Surveillance rework idea
You have ways of getting information. When a survivor is in the dying state you can interrogate them. The survivor will reveal the aura of all other survivors for 5/7/10 seconds outside of a 20/16/12m range.
You will also see any generator that is currently being worked on or has more than 50% progress completed.

So this would take a few seconds to do and the auras wouldn't be revealed until you had control of the killer again. Would be good for getting that last survivor and knowing which gens to prioritize.
If the other survivors have the ability to see the downed survivor's aura (meaning the killer doesn't have Knocked Out and they aren't inflicted with blindness) then they could see the survivor being interrogated. Just the survivor's aura. It would be subtle, like their head being lifted and maybe their legs kicking a little. But basically it would help alert survivors know they're being watched now.
A counter would be, like BBQ, to crouch behind an incomplete gen.

i feel like that would be way too strong0

This is better BBQ tbh

I would like to see Surveillance this way:
When a generator is regressing, you see its aura white in a range of 16/24/32 meters. Easy rework - very helpful for big maps & walls.

The concept is nice, but it should just be an effect and not require you to waste time doing some thing.
How about when you put someone into dying it reveals the auras of all survivors on generators for X seconds based on tier.

I just want the white gen aura to last longer that's all.. it's fine how it is just increase the timer to like 45-60 seconds... maybe add an aura reading towards survivors with a meter limit of like 24 meters...0

What about : the killer sees the auras of generators within his terror radius in blue (instead of red). At any time, regressing generators within the killer's terror's radius are seen green. All generators outstide the TR are seen red regardless of their state.
I think that if the killer knows exactly which generators are within his terror radius, it would help to increase the viability of TR based builds. Killers with a turf defense capability as the Trapper, (the Doctor ?), or the Hag might love this perk ... and this is great since they are not considered top tier.

This is what I would like to see it changed to.
Surveillance: Unlocks potential in one's Aura reading ability. The last regressing Generator reveals the auras of survivors within 6/10/14 meters.
No time limit. Just the last generator you kick acts like a spy camera revealing nearby survivors.

I just want the timer removed... would be a fair mid tier perk then.

How about keep the white aura for a longer period of time and then add a additional timer that shows survivors who are working on the generator within a certain range.

As a stealth player, that makes me cringe. I would be getting caught because someone else went down. It's also just a straight upgrade from BBQ & Chili, minus the bloodpoints. It activates sooner and has a better range, and also shows generators to boot.
I dunno. I'd take just about anything over the current surveillance, but I don't think I'd want that. I feel like there's too many aura reading perks already.

I still think they made a typo with this perk. 16 seconds instead of 160 seconds. There's no way they think a killer can kick 3 gens in 16 seconds.1

I feel like just increasing the time to 60 seconds would be a fairly fine change. If we really want to go crazy, also have gens give a notification if they are worked on within that 60 seconds.0

If we really want to go crazy, also have gens give a notification if they are worked on within that 60 seconds. The notification thing is almost the same as Overcharge. Overcharge might be more interesting in terms of gameplay because survivors can succeed their skill check sometimes ... and so the killer need to check the generator if he don't want to take any risk. I believe this is a well designed gamble. Now another interesting gamble would be to use a second perk slot, just to make sure some generators are still regressing.
Knowing for sure, about all generator being worked at a given time isn't really a good thing in a game of stealth and mind game. I believe there has to be a limit of such knowledge, either by time or location. I'd personnaly, choose the later, to reward killers who succeed into trapping survivors and their remaining generator in a corner of a map.

I had an idea for surveillance that keeps it gen focused but changes what it does, insert shameless plug here:

I like your idea, but when gens are relatively close together (like I want them to be when I'm going for the gen patrolling tactic), wouldn't it be weird to ear one of them being worked on and not being sure which one of them ? I mean if the working noises can be heard further away, it might be a little confusing when gens are close to each other.

I think surveillance was meant to be a perk that would help piggy with her ambushes, not a map/gen control perk. So my rework idea would be: reveals the auras of survivors that are working on a gen within a range of 12/16/20 metres.
