Will those that chose not to prestige now be punished?
It was always the sensible choice not to prestige. If you weren't planning on wearing the bloody cosmetics, the tiny chances of getting better things in the bloodweb were far outweighed by the cost of the points that got you there.
Now prestige rewards are coming, If your non-prestiged characters are only a few levels above 50, its not a problem. If you only play a couple of characters its also not a problem. But what about those that have poured tens of millions of bloodpoints to get almost every perk on almost every character? Is prestiging back to nothing really an option?

Why would you be punished? If anything it'll just incentive prestiging a little bit more, but you probably won't be forced to do so.

The thing i hate about prestiging is when i want to lvl up the killer but dont want to prestige. If i unlock all the perks on a killer and one day i decide to prestige them. I feel like the more bp i sunk into them the bigger the grave im digging for myself.

prestige or don’t it’s just the amount of time someone is willing to commit to the game, IMO yes they should be rewarded a bit more. If you havent gotten to prestige well just get over it you’ve spent your time elsewhere.

I guess the Reward will be pretty minor. Could also be just a charm.

No, you won’t be punished. You may miss out on something unspecified if you haven’t prestiged anyone, who knows, but if you’re worried about that you can always prestige a character or two until they officially announce what they were talking about.

no, you are not punished. You chose to not prestige on your own. There was always precedent that you could get something later for prestiging before as well. Also the reward will not be something mandatory that you need.

Whatever the rewards may be I have doubts it'll be worth the blood point for anyone who hasn't been here for 2k+ hours. I'd like to prestige Tapp and Pig but I'm about 1900 hours short of the mark where it's a viable option still.

I never continue leveling my Survivors/Killers after they Reach LV. 50 until i prestige them. I only start collecting every perk if they are Prestige 3.

Ew, it’s like reseting the progress you made since you first started playing. I’d say only prestige your very favorites that you planning to wear the costume for. Or may be a few P1 killers too just for the bloody weapon.

A Legacy Myers who is now impossible not to spot. -Loads in- "Gee, I wonder who the killer might be" -looks around to see Myers glowing brighter than 1000 suns- "Nvm, I spotted him...on the other side of the map through 5 walls".

Nah, I already spent a lot of the offerings on every Killer and Survivor I don't main. That's why I am prestiging them. I already have enough fun with them perkless, so prestiging them is just the extra cake on top.

They better be some DAMN good rewards then. I have all perks on Doctor and Freddy. Unless the incentive for prestiging is really worth it, then I’m leaving those two the way they are. I still think they should just do away with prestige and have your level go up to 200. That way you get to keep your inventory and get the rewards.

Yeah, cause prestige rewards will be +0,3x bloodpoints each tier (at P3 1,9x BPs). So you get punished. LOL

It can be a punishment if they suddenly change the award you get for doing something that you choose not to 7,000,000 BPs ago because you didnt care for the award you would have gotten...

If prestiging had no risk, there would be no need for a reward.

What if you could get a prestige award for leveling your character up 3× or if you currently have all perks at level 3 on a character? Would that be fair?

You could get rewards for reaching certain milestones on characters. There are games that reward you for doing that.

If the prestige rewards are actually worth having, this will effectively extend the grind even further because everyone will feel they now have to prestige, at best non-hardcore players will effectively require another 150 bloodwebs that they wouldn't normally bother with. Those that are way past level 50 will have a huge amount of their grind wasted if they now choose to prestige.

Hopefully the new rewards will just be retroactive up to P3. It would piss off a lot of people with hundreds of addons on their favorite characters if they had to work up to P4...

Depends on the killer really. Some killers are so naturally unstealthful that it really wouldnt affect gameplay. People using Billy for example are HARDLY trying to be sneaky since that chainsaw can be heard across the map. The only real outlier here would be if your trying to use a build with dark devotion or something, in which case...you can swap to something darker.

I want to see if the reward is worth it to prestige any more characters. I have 3 Killers I play constantly at prestige 3 and 2 survivors at prestige 3. And that's it, everyone else is at lvl 50 no prestige.
I was always asking for some reward for prestiging besides the bloody clothes. Only took 4 years.
And something other than just a low amount of shards for gaining a Devotion level. That hasn't come yet, but maybe one day.
I just hope it isn't just some stupid charm or a couple extra BP. That's not much of an incentive at all.

I believe the question was actually in regards to Devotion rewards, not prestiging killers/survivors. Mr. Cote, I believe, misspoke and said "we are looking into adding prestige rewards", when he meant to say devotion rewards.

Guess I'll wait to see what the prestige rewards are. I think i only have 4 prestige killers and then stopped because while bloody clothing was cool, i decided prestiging wasn't worth it. I'd rather have all tier 3 perks unlocked on killers.
The prestige reward is going to have to be something really enticing for me to prestige killer(s) that have all tier 3 perks or are close to getting them...

So my question is. For the people who went through the grind to the prestiege will they get the rewards or will they not get them because they prestiged before rewards were added? If they dont get rewards that would make alot of players mad.

The reward will just be a currency, charm, or the ability to keep some of your stuff.

The majority of people who made content explaining the prestige system have warned that prestige rewards could change in the future just as they have changed in the past. Plenty of times people have been warned that while currently the only reward is cosmetics, it could change in the future so plan accordingly.
