"This Last Chapter"
In this interview with DBD director Mathieu Cote for the 4th anniversary, Mathieu refers to chapter 16 as "this last chapter". I was wondering how is this supposed to be interpreted? I doubt it means what it suggests because he does also say about how much content is planned for the next year but I'm not sure what way to take it? Would be have meant latest maybe?

Probably doesn't mean anything.
He probably meant "This latest chapter"

Yeah I kinda thought that mightve been it either, I would've considered the chapter the first of the next year though haha

Guys it might be it because it had chapter 1 and 2 and maybe it means IT the last chapter

He doesn't mean anything by it, he's just talking as though it's the previous chapter and it's already finished. Scott Jund said that they work on 3 chapters in advance.

You and I both know we're in for a Payday 2 endgame with like $800 worth of DLC.

Remember that English isn't his first language. Latest, or 'last' as in most recent, is definitely what he meant.

just a theory. The rift contains the characters back story. What if chapters 1-16 are part of one book and the book is ended and the guy are form the rift telling the stories. It about to open a new book that contains new people. Just a theory

My thought is that each tome is a book, and each set of memories are a chapter. The most popular chapters get included in the 'movie'. Each rift is basically the costumes and props for the movie, with the props being charms, and the auric cells are the funding for the movie, and the level complete charms (like auric sight) are merchandise for the movie. May make no sense after a certain point, I've been going nuts cuz of the quarantine

That's all it is, yes. In French, the word for "latest" and "last" is the same, like in most romance languages.

I mean.. what would they move on to if they decided to stop supporting Dead by Daylight? Deathgarden? : )

I wish they had, I loved the high mobility gameplay. Too bad it didn't work out.
