Should I Feel Bad?

I was playing a game yesterday and had the most peculiar killer. The person was playing as Spirit. I expected him to be very good at downing us quickly and I was right. At 5 gens he downed a Claudette. I went over to the Claudette and unhooked her. And out of nowhere came the Spirit. No phasing sound, no heartbeat. He tunneled the Claudette and downed her again. This time I walked over to her. Hidden in the grass was floating black hair. The Spirit was camping with Insidious. I was shocked. It's Spirit! She's already stronger than half the roster with a single brown add-on. Someone else unhooked Claudette and managed to tank a hit for her. The Nancy who saved got downed and then hooked. I rushed in before her heartbeat went away and unhooked Nancy. I ran in front of the killer and made her miss. We went on a run that lasted 3 gens. Sprint didn't even look at another survivor when we passed them. I eventually got downed and hooked. Just like with the Claudette I got saved before 2nd stage and rehooked after being tunneled. I got saved as the 4th gen was popped. I Lithed away and lost her with Fixated. I went to work on the last gen as Nancy got chased. Nancy was caught and soon hooked. I finished the last gen and ran to help Jane save Nancy. We unhooked Nancy, expecting needing to take a hit, but she had Adrenaline. I looped the killer as Claudette opened the exit gate. When we were all in the door way I clicked my flashlight and tbagged her as she stared.

should i feel bad because i was being an #########?

    survivor mains- no they camped

camping is a strategy not a good one but still viable.Just because someone does this does not mean they hate you or want to be mean by the looks of it it sounded like it was working(aka she was getting hits on you guys coming for the unhook),But whatever you survivors gotta tell yourself that toxic behavior is justified.

You should only feel bad if you’re camping someone as Bubba on TOP OF THE HOOK in the Hunress map. (There is 1 hook there that alloves it)

That thing is a free ticket straight to hell.

You did nothing wrong by beating her and all escaping. She got punished for camping by getting zero kills.

You ran her for 3 gens. I would say that she wasn't a very good killer or spirit at the very least.

    Demolishing her was enough.

I always take the high ground so Tbagging and clicking at the exit gates was in my opinion a crappy thing to do.

    Look at it like this,

She used a perk as intended.

You used an item to intentionally grief the killer. As well as using the crouch mechanic in such a way as to intentionally grief the killer.

I will ask you, who is more wrong and intentionally violating code of conduct behavior?

(Not judging you, i have learned to ignore it, just answering your question as honestly as possible)

Nah. If someone is going to play obnoxiously like that they should expect it.

The Spirit probably came here after the match and posted a 5 page essay on why swf is broken lol

I don't think you should "feel bad", no. At least not for very long.

Yes, you did something that has no other value than to be a middle finger and a "######### you" to the killer. No, it's not the end of the world.

Of course, on this forum, people are going to say that the Spirit player trying to kill survivors is far worse. So eh, not going to be much of a discussion.

Just like killers justify toxicity like leaving survivors to bleed out or other toxic behaviour by claming they had a bad game so there taking out there frustration on the next survivors. I've seen that excuse used by killers multiple of times and no one said anything against it. Majority of facecampers dont do it as a "valid strategy" unless there a rank 20. Most do it to ruin others fun

i can only speak about my experience as a killer but the only time i purposely let someone bleed out is because they went to a comer of a map with no hooks nearby so if i picked her up she would break out and the chase would start or i just let her die so i did and got all the survivors bm'ing me but whatever. Also when i have camped its mostly because i have 2 in the basement with 4 or more gens up so if i camp them its almost a guarantee win in my eyes im not trying to be toxic or be an ######### just doing what i think will help me win. I do believe you that killers can be toxic too but when i play and i never hit people on hook or talk ######### in post chat but i still get it regardless.

Camping and letting survivors bleed out is reasonable in your situations but when you bring insidous and facecamp at 5 gens, you do it to ruin the survivors fun not to 4k. which is why i feel like what the op did is justified

Theres an expression, 'Take an eye for an eye and leave the whole world blind'

Be the bigger person, win with dignity amd maybe the community as a whole may get a little less putrid.

At least that's mt theory. You do you of course

No you shouldn't feel bad. I would have t-bagged and flashlight clicked as well and made her either hit me out or I would have waited the time down to the last second before leaving.

It's a taunt and the entire purpose is to annoy the other side. It's then up to each individual whether or not it bothers them with some people getting extra annoyed for some reason. I'd say most online PvP games has some way to taunt and DBD is no different. People "shouldn't" get upset over it and people shouldn't be given the finger wag of disapproval for taunting.

Granted I'm more of a time and place kind of taunter. I only taunt at killers that play rather scummy in order to gain their attention as people that play scummy are normally the most effected. Sometimes they'll even throw the entire game because you t-bagged once by going on a forever chase and then camping. Frankly that's a win in my book.

People that taunt at every pallet just look silly and are generally just wasting their time. Unless you're a really good looper you're only helping the killer and in the case of said person being a good looper one simply has to abandon and move on. The taunt is there to keep your attention so don't play into it's hands.

I mean, sure, the ideal reaction is to not care about someone being rude.

That's not really an excuse to BE rude, though.

I would agree IRL but not so much when it comes to video games. The entire point of a taunt is to taunt which players should be allowed to do IMO. It can even give you some strategy when used properly.

It's no different in any other game with t-bagging or voice clips and heck, even single player games AI can taunt you with voice clips and such. I just don't see it as a bad thing to have or use in video games and while it may technically be "rude" it's such a minimal amount of rude it's silly. Like not holding a door open for someone levels of rude. It's inconsequential and unlike IRL it's all in fun.

I guess we all know what these kind of killers are doing when their „strategy“ works out. So don’t feel too bad as long as you don’t do it to „normal“ playing killers.

this is an online multiplayer game, being the better person in this case wouldn’t have suddenly changed their mind, they wouldn’t notice and go on with their „strategy“.

Yes. Stop being a dick. He was using a perk given to him by the devs for its intended purpose, that doesnt call for you being an #########
