Why bad Killers hit Red Ranks
This Killer is really bad at chases and got gen rushed with no kills how are they at my rank?

My same view with any survivor due to how easy it is to pip as survivor.

Yeah, when that realization hits it's usually already far too late.
I was playing against a Camperface the other day and I was wondering why he was in Red Ranks.
Then that Exposed notification popped up.
5 -
It's still better then when your teammates kill you with how bad they are. Noed doesn't even faze me or not as much as teammates lasting like 10s each chase 6 times in a row.
6 -
You see a Survivor playing badly and realize that the perk they're running gave them their rank?
4 -
And this is why I run Small Game. You should too if you want to complain about NoeD.
2 -
No just that it's so easy to pip as survivor when I see someone nowadays who over a year ago would be doing stuff that rank 15 or lower survivors did. That's how I know what skill level a survivor is. I've had games as killer where I gave people hatch because I could of sworn they were under rank 15, but were in fact red ranks.
2 -
No ED is way too strong for fixing a Killer's mistakes, it's like an insurance policy for people that expect to fail.
The only reason I don't complain about it more is because in Red Ranks its taboo to use it and its most Killers goal to play the game normally. If everyone in high ranks used that perk, I'd probably stop playing Survivor.
1 -
Yup, it's because survivors don't break totems.
9 -
That's how many feel about Dead Hard, Decisive Strike, Unbreakable and Borrowed time, they fix a survivors mistake.
19 -
It's not Noed. It's overaltruism.

I wouldn't know I don't use those perks. They're not necessary at Red Ranks.
0 -
That's how they are sadly. I don't mind any "second chance" perks because all have a counter, for NoeD cleaning totems, Baiting DH, slugging DS, not slugging Unbreakable and not tunnelling BT.
3 -
DS Unbreakable doesn't have a counter btw.
4 -
Both together don't, which is unfortunate, but atleast that means they used two perk slots just on that.

Ahh yes, a hot take, allow me to provide a unique response no one's ever given before:
Just do bones.
3 -
False. Even if you get a 4k with NOED at the end, they won't reach red ranks, since they were unable to do anything else during the match. Even consecutive 'wins' with NOED won't matter. You need solid chases, a lot of gen/pallet busting, and multiple hooks.
That isn't to say killers don't get lax in red ranks and devolve into NOED users. With the rank reset as it is now, they could have struggled hard to get to red ranks, then just gave up. Which is why I don't like the current rank reset system.
8 -
Aside from the Killer just having a bad day or doing a challenge, then yeah this is pretty much it. I hate running a Killer for multiple gens only to get hit with a NOED. Too many teammates just want to rush the gens or troll the Killer and ignore the dull totems.
1 -
Also false. You need to do all those things to climb in red ranks, reaching it is another story.
You can pip in purple ranks by camping the basement and getting 4 kills with 4 hooks.
2 -
Here's a hotter take. Give the Killer the No ED speed boost at one gen left so the Survivors can be notified before the final gen pops and have a chance to do the bones before they're all exposed.
0 -
He might have just had an off game. What killer was he running?
1 -
Deathslinger.
0 -
Well in the case of a Oni. Hitting the person with borrow time, triggers the safe unhook event. Which makes them start dropping blood orbs again. For a unhook person doesn't drop any blood orbs for 10 seconds. That way, they are force to mend if not also heal up on top of it. Which wastes more time, resulting in some area having a lot of blood orbs, Oni can collect for later. So in the case of a Oni, it could just be planning ahead, to ensure a healthy supply of blood orbs. Since forcing a survivor to mend, can be useful for the Oni, more so than other killers. Just hit and than let go.

I think it's more so that boosted survivors feed boosted killers.
It's really easy to rank up (or just black pip) as a survivor and it brings the team as a whole down. Now you have killers that don't really know how to run loops in red ranks because you have survivors that are just as oblivious.
I don't even think NOED is that much of a problem, and usually gives 1 more kill. I have rarely seen a game where a killer auto wins just by having NOED.
The snow ball starts with survivors being greedy with saves. If I see the "EXPOSED" status go off, girl bye.
2 -
Deathslingers weak unless youre REALLY REALLY good at fps. Explains noed. He mighg havd got to red playing other killers and decided to mess with slinger. When I run nuse its for sure not my A game
0 -
Well that's probably why. You need to play pretty much perfect as deathslinger within high ranks. All the loop stopping shots are quick-scopes for the most part. A few missed shots can be all it takes to lose, and at 110 there is no plan B if you are missing.
2 -
No, you really cant. Your chaser emblem would be completely gone if you camped that much and youd only get at most a gold for devout. Your malicious would probably suffer, but for the sake of making a point...even if you get iri malicious and gatekeeper at that point, you still wouldnt pip. This would grant you 11 points total which isnt enough to rank you up in purple ranks.

