Hi developers.

I thought and decided that if you do not want to see endless (well, or very long) chases in your game, then why don't you develop the game in terms of stealth? I mean, not just adding more grass, perks, but adding something new in terms of mechanics.

At the moment, in the game is very poorly developed "hide and seek." I have no ideas at the moment how this can be improved, but that it NEED to be improved is a fact. And do not common “hide and seek”, but such “hide and seek” so that the players (both the killer and the survivor) would be interested to play.

Perhaps some will disagree with me, but now, with the new patch, it has become quite difficult to run away from the killer if you play alone and if you are not a “sweaty pro-player”. And there’s simply nowhere to hide from the killers, because the game now has a lot of perks that can allow you to see where the survivor is. Now hiding from the killer is simply boring and does not make sense.

And I believe that you, the developers, need to reconsider this aspect of the game, look at it from the other side, with fresh ideas and restore it.

You should consider switching to Hide or Die, like the rest of us. :)

Yes, that makes sense, because if there is "hide and seek", then after "seek" comes "die". :)

Iunno, as survivor I use stealth tactics to evade the killer that I used in metal gear solid, and they work pretty good. Ducking behind something isn't nearly as good as knowing how to keep a tree or rock between you and the killer's line of sight. When I was a newer player, one of the things I struggled with the most was having the guts to not run when I saw the killer. The game was genuinely scary to me as survivor, and it took me a long time before I became comfortable with walking around a rock or tree as the killer checked the area, but surprisingly, it really works. Also, as a killer main, I can comfortably say that the first person view as killer makes them mostly blind. Knowing that can help a lot when being stealthy as survivor. As an example, often times if a survivor crouches in a doorway before a killer tries to come through it, it will take the killer a couple of seconds to realize it's a player blocking them. More experienced killers will know areas better, though, and will likely swing if this happens, assuming someone is blocking them :) Survivors must find it really funny.

The concept of "Hide or die" is very good and may be suitable for DBD at the moment, if developers reduce the duration of chases.

I think it does everything much better. It all comes down to how well you can hide. That means that it is all about the skill of the players and not about who has the best perks, because no perks are broken. Killers are strong and if you're caught off-positioned you're in deep #########. There are better items that everyone can use in comparison to DBD. Not to mention that nobody can bully the killer. The killer is the power role. I could go on, but it's not really a HoD thread, but more a recommendation for the OP to check it out.

Not the game with that name, but the concept. That is, "he found you - you died." That is why it is very important to think about this mechanics, about the mechanics of "hide and seek"

At the moment, "hide and seek" is raw and not interesting, so it makes no sense to use perks, which can help quite a bit than anything, because the mechanics of "hide and seek" are unfinished.

They only changed the very strong map designs that got outdated and had to get an rework. These loops which got nerfed were boring and wihtout much counterplay besides bamboozle. They just wanted to get more action in a chase with much more interaction and it does.

I feel like the "hide and seek" aspect would be a lot more fun if stealth was easier for survivors and Whispers was made basekit(in audio form only, the perk would grant a visual indicator, thus rewarding using your ears), and if Bold was given more BP, plus a bonus depending on how close the Killer gets without finding you, granting half BP if they start a chase. Being able to go prone would also be interesting. The way it would work is that you would lie down and effectively be in the Dying state, but without the noise and blood, making hiding far easier. As a counter, Deerstalker would reveal you(perhaps at a reduced range) and the Killer can pick you up, immediately putting you into the Dying state

The problem is to have a effective hide and seek element you have to have the maps facilitate that.

The maps need to be small and confined meaning that hiding incorrectly is punished and you will have to keep on your toes to live.

In Dead by daylight the maps are far too big. Let's take a mother's dwelling for example it is very easy for a blended to hide behind a random tree in the corner of the map and as a killer I do not feel like it is fun to search every nook and cranny to find that Claudette.

It was never fun before endgame collapse was implemented where if not enough gen were completed for Hatch so essentially the survivor would usually just go full out immersed and you would have to play an annoying game of search every inch of the map and hope you luckily bump into them.

This situation I described above was 1 vs 1 scenario however now let's take into account a different Factor say if two or three other survivors are still left alive I don't have the time to be searching for this random Claudette because her team working on gens.

In a situation like this I have two options continue searching for Claudette and basically throw the game or abandon the search and go on patrol gens in both scenarios the Claudette didn't win game of hide and seek the game was so stacked against me that I couldn't even play the game of hide and seek.
