So Many Survivor Mains In Forums Now

Since almost all the Killer's left. You can tell just at reading the responses to threads, and which ones getting upvotes. You can tell by looking at other game forums and seeing people talk about Dead by Daylight - how they left the game because playing Killer was too much stress.

Is it still difficult to get the Killers to come back even after the recent update?

Maybe people just change their opinions? I think the game is pretty balanced now, except for some stupid items/offerings and really skilled players.

If the game is "balanced" with an exception of "skilled players" than it's not really balanced... A game can have good players and still be balanced, you just have to balance the game properly.

    This ^

Idk why OP even had this in mind.

Just take a look at how many threads there were defending freddy, complaints about Keys, and DS.

Honestly, like I said in another thread, I'm thinking about just leaving the forum for now.

There's just too much extreme survivor-biased nonsense. People backseating, insulting, and judging killers for everything.

It gets to the point that survivors are justifying suicide on hook or disconnecting and actually being met with agreement rather than derision. I've never seen that in a gaming community before.

I don't know why people can't just let others play the game as they see fit and within the rules. I don't care if you bring four Brand New Parts and go insane on gens and loop shack all day because I'm trash and can't catch you. So why the endless harassment because I had the nerve to hit you?

Yep, I remember when the forum first started. A lot more veteran killer mains back then. Many of them are gone now.

Can't say that I blame them.

I talk about 5000+ hours. Everyone else plays a balanced game. So literally everyone.

Without a question, they have put a lot in the last patch + the 2 hotfixes.

Still from my perespective it isn't enough, but that is not important. The important thing is that every killer has it's own playerbase, like also many survivors only play with 1-2 characters regulary and to get more of the playerbase of killer X back into the game, they have also to do more for killer X.

From my position, they would need to do a lot more for the killer I had once main to get me back in the game as a player who regulary plays X hours/week and I think that the playerbases of other killers see it similar.*

Edit: Of course that differences from killer to killer, depending on the patches those killers got already in the past, or even because of all the "patches" (nerfs) they got in the past.

What's keeping me away is, with the exception of the newest survivor that came out with Oni, I have all the characters unlocked and all the perks. I even have 2 survivors p3, 3 killers p3+one of them has all perks. There's nothing left for me to really unlock anymore. During a double bp event I end up hording bloodpoints and I'm forced to spend them because I hit the cap.

My biggest grip is the MM. I haven't played in forever. Both my survivor and killer have deranked a lot. My survivor que times are terrible, but that can be attributed to my current rank, and if I find a match it's a newbie killer. I feel bad when that happens cause the new guy didn't stand a chance. When I play killer now whatever rank I am there's a strong possibility I'll get paired against reds. Before it was only when I got past a certain rank but now it can happen anytime I que up. I try a meme build or a "fun" killer and get destroyed by a 4 man of reds. I get pissed and switch to my try hard nurse and slaughter the next group. Only to learn the next group weren't a swf and potatoes. Then I go back to feeling guilty.

If there is such a word I am more of a hardcore casual gamer. I'll put a lot of time into a game to git gud but there comes a point where if I have to change the way I play to stand a chance then I'm no longer having fun. Then I play something else. With the old MM I used to play killer until I got close to red rank then I'd stop playing until the reset. I don't want to use my best killer and the same 4 perks every game. Sometimes I want to use a meh killer and a meme build but when I face red swfs it's just laughable. They run circles around me and say GG EZ, noob killer! This gets me angry, I switch to my real build and the next unfortunate group I come across gets screwed and they did nothing wrong. I used to have a reprieve. A way out of those try hard games but now that reprieve is gone. So I took Kote's advice and "Play something else".

I didn't join right when it started, but I do remember being here when it was completely killer dominated, I'd say it's even now. Miss some of them though.

If I'm being honest I think the forums are split into 3 different types of areas. The newer survivor mains who complain, all killer mains who complain and the people who think the game is pretty balanced bar a slight few changes.

I'm not saying all killer mains complain or all new survivors complain. I'm saying new survivors don't understand balance as well. I feel all (new and experienced) killer mains vary on how broken they feel they feel swf, ds or other things. Then the last group who I feel can understand each side and give perfect reasons on why they feel certain things are and aren't balanced.

I hope this makes sense. I would say right now the forums definitely are split evenly.

I definitely don't think there is more killer mains on the forums but I don't think there is more survivor mains either.

I wish there weren't "mains" in either side, just gamers who play both roles often enough to get all perspectives.

Killing has made me a better survivor and vice-versa, although these days I surv more due to playing with friends. But i never forget Mikey or my Piggy bae either, or the gameplay therin.

This is what I'm talking about. I could probably go through, and make a short list of the members actually talking about how the game is still unfun for Killer's even after the changes, and that is because all the other Killers left and still havn't come back. People are quick to say "Well there are still threads about DS, SWF, and Keys so clearly they didn't leave". That's all the small group of Killer's you have left to play with, and in those very threads you see them get harassed and critisized for even mentioning what they dislike about the game - simply only giving them more reason to leave.

It's almost like as if people just want all the Killer's to leave and have the dev's make the Killer role a bot at this point.

Don't get me wrong though, the changes so far have been good. The whole reason I still read the forums and play the game every so often (I'm only playing Survivor for now) is because I hope to see this game make a good comeback. I really don't want to see the game take the same direction as Deathgarden, even though it was looking like it was going that way before the recent update.

I can’t help but to not take this thread serious.

Do you have information that we don’t that would make your statements true? Or are you just (like many others) trying to speak it into existence.

Yes there is a lot of bias going on in the forums as with ALL forums. It comes from both sides.

I think we just live in times with a big oversaturation in about every aspect of life.

There are really good tv shows out there almost nothing from 20 years ago could match.

Same is true for movies, and games as well.

So, i think what happens is that people simply have no need to look back to a game they left. If they find something else, they are engaged in a new game/brand, or they are just hoping further to the next one.

Also, i usually dont read wow forums or starcraft forums anymore, because i stopped playing these games a long time ago. So even if really good changes were made, i doubt i would even know it.
