How good is windows of opportunity perk?

I'm thinking in buy this perk in the shrine but dunno if is a good choice or is a waste of 2000 shards. Only 20metres... 20 seconds cooldown...

Someone can give his opinion about it? someone use this perk often?

If you're new to survivor it's super good to let you know what you have to work with and which pallets you can avoid dropping.

The more you play and the better you get at understanding map layouts and what's likely to be used and not then it starts to lose it value.

Overall it's okay but there are a lot better options

I don't use the perk myself but the only 3 uses of it. That I heard so far is

    1. To learn the pallet/widows spawns

    2. To help during chase like indoor maps where pallets are hard to find due to the limited view

    3. The pallet regeneration build but you'll also need anymeans necessary and open handed

I wouldn't recommend myself it your choice to pick the perk up but it's kate 2nd best perk

Can't play with out it, i have a small eye sight disability and that perk saves my life and my whole survivor experience.

Also recommend it for new players or if you're having trouble learning a map layout.

The 20 is enough and the cool down just makes you get better at chases in an I detect way

I've recently ran it for the tome challenge and I'd say it can be pretty decent, definitely as a solo survivor because you don't know what pallets your team has wasted.

The only drawback that makes me not want to use it so often is that fake pallets by Freddy/Doctor also light up as "real" with this perk.

It's just basic training wheels. Ought to be available to all new players but it's not. Wouldn't recommend it if you know tile layouts as having all those yellow auras is pretty distracting and can sometimes block important things.

    Good for learning the game

I can recommend this perk to learn the map layout / for longer chases as an unexperienced player. But also its pretty good if they release new maps^^ after they reworked lerys it really helped me to play the game and just passively learn pallet spawns by running around.

The 20sec cooldown is not that bad, you just have to loop the pallet and plan your next step / pallet to run to before dropping the pallet you're running around. If that makes sense :D otherwise you'll be a bit lost after dropping a pallet not knowing where to run next.

It's great for knowing survivor resources that aren't in line of sight. I use it on my looping build:

    Windows

    Lithe

    Dance with me

    Iron will

    Or

Use spine chill and resilience over lithe and dance with me.

Great perk, but it has had a bit of a nerf with the addition of destructible walls, as these are also shown up by WoO... not sure why, but has been confirmed as intentional.

Very good for beginners and solos who don't like to be found first, but who take aggro later on for some sweet boldness points.

    Also good on new maps.

It should be a general perk, unfortunately.

Ok, seems then can be good even for not so new players 🤔.

It's mostly good if you're newer to the game or if there's a brand new map/rework, since it'll help you find pallets or windows, but it can also be helpful to figure out which pallets your teammates used while being chased.

Alternatively, you can be like me and slap it on with Open Handed and Any Means Necessary to be the dedicated pallet doctor. You see dropped pallets, you run over and pick them up.

It can be a good bit of fun. I'd recommend picking it up if you're looking to mix things up and try different builds, not so much if you're just trying as hard as possible to win.

It's good. That's it. But it's even great if you're new.

It's ok for someone who has <20 hours in the game. After that you'll learn the tiles and you'll need those perk slots for other things

Imo the best use for it is seeing if pallet resources are available. If your team mates have used up alot of pallets woO will let you know. It'll save you going to a tile midchase and realising that the pallet is already gone.

That's a bit off, if your taking a perk like this it should show the difference between real and fake pallets. Same with aura reading perks like Alert that are completely disarmed against undetectable killers like Wraith in stealth mode. Perks shouldn't be rendered completely useless just because of the killer your up against or vice versa.
