I mean that's pretty clearly honey dripping on the skull, which also is a clear reference to Candyman's legend.

Very nice find - Although the way the new chapter has been described hardly fits Candyman. Candyman series did not shape nor create a new genre of horror. Its just another horror series. Not saying it may not be.

The setting appears to have pews. A feature common to a church, or other place of worship.
In a place of worship, one tends to engage in praise.

Yeah ive been saying all along its candyman. I dont understand why people put so much stock in Scott saying "its not Candyman, that would be stupid." Hes clearly stating an opinion. But yeah the mural matches pretty well and the 4 does look like honey

I beleve they said that it’s going to be a really iconic killer that everyone knows, and are close to their hearts and wanted it to be in the game for a long time. Candyman is like...who is he exactly? I’m a horror fan and never heard of it. A random noname killer with some way too obvious leaks that has nothing to do with what they said is unlikelly to be in the game. I’d say it’s Penniwise or maybe, just maybe Jason.

I don’t deny that there are Candyman fans, but I personally wouldn’t go as far as calling him “iconic”.
To me Iconic is someone like Jason, Freddy, Michael, Chucky, Leatherface, Ghostface.

That's so unfair though, Jason, Freddy etc are ICONIC.
Candyman was from the 90's where the Horror Genre was dying out so not many people know know about him but he still had a following.
Comparing him to Jason, Freddy etc is just unfair. It's like comparing the Babadook to Freddy.

Yes, but that’s the point here. Devs want the killer to be easily recognised and they said they go for the big boy licenses only. By that logic the next killer is a Freddy, Jason etc. tier character but Candyman isn’t so he can’t be it.

Chucky too small,haha,and they have pretty much every "legendary" licensed horror character. I'd be disappointed at this point. I can't even think of another character. I tried

Then who would it be? Throw a guess out. Chucky? The only ones I can think of would be super stupid or just wouldn't fit. I mean, Pennywise is more relevant than Candyman. But Candyman is about to have a new movie in June produced and part written by Jordan Peele,who is pretty big in the horror genre at the moment. As far as masked killers,the only ones I can think of are from You're Next,Strangers,and American Horror Story,but I'd say they are less relevant and not Legendary. Unless it's like The Thing,or The Predator,or a Xenomorph,which is already thinking outside the box. I've been a horror fan for like 30 years. Unless it's Jason,I got nothing. Sci Fi horror isn't really my thing. If it's a Creepypasta or something,I'm pissed.

It would be funny af if it was one of the killers from You're Next. That was a horror comedy. Might be that stupid thing from IT Follows. I guess that was kinda iconic and a new genre...sorta. But that's also an entity. I have a feeling it's either going to be Candyman and people will be mad,or it'll be something so stupid it makes even more people mad. They already have every killer I would personally consider iconic as a huge horror fan,besides Chucky,but that feels like it would be a slap in the face. Pinhead I guess would be my last guess,but that's a reach as far as a horror "legend".

Sorry but I believe the devs have said somewhere already that the skulls have NOTHING to do with the new chapter. They're simply a nice little reference to the tally marks of the logo. Not only that but if you compare the two, the anniversary skulls match up near perfectly with the tally mark skulls. Whoever at the art department did a great job though, especially with the black ooze that is pouring out to make the tally marks themselves.

I don’t know what’s your problems with Pennywise. They made Freddy and he’s pretty much an entity too with limitless power as long as he’s feared by his prey. That’s exatcly how Pennywise works he just don’t need you to be in the dream world.

I really hope it's not Candyman...not after these "emotional milestone", "big horror francise" and "iconic killer" comments from BHVR. They can't hype chapter 16 so hard, just to present a "side francise" with a "B-Killer" (or bee killer if you will). That would be very disappointing, to say the least. Hopefully they reveal something big...something anniversary worthy.
