Hatch opening animation
It is a simple idea that many people had which I didnt see any post speaking specifically about it
Add an opening animation with a timer for the opening of a hatch with a key, that can be directly interrumped by the killer to give them a grab.
The animation is not enough to make keys balanced but it should avoid situations where many survivors escape through the hatch immediately before the killer can react because the key is instant or a survivor just opening the hatch in the middle of a chase without any possible counter
It should also be like totems where if you leave it the progress goes back to zero. And this is a fun suggestion I have, make it like the chest if you cancel the animation. If you just stop the action a small animation of the survivor taking out the key should play, keeping the survivor locked in it. If you stop and run away mid-animation, have the key make a sound similar to a metal being scratched and loose a small amount of charges (about 2-3 seconds of it)
And please if you disagree dont bring out mori's into the discussion, you really are not adding anything by just saying "talk about nerfing moris first".

I dont see any need to change the hatch mechanic. As long as matchmaking is broken, solos need the hatch because of hook suiciding potato survivors they are matched with. Without hatch, there is no reason to keep playing if the first random suicides or dcs.
Making the hatch easier to counter on top of being able to find it without risk and much faster than the surivor can make it unuseable.

This is a nerf to keys, not normal hatch openings. If you rely on a key after having all your teammates killed and the hatch closed you should have a last option that is not so advantageous

I really like these changes except the killer being able to grab the survivor.

They removed the hatch grab to deal with hatch standoffs.

Again, this is a nerf to keys in general just so you can't use them in front of the killer and be gone in the blink of an eye.
In my version of keys, you would want to take time before re-opening the hatch with that item. It doesnt matter if the killer hits you because you dont have enough time to open the hatch in front of them.
And this would be fair (at least in my opinion) because, being honest, to get a key escape you either used it before all the gens are done, giving you a cheap escape. Or you open it after the killer has managed to find all the three other survivors, kill them, and find the hatch before you. You have an unfair advanyage, therefor he should have the time advantage in that situation if they find you
