"You are loser" "xdd noob" "pathetic dumbass" "gg ez"

"Suck my dick" "boring" "what a team of noobs?"

"tunnelling tryhard" "stupid #########" "how do you live?"

I was indifferent to messages in chat like this, but something happened and I started to see such comments after almost every game. After every god damn game.

No tunneling, no camping, even no slugging, really nice games, but some individual always writes "nice NOED", "noob Huntress" or "######### camper". I like this game, really like, but this community... it drains me. So many hateful messages those people cannot leave no impact.

Developers, please, say you have any plan to reduce such toxicity, it becomes overwhelming and ruining the game expirience..

I just want to write gg's in chat without seeing not good things.

I'm not sure what the devs could do about it. Jerks are gonna jerk. You can report if they are going over the line but if someone is just calling you a tunneling noob killer, I'm not sure that something that should be punished...

All you can do as a user is either shrug it off or take steps to stop messages (turn off post game chat if you're on PC, block messages from people who are not friends on Xbox/PS4, etc).

It absolutely sucks because you shouldn't have to put up with garbage people being garbage but as long as garbage people are playing, they're gonna be garbage people and you just have to either get used to the smell or take steps to prevent the garbage from being able to stink up the place.

Honestly, just turn off chat. Survivors literally never have anything worthwhile to say.

(I mean, neither do killers, most likely. But I'm usually the killer, so I don't know what most other killers do.)

Sometimes there are days where I just feel like playing for myself and not caring what the other side has to say.

This game does get to you, that way, with how toxic the community can actually be.

I suggest taking a break if it's becoming overwhelming for you, people who say you need to "Grow Up" probably doesn't realize that abuse like these are actually uncommon in the real world. Only in places where you can be anonymous like this forum and ingame. No one should take in the abuse of others for playing a game for their own entertainment.

It's a shame because that garbage attitude tends to leak over to other venues like the Dev's twitter, twitch streams and even this forum.

Wish we can just play the game, but sadly that's just not things are for some people.

It's not just this game, its almost every online multiplayer game. You have the option to disable the chat window and never see them again. I actually love seeing all the salty comments. It makes me laugh that people take this video so seriously, as if it is going to change their life somehow. I don't even argue with them, I just respond ggez over and over. It causes their comments to get more colorful. It's funny how 4 letters can cause people to rage.

And honestly, even though I know that logically it makes no sense to let random abusive people on the internet affect you, it can after a while.

It can just wear you down until you don't really feel like playing, or you end up avoiding playing certain characters or perks because all anyone does is whine and moan about them.

It's sad, because honestly the game can be very fun and doing well can feel rewarding. And a friendly lobby after a match can be fun as well. But it's all so rare, you usually just get chewed out for playing wrong, playing the wrong character, using the wrong perk, chasing the wrong person, and so on.

There's an option to close chat and even an ingame report system if they use slurs. Complaining about it is pretty questionable when the devs have already done everything they can to prevent it.

It's not new. This is why I just leave and don't type. IDK if it's necessarily that it's happening more often, but maybe you're just noticing it more.

It doesn't bug me either, but it's kind of demoralizing that the human race can be such morons.

Reminds me of a quote that came from one of Robert Howards' Conan writings that went something like, "People became far more civil when they realized that the alternative was an axe to their head." 😁

Deactivating profile comments and closing the chat is the best thing you can do. Or just report them (if there are heavy insults) and move on. But after a while you get tired of reporting stuff like that. And I don't want to clean my comment section every evening.

Toxicity is praised in a part of this community. Ignoring it is a good way, because you can't fix ######### personalitys over the internet and you don't have to. Or just take it back at them. Not by being toxic to them, just dominate them ingame, the next time you see them.

I had some toxic survivors who dc'ed the moment they realized I started to play serious. It's a great feeling.

But stop letting those comments get under your skin. It's hard to learn, especially if you are not used to it. But you will always have these kind of people, even in real life.
