why does everyone consider dbd a competitive game?

i love dbd...but let's be honest...it's not competitive at all

Surivors in a swf can do generators in 3 min and the killer in that time can kill 1 survivor if he's lucky...

And i don't even wanna start talking about all the broken stuffs like keys, mories, the hatch, decisive strike, insta heals, etc etc...

You can say that this game is a lot of fun, yes

but competitive...come on...

I'm not saying the game does not take any skill at all...i'm just saying that does not matter how much skills you have, in certain situations you're still going to lose, so the game it's too unbalanced and not competitive

Competitive means that both sides should have 50% chance of winning the game, but that's not the reality in dbd.

PS : Don't start with : " yOu'rE jUsT a TraSh KiLlEr " "JuSt ApPly PReSsUrE " or other BS like that.

or other BS like " i'M a RanK rEd kiLlEr i 4k EvErY gAme iM so gOod lol " (prob because you won 3 games against potatoes e now you think you're the king of the world)

Every pvp game is competitive. People tryhard to win so it's competitive

It is competitive by having ranking and teams playing against each other. That's pretty much it.

I think competitive isn't defined by how balanced it is and if you can win money with it

Btw if you talk about balance, I only know of Blizzard as masters of balance who manage to get stuff rolling and fair like Overwatch with a bunch of unique heroes each with different powers or Starcraft with 3 parties that have a completely different handling. Most balanced games I know normally have equal starting condtitions

Every game that puts you against other players is competitive.

The question is to which degree

    Is it well balanced?

Is there an e sports scene? Etc.

In my opinion DBD is more a casual type of competitive game

Because people are competing. Killers and survivors have conflicting objectives, and they compete to meet those objectives. By definition, that makes it a competitive game.

You could argue that DBD isn't perfectly balanced, or that it isn't esports viable, but I don't think that's actually what anyone means when they say that DBD is a competitive game.

idk, i wish the entire community would take a deep breath and sweat a little less sometimes. a lot of people just wanna win no matter what it takes and it's just not that serious, a killer can do everything right in a round and still lose, or a decent survivor can be facecamped for the whole game and depip. that's not competitive at all. to me, a truly competitive game would reward skill and punish ineptitude but in dbd it's oftentimes the opposite.

4 Man swf are 5% of the player base. 4 man depip squad must be 1% of the player base. Even if it's unfair, it's very rare to get them.

Personally, the things that make this game non competitive are moris and the awful matchmaking that doesn't represent skill at all.

One side wins and one side loses so by nature it's competitive as people compete against each other. Uno can be considered a competitive game and from personal experience competitive people can make even Uno fairly toxic.

How is it not? It's a pvp game, not pve
