Salty Endgame Chat "Dont say GG"

LordGlint
LordGlint Member Posts: 8,685

Been awhile since I've shared one of these, but this is once again just a reminder... Just because you lose in a videogame, doesn't mean you should be an ass in the endgame chat. Take the L with abit of decency and just say GG. This lot were relentless with flashlight blinds, pallet stuns and head on stuns on Lerys...which against another killer and build might've been problematic for me. I'm sure you can figure out what went wrong for them.

Darn, lol. Personally I like to think I gave em a pretty good match considering how frightening a chainsaw weilding killer coming out of nowhere must feel with them CONSTANTLY having the oblivious status effect on, lol. I kept ping ponging from 1 survivor to the next pretty rapidly to build stacks, get rid of pallets and get people off gens.

Yep, I've been trying out Ghostface and have produced a bit of extra salt.

People don't react well to stealth. I can't blame them, really. It can be frustrating to not be able to rely on the usual audio cues.

Still, I love picking people up right off gens. 😂

This is why I don’t like GhostFace users 😀 when I play as survivor. Another is when GhostFace dances when I’m on a hook and I wasn’t even salty to them.

In all honesty, I don't think he's necessarily overpowered, but it does feel like he bullies people a lot on some maps and some areas.

That said, I don't think I've even touched the crouch button yet. Which I probably should. I've been a little too fixated on being a sneaky sneaker.

i dont get the point of this post why do they have to say gg?.

  • NinjaDette1
    NinjaDette1 Member Posts: 1,289

I’m not really the crouch type in game to be honest. The only time I do it is when the killer is making way towards my location.

Instead of “ok mate” you should have just responded “GGEZ”.

I always write ggwp when I finish a match, even if I played poorly, the opponents were just way out of my league or if I did well. If they throw some salt, I just reply with GGEZ to each comment they post afterwards. It’s funny to see their reactions to it.

One of the worst killers, using one powerful add-on, with perks that only work if survivors allow them to (aside from PWYF, but that means wasting loads of time vs a single obsession if no one stuns you), and salt...

You destroyed them due to their inability to understand the game situation and adapt.

    GOOD JOB ^_^

Same. A good game can be one that I died in too.

I feel like people get so bent up about not getting a "gg" back. It's not personal and I have other matches to go to. My wins don't need a gg as validation.

I question why they kept stunning you when Nemesis is obvious and PWYF is almost certainly tagging along especially on bubba.

  • Rivyn
    Rivyn Member Posts: 3,022

Hasn't 'gg' been diluted, though? Normally, I only see 'gg' when one side has trounced the other. 4k escape? Survivors 'gg.' 4k kill? Killers 'gg.' If it comes from the losing side, I'll take it as genuine, but when it comes from the winning side, that comes off as sarcastic.

It's just a form of politeness in a setting where we can't shake hands or bow or something. It's not really supposed to be taken too literally.

This is definitely the kind of quality content that I'd expect from a Trusted poster. Level-headed, rational and constructive, just like the people in that chat convo.

Man they must hate playing against a Oni, if they think slugger/slugging is a bad term. Is the first thing that came to mind when i saw that.

Which is why i am of the mind set, i'm cool with it if no one says anything in post game chat. For maybe they were not feeling it and would rather get onto the next. Since it far better to have pure silence, than to have insults thrown your way. Since the person who didn't say anything, is at least decent enough just to hop onto the next game. That and in the case someone dies super early on, i figure most survivors will just hop onto the game. Rather than waiting one out, due to blood points or simply wanting to play the video game some more.

The Crouch button does have legit uses on ghostface. For sneaking up on others or at certain loops, to help avoid being reveal due to smaller reveal box while crouching, if the walls are tall enough, you can crouch and they will have no idea where you are coming from, leading to some fun mind games.

I had a similar experience the other day. I was queuing up a Legion game on my partner's account, to do his "break 20 pallets" challenge. he has limited perks available for killers, but lots of bloodpoints, so I splice together the best build I could. I notice that one is a twitch streamer according to his name, so I used a red mori in case they're toxic. They were indeed teabagging like mad right at the beginning, even though they had no progress at the time and were wasting pallets. So I mori that one and sacrifice the others, with 2 gens to go at the end, even though I didn't have any slowdown perks. I wondered why they did some of the things they did, so It occurs to me I can just go into the chat and ask, right? Well two of them were actually talking in one stream it turns out, so I got 2 perspectives. the link below is of the Feng Min in menus after I Mori'd him, while his Dwight friend is still in game:

Thats a 3 hour video with no timestamp about which part is you. Either way though, this can be considered naming and shaming.

I know fungoose uses it, but Ive been usin nemesis+pwyf since Oni's released and been using ruin+surveillance since the ruin change.

i say GG when it IS a good game, killer or surv and i am able to send a message, i do it with a smiley too

  • LordGlint
    LordGlint Member Posts: 8,685

I typically dont start bashing people if I have a hard time. I might get a little heated if I get completely wrecked, get DSed at the exit gates by someone who clicked flashlights while teabagging to safety and all that jazz... but the worst thing I'll do is leave without saying anything. I never got people like this who feel the need to be nasty.

