Match timer suggestion
Lately I've been getting a lot of games where there's two survivors left, and none decide to hop on generators because they're waiting for the other to die so they can get hatch/door or have a shot at it. If I don't have whispers, I'm basically out of luck finding people, especially on large and littered maps like Mother's Dwelling. I'm in a cycle of checking several generators for what can go on endlessly. My suggested solution to this issue would be to implement a game timer, in which if survivors aren't out by a certain time, the entity will either outright kill them. This would discourage many from simply waiting for their teammate to die and at least let the killer end the game faster if it's basically already decided.
There are probably a few ways to go about tackling this problem, which I'm sure could be as good or better than my suggestion. It's just frustrating when you have no way to find survivors and you're stuck doing nothing but holding w and looking at unprogressed generators.

Can't you just open a door and cause collapse?
I'd like a timer too but the match just ends..killer doesnt get free kills and survivors dont get free escapes...everyone just get the points they've earned so far.

So because you cannot find them, which is part of a Killer's job, and they are hiding, which is part of a survivor's job, the game should automatically kill them after a while? š Nah fam. Report them and move on.

I sympathize with you OP. Those games where you snowball early and have 2 Survivors dead with 4 gens left, then they play immersed for the next 10-20 minutes... And you can't just leave the match because of the DC penalty lol. Frustrating indeed.

Thats fine. But games with stalemate are so boring. Like when the killer has one of those little 3-gens going. I feel Like the only thing to do is just give up and give killer a free kill. And scenes like OP spoke of...

Pretty sure trying to escape is their objective not hiding waiting for the other person to die like a coward so they can get a free escape lol

Maybe camping the hatch is their escape strategy. There is ZERO reason why Killers need any additional methods to get free kills given the implementation of EGC and hatch changes. LOL Again, report them and move on.

Oh don't get me wrong I am not in the add a timer camp lol.
Worst idea ever. I just agree with the survivors snowballing so hard they turn on each other like little bitches they need to hide in a Bush for an extra 20 mins.
Do objectives or attempt to do them and leave or die. Pretty simple concept.

Wouldn't that give incentive for survivors to, do the objective? :/

I don't think just reporting is a solution to thus issue. I don't believe I ever said that this was the only solution either. But don't you think it's a bit asinine that unless a killer has some form of tracking perk, a group of survivors can hide and do practically nothing, forcing the killer to either get lucky finding them, or dc because they have ni way of finding survivors. With maps like Oni's this is just ludicrous.

I don't think you understand what my point is. It is not healthy that any number of survivors can hide indefinitely not doing anything and forcing a killer to either DC or get lucky finding someone. You know how the Yamoaka maps are, without whispers if a survivor doesn't want to be found, they won't be.
All I'm asking is a solution for this issue. Yet you seem to think I mean otherwise.

A survivors job is to do gens not hide, if you think that dbd is purely a game of hide and seek you must not have been playing for long. Plus it's just boring to get survs like this. They dont even usually win since A. I almost always run whispers and B. Them running around gives me the opportunity to find hatch while they're sitting on their butts and I win the hatch stand offs. I'm not saying i agree with the initial post that there should be some kind of timer but I do agree these type of players should be reported for stalling the game.

I run Whispers on everyone for other reasons, but preventing this is up there on the list. Once upon a time I played a match using a build that someone suggested - it did not have Whispers - and I spent at least five minutes in the endgame just running around blindly. One match and it happened immediately. Never again.
I don't see Whispers listed on most builds, but in terms of starting that first chase, figuring out which door the last survivor is going to, and preventing games of hide-and-go-seek, it seems essential for quality of life.
