Is basekit huntress strong enough to versus high rank survivors?
Well.. huntress is one of my least played killer, so i don't really understand her.
Majority of the videos i watched have a particular add-on that increases wind up speed. Is it really required?

Watch this guy, he's super good and usually plays at rank 1 with no add-ons.

No. Base kit huntress can deal with all teams depending on skill of the player running her

If you can hit with accuracy you don't need to worry about anything.

Depends on the map, honestly. On Blood Lodge, absolutely. On Hawkins or the Game, not really. Huntress needs long sightlines to get value out of hatchets.

yes, basekit huntress can dominate in red ranks
unless you mean with no perks, too. then probably not.

I just watched him stream for 2 matches at rank 1 (1 no add-ons, 1 with 2 yellow add-ons).. he got decimated in both matches with only getting 3 hooks..
To be honest i feel bad for him lol

Everybody has bad games, you don't get to rank 1 by losing all the time though.

You don't need any addons on her. She suffers from some maps sadly, but definetly one of the stronger killers.

Huntress is probably the least add-on dependent killer in the entire game. She’s one of the better killers that can dominate if the player is good with Huntress.
She’s only good if you’re comfortable with Huntress. You have to get used to her before you start playing her well. Probably the hardest killer to learn besides Nurse. It’s easier if you’re used to FPS games.

I counter with Spirit, Freddy, and Hillbilly. You can tell if a killer is add on dependent by their brown add ons imo.

The best huntress I ever seen is Umbra (I heard zubat is amazing, but I don't really watch him), and she almost never uses addons at rank 1.
So yes, she can certainly beat people base kit.

I would say so, yes, she probably needs a bit more effort to master her than other killers, but it pays off in the long run. She has some pretty good addons but I would say that they're not absolutely necessary if you're able to learn her strengths & weaknesses well. I would also say that learn how to predict well with the hatchets vs how a survivor will turn, belongs to her base kit too.

I thought freddy is the least add-on dependent killer? As he doesn't have good add-ons to begin with..

Well she isn't considered one of the strongest killers (A tier) for nothing. Her base is really good if you can aim/predict really well with her. She has some major limits like map dependance but even that can be worked around. People do well with killers like clown even on red ranks (since they're littered with potatoes) so I think you're more then fine.

I do better with legion than huntress in red rank lol.
But i main legion to certain degree.. so i guess that's normal

Billy definitely doesn’t need add-ons nor does Freddy. Billy, Huntress, and Freddy are the three least add-on dependent killers in the game, I just think Huntress is the least add-on dependent. Probably because I watch Umbra a lot and she doesn’t use add-ons on Huntress so I’m used to no add-on Huntress.
Spirit is not add-on dependent but she is significantly weaker without add-ons. Her power is so much better when you have add-ons. I would argue that at base-kit Billy is probably stronger than Spirit but when you put on add-ons Spirit is way stronger.
When you have add-ons Spirit can apply map pressure and chase potential and overall have much higher potential but without add-ons she can only do one of these things.
Against a good team a Spirit without add-ons will lose because she can’t pressure the map and have chase potential.

Freddy doesn’t have good add-ons? His ultra-rares are pretty good at keeping survivors in the dream world and the slowdown add-ons are pretty much what every Freddy runs. He doesn’t have extremely stupidly strong add-ons like Huntress and Billy but he has good add-ons

Billy doesn't need add-ons, but he feels bad without them to me. I like having more uses of his chainsaw in chase, and I think that that's something that could be transferred to basekit when he gets his add-on rework.

The answer is...sometimes. There are some maps where, even if your aim is on point, it won't matter. She is too slow to pressure consistently. There is literally no reason to play her over Nurse.

Behind the right killer main most def so.

When you get used to a killer using a certain add-on, they feel bad to play without it. Example is that I use cooldown on Plague and the shorter phase activation charge on Spirit. I don’t believe either Plague or Spirit NEED add-ons to be viable but I hate playing without those two add-ons.
I don’t play or like Billy but I hope he gets his bugs fixed soon and gets an add-on rework soon as well.

One of the problems of majority of the killer's add-ons, which is affecting muscle memory.
