <3

i play meg main and do almost all the opposite of everything you just said lol, apart from t-bag, ahhh the wonderful art of t-bagging. i only do this at the exit gates if a killer has been face camping me or ive been down by ghostface and he/she t-bags me. i dont really have a opinion on any others as i only use them if theres a Tome that needs completeing. but for other players i do tend to find that Claudettes do seem to spend most time hiding, and for the love of god LET US HEAL YOU. 😂

Which system do you play on? Perhaps one day I will see a skillfully played Meg and give a mental shout out to you! Though I do not tea bag as I feel it just fosters negativity between Survivors and Killers! But! I do not want this to turn into one of the million threads about tea bagging. If you're not on PS4 then it would be funny to know that Claudettes prefer a slow heal across several platforms. 🤣

Wow. I break every stereotype here.

And here's some new ones for you:

Pig - Will either tunnel you off hook if you're marked by a Reverse Bear Trap, or is a 5000 IQ game mastermind that will ensure that it feels like there are only ever two players on the map. And she's one of them.

Jake - Gonna sabotage every hook they see, or teabag and click a flashlight whenever they see the killer. Probably a Monto fan who thinks that they're better than they really are.

Hillbilly - Relies on only getting one hit per chase, but it happens to be an instant-down. Thinks that a 4k is a true sign of a killer, but will immediately complain about getting "Brutal Killer" after only using their saw.

Legion - I hit red ranks with a 20% sacrifice rank, but still get Relentless killer every game. Why don't survivors go down when I stab them repeatedly?

Yui - Look at me everybody! I bought the new DLC!

Zarina - Look at me everybody! I bought the NEW new DLC!

These were funny! What makes Yui and Zarina seem like show offs? Is it just the frequency in which you see them after release? I notice a spike in any new Killer or Survivor but have always thought that was just to get their perks to the teachable status. I never see Yui on PS4 but I do see a lot of Zarinas.

    In my experience...

Pig - you nailed that! Especially with the latter part, Pigs seem to be extremely good at being oppressive and applying pressure the moment you get on a gen.

Jake - probably one of the most diverse looking characters I see. Wannabe boy model? Biker? Hobo? You never know what you're going to get. My personal experiences with Jakes haven't gone one way or another for me to have a stereotype for him. I wonder if the reason they are sabo'ing hooks is for the challenges, I used to do that before I got his teachable on just about everyone else.

That was one of my brother's ideas. It tends to be a trend where a new survivor comes out and HEAPS of people use them, only to drop them when the new one comes out.

Beginner Pigs tend to focus on the trapped survivors as they are usually injured and focused on getting to one of 4 points on the map, that BOTH players can see. They then have this epiphany that maybe I should be targeting every one else since I know where that one will be.

As for Jakes, it's something that I've noticed a lot and while they usually have a diversity in cosmetics, they usually play the same way.

As a Claudette main, I don’t even run Self Care, and I’m more than happy for you to heal me.

Share your observations of other Survivor tropes if you've seen them! It would be fun for everyone to compare and to see where our Survivors fall! ^_^ and as I said in the original post this is just what I have witnessed as a trend and not an insult to any player or a definitive thing. <3

I say i am close to Feng and Kate, based on your observations. So i dont do what Feng does with a hooked survivor, i do what Kate does.

Alot of Claudettes I play with aren't great loopers, and usually run Spine Chill and Urban Evasion.

    This is scarily accurate 😂

I'm a PC player and I match up with Kate, Feng and sometimes Huntress

    My experience of Steve players:

You know that guy? That guy who really just wants to help? But you know better than to let him help you because if you let him dry the dishes for you, he'll somehow cause the dam across town to rupture and destroy everything.

That's virtually every Steve I've had in game...

I usually dodge when I have a Feng Min on my team, because either A. They are absolutely terrible and/or try and get flashlight saves all game, but they can't land one to save their life (or mine, for that matter), or B. They're wearing the bunny hoodie and the killer puts on a mori. I have been mori'd far too many times because of a bunny Feng on my team, thanks to Monto. Nancys are also some of the most toxic survivors I've ever seen, be it when I'm playing killer or survivor. They love to crouch-spam and gesture when I'm playing killer (and hop in and out of lockers when I'm using Iron Maiden), or they ragequit on their first down when I'm playing survivor. While there are some exceptions to this, including myself, they are very rare.

I would have to say that my favorite teammates are Bills and Jeffs! While Bill is usually pretty good at the game and makes for a dependable teammate, Jeff is nearly God Tier. Jeffs seem to be omnipresent, as they seem to always appear right when you need them. They're usually able to loop the killer while healing teammates and doing gens, all at the same time, and I truly rejoice when I have a Jeff on my team. The best kind of Jeff is a base Jeff, but other Jeffs can be just as powerful. Another surprisingly good teammate is a Claudette wearing bright clothing. Rare, but they've been some of the best teammates I've ever had!

I would also like to honorably mention Quentins. While they are rare, they are usually some of the nicest and most optimistic players on the team. They'll probably be the first to die, but they are always so positive and supportive that I'll take the L for a fun experience with a Quentin! :-)

On the killer side, the most toxic killers are usually Deathslingers, Doctors and Freddys. Freddys LOVE to slug you and shut the hatch in front of you and hit you on the hook, and Deathslingers love to tunnel and are some of the most toxic gamers in end-game chat. I've never had more toxic things said to me than by a Deathslinger. Doctor is kind of in a weird place, because when he IS toxic he is truly one of the worst to deal with, but some Doctors will stop halfway through a game and just start zapping everyone and directing them to hex totems and all that. Strange, but fun!

I main David and what you said is... strangely accurate. Solo only. Stay on a gen unless Spine Chill lights up or I spot a totem. Can be altruistic (I'll heal if they cross my path, but only save if Kindred gives its blessing). Once the gate opens, however, I'm not crossing the map just to save someone (sorry not sorry).

    😂 If that ain't the truth. I love Steve's though. I can't help it.

Nancy players - Either VERY cooperative, or will laugh at you from behind a rock. I'm the former, unless you sandbag me.

Agreed. I say what I said not because Steve players are malicious. Oh far from it. They're generally the first ones to offer to help. It's that if I see one running towards me to help on my generator or to heal me, I sprint away in the opposite direction for fear of the impending apocalypse in pursuit of him.
