I Wanna Play Killer, Any Tips?

I wanna understand the killer side more, is there anyway I can get some tips for certain killers, I only have the default killers, Legion, and enough iridescent shards to buy another killer (unsure of who to pick). I don't wanna be toxic and I wanna try to avoid tunneling/camping unless it's a killer I have to do it with. So any tips/suggestions, or even a YouTuber I can watch that explains?

Thanks so friggen much!! I actually am curious now that I've met a Legion main, any perk set ideas, I know Thanophobia (probs spelt that wrong) is good, but what about the other 3?

I agree with Raven014. I would also suggest you think about what kind of killer you want to be/would have most fun as, eg. stealthy one, tricky one, fast one, disruptive one, relentless one, targert-hitting one (like huntress), disruptive one and so on. I think you'd have most fun that way

If you want to play killer, Noob3 and Ussylis aren't the go to's to learn from. I'd recommend Monto, ESPECIALLY OTZDARVA, UMBRA, and even Tru3tal3nt. Otz is really well rounded with every killer, and so is Umbra, but she usually plays Huntress and Demo and is god-tier with them. Since you're new, I'd recommend picking a killer without a lot of complexity to them. These include: plague, legion, and especially wraith. Good luck!

I would also recommend ohtofu. He did a great billy guide and some other vids about pallet loops and such

I see, this helps alot! Looks like I'mma have to level a few killers since shrine isn't always reliable.

Yeah. But if you see licensed perks on the shrine, prioritize them since they probably will not be back as often.

Definitely know that, I was gonna get BBQ but didn't have enough iridescent since I got ruin the week before. For clown I don't wanna buy his so I will prioritize Colorophobia and Pop a bit less then BBQ and Surveillance. Same goes for any other killer I don't want to buy, Oni, I'll probably buy him since my friends who main killer recommended him to me

You dont need tips. Just dont care and have fun. That's how killer works. The trick is to have passion and fun. That's how you play this game. Otherwise it's a angry competetive game. But if you have passion, you will understand survivor is more fun than killer sometimes. And sometimes killer is more fun than survivor. It depends on your mood. You dont need tips unless you want to play with purple rank tryhards.

I know how you feel about tunneling/camping. I try to avoid those terms. What I do if someone is unhooked I go after the person who unhooked not the person who has been unhooked. And if I bump into the same person all the time, after I hooked them lets say two times I just ignore them, or just down them and leave them so others heal them up. My basic thought process is I am not tunneling if im hooking different persons. And about camping I just stay around a hook or gen for a few seconds till i look around lightly. You will learn when its worth to go back immideatly to the unhooked and unhooker and when to ignore and apply pressure by attacking the persons on gens.

Ah, I know those parts, I just need to get a feel for it. I wanna be someone who can try help settle toxicity between both sides and make it to purple or red ranks cuz I know that in between ranks you get different types of people. Sure I'll have that toxic SWF group here and there, but I won't let that stop me from improving which is why I wanted the tips, because most survivors (I've met quite a few good ones) are sweaty try hards using insults like "baby killer" "gg ez" stuff like that. Plus I feel like this could help settle my anger issues by testing my limits, I get over petty things, but I need to learn my limits of how much I can take so I know when I'll need to take a break. Survivor side doesn't do that for me.

Rough road ahead. Good luck. Turn up your headset volume as much as tolerable (I have it on 74/100). Sounds are your echolocation wallhacks. Have graphics on low. Turn off Anti aliasing. If your hardware allows, add lines for up to 120 fps. Perkwise, Pop is imo the strongest killerperk. Corrupt is up there as well, both are very helpful to slow the genrush at higher ranks. Dont get tilted, which is all too easy as killer.

I understand. Just make sure you don't think you're stopping toxicity by not "tunneling" or "camping". If you're trying to win the game, win the game. It doesn't matter what other people say. The devs would have removed tunneling had it been a cheese tactic deemed invalid (it's nothing like old legion's feral frenzy chases). They have an emblem penalty for camping, but it stops counting if survivors camp aswell. So don't be afraid, and have at it. You did pay for the game, didn't you?

Also, if you want to improve. It will come with experience. Eventually after a cold streak, you start to realize something's wrong. As 47 would've said: "Find the root of the problem". Once you've done that, "Eradicate it."

If you're planning on learning by watching. Tune into the quality streams. You'll know which are quality because their names have been said in this thread. But i would say, painkiller guy on youtube is the best one to watch first. And then see his examples in action by watching the streams. Try to get your strategy in the game similar to what they do in the streams. Also, do not be afraid if you win more than you lose in one day, because people tend to get tilted from 1 loss after 2 wins.

Quick question cuz I am big dumb, what is anti-aliasing and how do I turn it off?

Its a hidden graphic setting that smoothes out edges. Usually things look better, but for dbd it obscures a lot of details and make things look blurry, while eating some fps.

To disable it, go to: C:\Users\User name\AppData\Local\DeadByDaylight\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Engine.ini

open engine.ini and copy paste following lines in:

    [/script/engine.streamingsettings]

    r.DefaultFeature.AntiAliasing=0
