DOCTOR COUNTER PLAY?

Hey everyone,

I'm finding the new doctor re work quite hard to play against. Just wondering what some of you other survivors are doing to counter him.

Thanks for your time <3

Do gens, loop him and hide in lockers to rescue hooked survivors. You cannot hide from him. The second you hear his terror radius, run or do a gen, you can't HIDE.

I don't have much fun playing against him.

So when he goes to shock sometimes they are anticipating you camping the pallet or continuing predictable pathing so they can cut you off with the slowdown.

Generally you use unique pathing to cycle through loops to avoid any shock therapy.

Don't camp pallets please that's what they want

As was said before, don't camp pallets. You already know that though. :P

Also, you might've already noticed this too but he has an audio queue even from very far away while he's charging up his static blast. Use this opportunity to hop into a locker or run outside the edge of his terror radius, if you're close enough to do either one.

One other thing I don't see a lot of people say is that he's somewhat of a mindgame-able killer. If you give him the impression you're going to run for a pallet to try to drop it, you could just run even more and he'll lose distance on you. Or even sometimes you can get him to throw his shock in a certain direction he thinks you're going to go, and then you can go a different direction and end up dodging it sometimes.

I'm not a pro or Doctor expert necessarily but these are all things that I try to keep in mind when I go against him.

If hes good and using shock therapy to prevent pallet drop, then drop the pallet early. If he sucks loop him like normal. Thats it, hes not complicated

To add to the stuff others have already said, it's generally a pretty good idea to hop in a locker when he's fixing to hook someone. If he has BBQ it saves you from that and also a lot of Docs (including myself) tend to use the static blast after a hook to quickly find the next victim.

Edit: There's also Calm Spirit that keeps you from screaming. Not a meta perk I know but it also helps out against anything other killers have that make you scream.

lockers. a lot of doctors use their static blast after hooking someone, so if you're within his TR hop in a locker to avoid it. unless he's a big brain he probably won't come looking for you. other than that just watch how he plays and adapt, some doctors who shock in advance require dropping pallets early to avoid the stun whereas others shock a bit too late so you can run a standard loop without much fear. ime the latter is more common, they can be so focused on shock therapy they actually extend loops for you. good luck!

I actually just noticed the mind bomb audio cue today! Thank you for the advice, it definitely is giving me a way better idea of what do do.

    I appreciate you all! <3

I mean this works for a bit, but if you drop the pallets to early, he just breaks them, and if you do it to late like you said he just uses his ability, and then you get hit.

I mainly just don't want to have to rely on the map in order to counter a killer because that can be very unreliable ( bad loops, bad survivours that use all the pallets before you get in a chase, ect.). I get he isn't that complicated most of the time, but if they're using whispers I just find it virtually impossible to counter play them, then you end up replying on the map, which as you probably know is a horrible fail safe hahaha.

The other dudes advice was way better than mine, listen to him 😊

Manage your distance well. Other than that he’s not that bad. Freddy might be a bit stronger but at least with Doc, you can often go for at least 1 loop if he shocked you from far enough, while with Freddy you need do drop the pallet early and never be greedy. And yes camping pallets against him is a death wish.

While you loop, sometimes you have to dodge his shock attack to make it to the pallet. It works time to time.

Another small piece of advice: try to blind him with flashlight, while he charging shock therapy. Noone expects it, most of the Docs will try to avoid the light, forcing them to miss shock. That advice is kinda situational, tho.

    Throw the pallet down early.

My brother (when he plays .-.) runs Calm Spirit every game to not get screwed by a shock. I personally use lockers (only a bit though) but play very aggressively on the gens to try to rush it.

One thing that hasn't come up yet but may be useful: The Doctor loses Bloodlust when he uses Shock Therapy. So if you're up against a Doctor who makes heavy use of his shocks that's one less thing you have to worry about.

All this locker talk makes me think of Iron Maiden Doctor.

Just bringing Calm Spirit makes him a non issue for me.

Games that I don't have Calm Spirit I try to stay as far as possible to him and get nervous and dont play so well.

Run Calm Spirit and stay in the opposite side of the map in the beginning of the game. Hiding in lockers during a chase only gets you so far because if they can't find you afterwards with Static Blast, they'll know you're in a nearby locker.

doge the shock, he can't swing immediately after and then use the pallet or the window.

if you don't think you can just drop pallets early and then abandon the loop like you do against clown

i impossible to hide from him because lots of docs including myself use whispers so if i use my blast and i dont hear anyon most likely i would lookf for the 2 o 3 lockers nearby and ussually there is someone, the counter at loops was already said, however jumping into a locker is a good idea except when the doc has time to check nearby, but early mid game is not a terrible idea if u time correctly, somehow because i wont use my ability till i see someone with my whispers, not immediately after i hooked someone so that technique is not really reliable... i play doc very often even if he is not my main, and when i go agaisnt him u jsut run at pallets dont just campp, and soemtimes is not a terrible idea dropping the pallets earlier...

Use lockers to avoid his Static Blast, drop pallets early to avoid his stun, and you can run Calm Spirit to avoid screaming.

The Doctor has a unique Terror Radius music now. So at the beginning of the match you can identify who you are up against before he start charging Static Blast. If there is a locker nearby hop in it. If there are none, run away from the TR before you get shocked. This won't work 100% of the times but it can prevent the Doctor from finding you immediatly.

You can hide from the Doctor if you are smart about it, and Calm Spirit isn't necessary at all. Avoiding the Static Blast trough the whole match is actually important, since Madness is how the Doctor can delay the survivors efforts accross the map despite being a completly regular speed M1 killer. The Blast also provide a lot of information to the Doctor, so don't just give it to him freely.

As a doctor main I’d say the most effective thing is to just waste his time. It’s makes me mad that people do it but it makes them escape easy since his ability doesn’t make you die any faster, just lets him track you

Exactly right you need to throw pallets early to avoid being shock stuck against them, or keep moving to the next loopable area. Trying to stun a Dr with a pallet will almost guarantee a hit these days. Calm Spirit is the direct counter to screams but is little used.
