EAC has detected that game files have been modified?? (Mod please help)
I was in a game and playing as you normally would and this error message popped up ''EAC has detected that game files have been modified'' or something along though lines and then it shut down my game instantly and had me leave my team behind in the match.
I have not modded any files and will never do so. First time I ever seen this message in 4000 hours on Steam. Can a moderator please help? Im afraid to boot my game back up now. What will I do??

first verify the files through steam (if you are playing on PC that is)
If that comes out clean, aka nothing gets download, I would manually delete the EAC file and then verify again so they are redownloaded, then try again.

It should have said which file was causing the issues. Try verifying your files through steam first, and see if that works.

That usually happens if a file is corrupted during an update. It's easy enough to fix, you'll just need to verify the game files: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335
After that, you should be fine.
As a side note, you don't have anything to worry about. You won't be banned for that, the game is just recognizing that there's missing or corrupted files and preventing you from playing.

@Peanits Thanks so very much for your fast reply and support. The files just finished scanning and it said 4 files were missing and will be reacquired. Just another question though if you don't mind?
As this has happened does EAC have a system that will mark me as having messed with files and put me in a warning system so to speak? Just like with DBD's 3 offenses done and your permanently banned. I don't like feeling like I done something wrong and if it happens again that I am banned. Sorry for over worrying its just I have spent a lot of time, money and work on my DBD account and don't want it taken over EAC thinking im cheating 😔

I was just disconected in the late game of a match because of the new update,good to know from now on to verify the files after a new update.

I am having the same issue but when I verify the game files it pops up that there a file missing and I dont know why is there any way I can recover the file if there is a missing file?

When you verify files and Steam detects a missing file, Steam will automatically download it.
