Please stop pairing High rank SWF's against low rank killers
Heya guys!
I've been playing Dbd On PS4 again after a 1 1/2 month break & I'm just so frustrated. Again& again I've been paired against survivor groups, which were Rank 2, 4& 9,9 . How am I able to win this flashlight/ teabagging lot as a rank 16 baby nurse???? This has been going for every single killer match, where I played against SWF's groups over rank 9. This has been so frustrating that it robbed me of all the fun I had as killer.... And this issue didn't get fixed after all the other complaints... This makes me just sad...

Two reasons. One, matchmaking is borked. Been this way for awhile, devs can't seem to get a handle on it. Second, there aren't enough higher level killer players anymore, which skewers matchmaking even more.

Because it's easier to rank up as survivor than it is as killer.. and with the derank changes, everyone's red ranked survivor now.

I had 4 red ranks or 3 red and 1 purple multiple times when I was yellow rank killer. And I have seen similiar screens with brown rank killers too.

Soon I hope.. or in the meantime, I hope they revert the rank reset to what it was before. Tomorrow's the 13th, reset AND live stream.. who knows :p

Rank 9 pig main here I get paired with rank 1 and 2 survivors almost every game now. Was getting rekt every game but it’s making me better playing against these ranks. I can give them a run now and get one or two of them

outside of the post-reset grace period where i'll get a couple of more even games i pretty much refuse to touch killer until matchmaking is fixed. it's even more apparently survivor side when i play lvl 40+ decked out survivors at rank 12+ versus 16-20 rank killers with 1-2 perks, it's ridiculous.
i really don't care if my wait times went up if it meant that i got more enjoyable games, and was party to games that are more enjoyable all around. because as it stands DBD is a really solid concept that just perpetuates itself on misery and toxicity in a way that no other multiplayer game really does.

I'm sorry, BUT YOU CALL THIS ######### BAD? I keep having rank 4-3 swf in my lobbies and 1 single survivor who is NEAR my ######### rank! I CANNOT play killer like this!

The SWF groups are doing it intentionally.
Set up a group that's 1, 1, 1, 20 and you'll get matched against rank 20 killers.
They know it, we know it, BHVR knows it, but since Killers aren't viewed as real players none of those three groups actually cares.

This is Sad, this is THE highest rank i´ve been in, and now i Get 3 red ranks every game, and after the match everyone writes Toxic messenges to me. Aren´t we sepost to be THE killers.

I remember some months ago they changed something about the matchmaking. The killer should be matched against the highest rank (+ 6 ranks I think) . I'm pretty sure it worked well until the next patch came out. It feels like some rolled back the changes and nobody noticed it. I can't understand why it takes so long to change something. It couldn't be much worse. So every fix will be better. Today I was short before removing the game again for a few months. If others feel the same it's not surprising that it takes longer to find killers for a match.

We all know that MM is a bit “off” to say the least (I’m trying to be modest). However, just try to keep a cool head and don’t get frustrated in these games. All in all, the game experience will make your killer gameplay skill higher. You cannot get better at the game playing equal or lesser skilled player(s), although it may be more fun. I used to play PC, now I’m strictly PS4 only and I encountered this issue when I started. Embrace the challenge and improve your experience level against these teams...
if you can be a great SWF team, you can beat any team. I’m not making excuses for the MM issue, just explaining that it CAN be useful.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but i'd rather have longer que times then unbalanced matchmaking. That way, I can at least do other stuff while i'm waiting for a lobby.

Yes please. I just played again against red ranks again and I couldn't do anything. I only got 1 fkin m1 hit as Billy in the entire match.

Then thats a good place to start. Forget winning, just focus on landing more m1 hits. A good piece of advice, when they start to 360, take a step back and wait for them to finish. It takes practice and patience, but youll get it. Dont even worry about the chainsaw for now, just practice getting m1s.

I try to just focus on getting better but it is tough when I get outplayed so hard that I can't even get m1 hits. For me personally a win is 1 sacrifice, 2 is an awesome result. Thanks for the advice! Any tips are welcome.

Agreed honestly. Being worn out from the rank imbalance is why I stop playing every single time. I was a rank 1 killer back in 2017, but survivor's skill caps have gone through the roof in the last 3 years and a team of truly good red survivors ruin me now (as opposed to red ranks who got there by grouping with yellow ranks, which you do see frequently enough that they're their own subgroup of reds now). If I got fewer matches in a day, I'd at least be more likely to ENJOY those matches, and I've got plenty of low stress, put down and pick up literally whenever you want hobbies and games that I could have one of those up and playing while I wait for my DbD game.

Hey, I play this game for 4 days now! And thats what happen most of the time. I don´t even camp i just try to level up bloodpoints to get better perks from other killers to do against this #########! For new Players this is simply horrible!

