Q times arnt due to lack of killers its due to rank reset

Please dont turn this into a survivor vs killer thread because it isnt.

From my experience horrible q times and terrible matchmaking started with the release of the reworked rank reset system not ruin nerf, there's no survivors left in low ranks because its soo damm easy to get red ranks resulting in horrible q times since there arnt enough red rank killers for all the survivors who easily made it to red ranks even though they play like rank 20s.

(This is my opinion i could be completely wrong)

Well I've noticed on PS4 the times for survivor in the morning to afternoon and good, after dark times tho, can get very long. I always felt there were just more killers playing during the day

Here we go. Judging from “your experience” it is clear that you do not remember, we’re absent, didn’t start playing until after the new rank reset, etc., that queue times were already bad before the new rank reset-new rank reset made only made them worse.

You could still wait In a lobby for up to 5-7 minutes queuing up as survivor only to be dodged/unable to reach host, etc.

So no I absolutely disagree with the “not enough/lack of killer argument” who do you think you run into as survivor more often, a red rank killer or something lower?

I've recently been getting horrible queue times for Killer.

So it could be due to Rank Reset, but prior to the rank reset I also have been getting instant Killer Queues and horrifically long Survivor Queues. So it's possible the former is true rather than the latter. It's easier to assume that there are less Killers rather than Rank Reset being the primary problem contributing to long queue times because it has been more consistent that Killer Queue times are instant while Survivor Queue times are long.

Q times were always bad. But survivors q times were alot better then killers until after a few rank resets happend and Matchamking became unexistent after they reworked rank reset to only reset you 1 color

Queue times were OK until the release of dedicated servers and the new matchmaking system. We had the change not long after which made swf be matched off the highest ranking which made more players queue up with red ranks overall.

It only took 30 red ranks to play with those of lower ranked to mean 30 more killers were needed so this did compound the original issue.

The reset change was done after these changes so the problem was already there before.

Yeah no. Its lack of killers. Rank reset explains some of it, and midchapter helped bring some killers back.

Seriously at Rank 1, I vsed the same killer 4 times in a row. And running into killers you recognize is frequent. So, it is definitely lack of killers.

My queue times haven't changed. 2-5 minutes for survivor; 10 seconds for killer.

Yea q times havent changed since They were imo ruined when the devs reworked rank reset to only reset you one color.

Before that q times were better

For me it was the Ruin rework. In purple and green ranks, my Survivor queue times are 4-8 minutes. Killer queues at any rank at around 10-20 seconds.

Ranking unfortunately cannot explain why survivor que times have been steadily getting worse (and by extension killer times getting better) since around the dedicated servers released.

There are a number of factors that contribute to the que times. The most major factor is the lack of killers: my killer ques got significantly longer after Deathslingers release and after the Midchapter, and they got significantly shorter after the ruin rework. Another major factor is the current matchmaking system: as you said, it is easier than ever to rank up as a survivor and at peak times there are a hell of a lot of SWF teams that take up the high-rank killers, which extends matchmaking times. However, matchmaking (and ranking, which is a part of matchmaking) cannot explain the que time swap that happened between dedicated servers and this current Midchapter.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think a lack of killers is the only problem with skewed ratios either: given the swelling peak-time numbers, it does seem like there are more SWF teams and likely more survivors in general. It really does seem like a combination of more survivors, less killers and broken matchmaking that have contributed to the current reversed wait-times.
