BHVR why are you so consumer unfriendly? [ANTI ALIASING]
Comments

Hotfix dropped and not a single word about AA. You gotta love it.

I love not being able to play the game I spent money on (due to eye strain and headache, not to mention garbage FPS) and not getting a single semblance of a ######### from the devs. It's great. "Just upvote the Q&A question, guys. It's not like we could give you a quick reply here or anything."

i'm literally losing 10 fps because of that now, just add a ######### checkmark to disable aa and vsync holy bhvr
my pc is already ######### anyway

3 weeks of ignoring this, bhvr is going for a streak I guess

It so fun to see BHVR-defenders speaking nonsence about "tricky booleans", "We are lucky", "it's ok". Are you nuts? Implementing those DAMN options is not fkin tricky! It's already done by UE4 engine! Just add several boxes and add handlers for them to change global vars like r.DefaultFeature.AntiAliasing and others! Almost everyone did it on their own in engine.ini and no "glitches". Its NOT tricky! They are just giving a fck to this! Why do they, if it is not tricky? IDK, they are just trolling mb or have poor eyesight so dont notice that blurriness. Mb they are so busy that there is no time??? NO LETS ADD NEW PERKS AND MECHANICS NOT JUST ADD SETTINGS WHAT WOULD TAKE A DAY LMAO. 4 YEARS! But they got time to disable engine.ini BEFORE fixing ONE damned string in default built-in options or adding then ingame!!!!!!! WHAAAAAT!!!!!?!?!?!? They are just kidding. They released a patch yesterday but didn't revert this AA #########...

Anyone that has ever made anything with UE know that adding a settings menu takes about an hour of coding. Okay, DBD is a much larger game than most of us made, so let's say that it would take a skilled programmer a day or two. Just remember that before you invest anymore money into this game - they don't even want to spend a couple of days to make life easier for you, as a consumer who bought their game. If they're not willing to spend such a small amount of time then don't be amazed when they don't spend it on something of a larger scale (like balance) either.

My suspicion as to why they're so unwilling to give us this option and why it was included in Low Settings several months ago is that having no anti-aliasing makes the game look "bad". If they allow you to disable certain features that make your game look worse graphically and then stream it or otherwise show it to others, it doesn't have that same appeal as a "great-looking game". This could mean less sales for them.
Between this and laziness I cannot think of a suitable reason why they would forcibly implement this and then completely ignore all the complaints about it. It appears to be a pure business move.

It kinds feels to me a bit like they want to keep control over us since we are stupid consumers who don't know what they want besides throwing away money.

Same, I was already playing less and less to the point I played 2hrs per week. But since the AA force I haven't played a single minute.

I have a friend that still uses GameUserSettings.ini to disable vsync, cap fps to 120 and make the game as TRUE fullscreen mode after this 3.7.1 hotfix without being banned as far as I know. I just wanna know that since he is still able to change those... Is it only the Engine.ini being disabled or both the Engine.ini and GameUserSettings.ini being disabled. If the GameUserSettings isn't being disabled, allowing me to turn vsync off in there helps me A LOT as my fps in dream world would go from 30 to 60+

Daily reminder that the devs left the game in an unplayable state for many players and they still ignore it.

Developers doesn't care, they just wanna get through the day and wish for the best.

Really fells like that ngl

Hi DwightOP
I have just created a new discussion about all anti aliasing issues, if you want let me know what you think!
PS: I don't know if it's against the forum rules, if case, i delete my message, I'm a new user

This actually isn't true, surprisingly enough.
r.DefaultFeature.AntiAliasing=0 is now re-enabled under [/Script/Engine.GarbageCollectionSettings]. However, one or some of the other settings that are commonly used are causing EAC to detect modification and boot you out of the game.
A bit difficult to tell due to compression but the beard is a dead giveaway.

Wow it work, thank dude, i love you °-°
Unfortunately I am afraid that they will also remove the possibility via this string, perhaps with the impending ptb?
In a sense, I would like you to remove the string in which I can do it, I don't want developers to read it haha

This method used to work before but they disabled it on the latest PTB. Now they re-enabled it with the latest hotfix so they probably won't disable it again.
It's pretty stupid that there is still no ingame option for disabling it though.

I can't find it anywhere. =/

Go to your engine.ini file and paste this to the end, it should work.
[/Script/Engine.GarbageCollectionSettings]
r.DefaultFeature.AntiAliasing=0

Open your start menu and type run. Enter %localappdata% and hit Enter. Go to DeadByDaylight\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor and open Engine.ini. Create a blank line and add this below it:
[/Script/Engine.GarbageCollectionSettings]
r.DefaultFeature.AntiAliasing=0
Save the file, then right click on it and click Properties. Set the file to Read-Only.

Don't forget us 144hz players.

Can I add both?

Thank you, I've ever even tried it.
I've been playing on PC for 1.5 years and can't wait. =]

Sorry, I copied the wrong command. r.DefaultFeature.AntiAliasing=0 is correct.

How you find that out? The devs mentioned that somewhere? I have to try that out for myself. I haven't booted dbd for multiple weeks now lol
0 -
Someone just happened to mention it to me.

Yeah, I have played dbd just now and I thought that I imagined things lol Because previously I was playing an old game where graphics were not very good. And it seemed to me that maybe it was just my imagination or whatever but it actually looked sharper and less blurry since I last remembered. Despite the filter. Hmmm...
