So what’s the issue with Clown
Playing last night I ran into a clown that shutdown chases and loops with bottles, then knocked me and camped me in basement, by repeatedly throwing bottles at the stairs. I died on first hook.He ended the match with a 4k because of NOED. Guy later messaged me talking like he owned us with the worst killer, while I’m sitting there listening to this guys paragraph long rants, I’m thinking how is he considered weak his bottles have amazing potential.

Not terribly interactive IMO. His bottles are like meh, they just speed up chases a bit and make survivors think out very odd alternative routes but his power hardly costs him anything and on the survivors end it has no interaction aside from trying to avoid it.

His power doesn't give him any map pressure, and the chase potential with his bottles is heavily limited by his slow reload.

He has average map pressure, 115 killers aren't totally effed like hag or anything but his chase potential with bottles is pretty irritating, disabling fast vaults and slowing survivors with a simple throw of a bottle is pretty strong for something that has little cooldown on his end.
Not saying he's strong tho, would not place my money on a rank 1 clown.

As the devs said he is very borderline good and bad right now, the slightest nerf and he is literally the worst in the game, the slightest buff and he might dominate every single game with no counter play.
Its hard to make changes to him because he is very close to both sides right now without just giving him a new power or some significantly creative buffs and debuffs.

How does he have average map pressure when the only killers with as low map pressure as him are Bubba and Deathslinger?

I think it’s not best judging a Killer’s performance on a Basement Camping NOED situation. It doesn’t reflect the Killers ability XD

Yeah I was mostly referring to the chase part, the camping is a very boring play style.

He s really good. I played him until i ended up on coldwind map....
I dont want to play killer that is map reliant and also not fun to play.

His reloading time is too slow, and he also move slow when holding a bottle before throwing it. Is one of the kilers which waste more time which is traduced in bad map pressure and one of the most genrushed.
He need a rework.

He has the same issue as Nurse, a very high floor skill level killer, with a power that doesn’t necessarily seem powerful.
many people feel pushed away from trying such a killer when there’s easier alternatives with easier access to highly valued matches (cue Freddy) lol

I think the only fix he needs is not hindering his speed when bottle in hand. The bottle honestly doesn't do that much. Infact the times I've played clown its blinded me! And lost me hits. But idk what most of his addons do so I can't really say if that would make or break him

It's usually more time efficient to just go for the m1, then use his bottles.

The Clown is pretty basic. His power does not do nothing, but the bottles can be a bit quirky and don't shut down the stronger loops as much as you'd expect if the survivors are not trying to be greedy. And thats all he's got. No other way to pressure the survivors than making quick chases with basic attacks, wich is not enough. Not against decent survivors who do the generators anyway.
Other killers tend to have tools that allow them to pressure the survivor beyond the chase. Not Clown. He is not stealthy, he does not lay traps, he can't teleport, he does not have an insta down ability* and no real special mechanics to his bottles either. If he cannot reach you to hit you with his knife, his gas has no lasting effects or consequences, so its pointless to throw it at anything you don't intend to chase immediatly.
There is more to this game than quick chases, but its the only thing the Clown can do.