This. I get this crap all the time. My killer is always hovering around Rank 10 since I get this abuse to MM every damn day. And it's ALWAYS obvious it's a SWF when the results shows all Rank 1, and that single Rank 16 just sitting there. It's broken MM and it's SWF abusing the broken MM. But, the devs just allow this to continue, because 'SWF are a tiny part of the game players'. Yet, if that's true, why do I see them every single match?

And there again, i´m not whining, but if you are a new player like me, this is unbeatable....i got 1 down and one hook. Im not a camper so no way... I think if i get one of them in the next matches i´ll camp the hell out of em.....This is not funny my little developers! Endless Loops, they know exactly when I cast my hatchet and so on.I mean yeah i´m new, I need practice, but how can I practice if i don´t get anyone. Gen rushes, 15 secs flashlight stuns etc. etc. High rank swf have so much tools and best of the best a third person view mostly with stretched resolutions to see more aaand the possibilty to be in voicechats!....For me this game is broken and I think I will quit this. Makes no sense to me to play this game anymore.
Tell me for what are these Ranks? That makes no sense....

Ridiculous. I'm rank 1 survivor and I've been paired 2ith rank 20-13 killers. It's way too easy for high ranks to bully low rsnk killers. I'm not sure where the "rank doesn't mean anything" myth came from but its absolute bullsh*t. Rank (which sometimes directly correlates with time spent playing) absolutely does matter in terms of matchmaking. Its unacceptable.

This looks like a smurfcomp. Basically, if there is a low ranked survivor in game, the matchmaking attempts to find them a low ranked killer. SWF groups know that and got 1 player to drop their rank down to brown to roflstomp low ranked killers.
There used to be protections in place to prevent exactly this. But people complained about queue times and so BHVR removed it.
Another issue is that killers don't get this the other way. Matchmaking on the killer side of things, according to the devs, was also removed completely and it's unknown when or if they'll bring it back.

I think they are losing Killers due to the increasing issue of SWF. Until that is addressed there will be fewer and fewer Killers and the matchmaking will get worse. Right now (as a Killer) I get matches instantly. Yes, I get all sorts of people way out of my league and have for a long time.

I'm also faceing this problem. The only way i've found to get around it is to look at the survivors themselves in the lobby and if I see 2nd or 3rd prestige skins I leave the lobby and search for another one. This obvioulsy doesnt work with survivor skins as theres no way to tell if there prestiged or not. an easy way for the devs to fix the SWF issue this game has is to matchmake from the lowest ranked killer within the party.
e.g if there is a party with a rank 2,8,18 the matchmaking will look for a killer for the rank 2 not the rank 18.
I understand this makes it harder for the newer player but if the rank 2 got to that rank from actually being good at the game then they will be able to take hits and pull the killer away from the higher ranked player.

The devs cater to the survivors. From a business perspective it makes sense. Survivor's out number the killer 4 to 1. Survivors play with their friends, they bring new friends into the game.
Survivors buy the cosmetics. So yes, people do still buy stuff for killer and play killer. Survivors are so much more used. It is easier. The devs do not want the game too hard on the majority. It needs to be easy enough for the survivors.
Yes, there can be some really good killers and poor survivors. But again, cater to them. Make it in their favor, make it harder for the killer the more they win they will stay and shop and bring friends.
This game is about the money. Look at the twins release. They KNEW it was broken. But they put it out anyway and were like, oh we will fix it soon.
So until things change I do not see them fixing Swf the advantage they have or the matchmaking system. It saddens me.

Secondly, cosmetics and prestige are no indication of how good someone is. I am terrible and I'm P3 just from the unhealthy amount I play.
The only way to improve matchmaking is to figure out how to properly rank players based on their skill. The problem this game has is it's near impossible to do due to how heavy rng is. With how slow the devs are to do anything, don't get your hopes up.
Also, since there are a lack of killers, the game will continue to match low ranking killers vs high ranking survivors no matter how improved the match making becomes. They will always prioritize shorter wait times for survivors over fair matches for killer. They can fix this by making killer more enjoyable to play, but to do that, they'd have to stop hand holding bad survivors.

I know cosmetics aint a sure way of knowing somones skill level but seen as they no longer have player ranks above the players in lobbys anymore thats the next best way of guessing skill/ experienced players.
Id also happily have longer wait times as a killer and actually enjoy myself in the game then find a match in less then a minute and be butt ######### for the next 5-10mins.
Im just hoping this new mmr matchmaking actually works as the way it currently is will just make them lose players rather then gain them as no one will want to spend the time to learn to play if there constanly getting destroyed by ######### matchmaking.