  • Mushwin
    Mushwin Member Posts: 4,606

People do it to engage a reaction, i have in the past gone back at them for it, mostly people do it when they have lost or failed, but i learned from a friend best way is to smile, i had someone other say say i was tunelling and i wasn't, salty as i killed them, i just smiled, said back isn't it wonderful and they are like no i am a pos, i just kept smiling and saying good things back and know what it works! lol but i am sorry to hear it

I should probably get nemesis. I've been using pwyf and furtive with most killers since GF released

The combo is REALLY good on 1 shot down killers. I mostly just use it on Bubba and Plague, although I'll also put it on if I'm running Myers with a tomestone piece build.

Yeah people like that dont give a sugar, they do not care, have no respect at all and best way is to laugh it off it really is, i took a killer break due to this sort of stuff, not to mention fustration lol but just smile like Mary Poppins it makes people like that more peeved

    "Your build is disgusting"

Basically every survivor perk is a meta perk.

    ok.

  • OldHunterLight
    OldHunterLight Member Posts: 3,001

Doesn't look like a very mean build to me but ok, this reminds me of a match I had like 2 days ago, where I started using legion (no perks other than the main 3) on pc, where I barely started and the guy got so upset at me and the other survivors because we played the game correctly and that survivor didn't, that survivor wished death to all of us and our families, hoped that we all got hiv stuff like that, we all just say gg and left

I get worse messages and behavior when they win/are winning. I turned off messages on PS4 and they started sending friend requests with messages attached to get around it. Not quite as frequently toxic as when I was on PC,but still. You win you get hate, lose get hate, stay at the hook one second too long, hate.

HA! 'You have a disgusting build.' Says the group with some of the most overpowered survivor perks around like Iron Will, quick and quiet, DS, and Borrowed Time. With flashlights. Clearly the irony is lost once players get salty after a loss. It's like they are basically telling you,

"Hey, how dare you have a good build for your killer. You should obviously just pick the worst killer perks and let us bully the ######### out of you. Your not allowed to play good only we are allowed to play good! Bah, a killer doing his job killing us, the nerve! Your supposed to just let us win, as we are entitled to it."

To all entitled players out there on survivor and killer side, please get the message into your head. You are not entitled to a win. You have to earn it. It's called putting in effort, try it sometime.

'Form of politeness' in a game with a chat setting. Nah, don't buy it. I've been in enough games where it's meant to be sarcastic. Besides, it's DbD. Just about everybody is toxic, so even your 'form of politeness' is devalued.

Want to be 'polite?' Say nothing and move on to the next match.

Love it when a survivor calls you bad when they died. Just there like "So what does that make you?"

You are always going to get spicy post game chat. Especially when you camp, tunnel, or slug people - because its not fun to be on the receiving end or have a teammate be incapacitated by any of those things.

And while Killer's have plenty of potential in-match retribution, either in the existing match causing them strife or the next match because they strap on some iri addons and a mori, survivors have literally nothing that relieves their frustration except..........end game chat.

So no. Survivors are not going to continually take it up the arse by a killer who gives zero ######### about their enjoyment of the game and just GG you at the end. Just like most killers don't just let teabagging, flashlighters have nice safe unhooks and a shot at the hatch or save their moris for last hook after a match where they got annihilated.

    Suck it up.

    GG

    Leave chat.

    Problem solved.

    LordGlint Member Posts: 8,685

Just because you take everything someone says as sarcasm...doesnt mean it is.

Heres a game I had recently that I went ahead and took a screenshot of proof that there are infact people out there who can lose and still keep their composure. We ended up chatting for abit and laughed at some of the highlights from the match. Personally...I say "GGs" in about 95% of my matches. I'll admit every now and then I have a game so rough I dont even wanna see the score screen and just hit the continue button immediately.

    another example...

  • LordGlint
    LordGlint Member Posts: 8,685

Except I didnt do any of that... and no, just because you had a rough game doesnt mean your allowed to blow off steam by barraging anyone with harassment in the endgame chat.

  • LALYTHIA
    LALYTHIA Member Posts: 1,656

Your chat indicates otherwise. I wasn't there, so I'm not going to pretend to know for certain. However, it doesnt negate anything I said. The fact is, Killers have in game retribution, survivors have post-match venting. That's how it is. You don't deserve a GG when someone doesn't feel it was a good game. You don't get to control how someone expresses their frustration or feedback with your play style. And you have yet to post anything that is a "barrage" of harassment. Someone called you disgusting? You're gonna live.

  • Shocktober
    Shocktober Member Posts: 678

Head-on is not meta. It's a meme perk for bullying killers worse than you, or for SWF.

in solo Q, the standard 3-4x second chance perks are way more effective.

  • alaenyia
    alaenyia Member Posts: 650

Why on earth should anyone tell you "GG" if it was indeed not a good game. I don't particularly think your build here is that sweaty so I am not sure why they are attacking that, but only 1 guy has a flashlight here. So unless the other 3 got real lucky with the chests I doubt it was relentless with the flashlights. And this post-chat is not spicy at all. Not a bad word, not racial/gender/genital slurs, nothing about your mom, nothing. I am not even sure why you are complaining.