FOR THE LAST TIME
CLEANSE TOTEMS!
7 -
Many people already were talking about the bones. Now i will talk about my favorite perk to counter NoED: Hope. It gives you speed boost that is actually higher than NoED, hich makes it actually easier to loop the killer.
2 -
Well that's funny, because I have literally done it twice today.
0 -
I guess math bends to your will, congrats.
5 -
You're assuming that an endgame with four survivors alive and No ED lasts under 120 seconds... it usually drags out a long time
0 -
It's amazing you decided to title the thread something like this only to have it be a complaint about NOED. There's like a million things you could have replaced for "Hex: No One Escapes Death" that make bad killers succeed and you choose NOED out of them all.
Do people even use their topics to outline the actual topic of their post anymore?
5 -
This was literally 5 hooks, and I didn't even 4k (because of a kobe into an unbreakable into key hatch escape).
I tried to keep it at 4 but someone bum-rushed the basement with BT. I was standing at the top of the staircase all game and got no penalty at all to my emblems. "The worst camping i've ever seen" according to one survivor.
So 5 hook 3k pipped me, and you are gonna tell me 4 hook 4k won't? What's the ~math~ on that?
0 -
for your next screenshot where your claiming on camping the hooks, show your chaser emblem.
example here...

The survivor tears in the endgame chat are not enough evidence? "Worst camping i've ever seen" "Next time try using skill" etc etc.
0 -
Regardless it still carries killers to red ranks, bones or not.
0 -
no, because survivors will call ANYTHING camping and you claimed to camp 4 hooks and still somehow have a chaser emblem.
7 -
Yep, because in solo que that's extremely counterproductive and will lose you games. A LOT of games. The "counter" is stronger than the damn perk.
1 -
You know that it's bad survivors who bring bad killers up in ranks, right? If you get 1 kill by the end of a match with NOED, you get only a black pip.
2 -
Because they were poking at the basement and I was hitting them and then going back to it, as well as getting tons of hits with save the best when they rushed the basement as a group. And as I said, I was not getting penalized for camping hooks even though I was walking around the top of the basement for the majority of the game. It might not count the penalty through walls.
0 -
You don’t get a penalty if there’s a survivor in the vicinity, so most likely there was a survivor creeping around waiting for the unhook.
2 -
Common sense gen rushers with sprint burst are more scary to rank 1 Killers (like me) than good loopers tbh
1 -
How'd you know that the killer is red rank before NOED activated?
Do you really say NOED is the only reason why bad killers hit red ranks?
uhm... lol? Where did you read that rule? XD
I think that one point you need more for a pip doesn't completely negate it. Double pips are hard to get in red ranks, but I'm pretty sure bad games with just 4 hooks + NOED don't let you pip in purple ranks. The only thing NOED gives you is maybe one extra point in the sacrifice emblem. If you pip after failing all game long, it is over altruism when the team doesn't think you deserve a single kill and rushes to hook exchanges until all got out (or more likely 1 or 2 die). And then the problem isn't NOED, the problem is the team, that boosts the killer
1 -
24k points doesnt really look like camping, and regarding NOED giving you the pip, what the topic was that you guys started, then you would definitely not get an iri gatekeeper. we are talking about boosted killers in red ranks
0 -
And, no. Survivors crying is pretty much never an evidence. I got called tunneler because the first and third down was on the same guy while I downed and hooked someone else on the other side of the map and then returned to the 80% gen where I got the first guy, to find him again. Same for camper, you get called camper when you first kick a pallet and gen near the hook and then find that guy hiding with his medkit popping through the door.
0 -
Takes two to tango. NOED would carry them all the way to rank 1 if it was actually a good perk. But it's not, so good survivors at red ranks can trivialize NOED most of the time.
0 -
More like the bad killer gets to red rank because there's a ton of bad red survivors. People who see a killer face camping and they stop doing gens. Waiting for a chance to save only to make the poor strategy work for the killer. Whatever your opinion may be about the ruin nerf. Fact is when they made the survivors job easier, more newbies ranked up when they shouldn't have.
0 -
Because I am red rank myself as a Survivor?
Of course I'm going to assume they are my rank until proven otherwise in the results screen. And they usually are my rank.
Here's an example of a game I had right after Rank Reset:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/322/381210_20200516071947_1 - Copy.pngIf the Killer is Rank 6, then it's easy to assume they depipped and from Rank 5 (which is where you reset to if you've were in Red Ranks.)
0 -
Both sides are easy to hit red ranks. Maybe killer a bit harder but hex noed carries like swf on coms lol
1 -
1) Cleanse totems, it really isn't hard
2) The same could be said for Bad Survivors and their stockpile of 2nd Chance perks
3) You said it was Deathslinger, a pretty underwhelming killer who's only really good when you master him, so take that into account
4) If you're in Red Ranks, expect every possible perk, because killers actually put variety into their builds.
