Why does Surge make Survivors act weird?
Lately I've been running Surge+Pop on most Killers and Survivors always get super spooked when they see Surge activate. There's almost always a moment where I see Survivors turn around to look at the gen that got Surged. I think they either don't like that perk or don't know about that perk's existence and are confused.
Anyone wanna give me some insight?

i think it may be because surge isn't used too often (even though it's an underrated perk). i too get spooked sometimes when surge goes off! but that's because i normally don't expect a generator to just suddenly explode. LOL

That used to be me months ago when I didnt know about Demos perk. I’d say most survivors dont know about that perk since its very rare on killers so they think they messed something up

No clue but I wanna ask if you use Surveillance with it as well because I find it works great.
It's like running a non-hex new Ruin alongside Pop. I love it, man.

I use Pop and Surge on Freddy and Legion all the time.
The generators near the Survivor hook auto-regress so I can make a beeline for my next Pop. Saves time and helps me spread the gen pressure.
I don't like Surveillance much, personally, I think Discordance is the premier generator tracking perk and its great on its own doesn't need any combos to be extremely useful

Just a warning, if you have Pop active and then Surge activates you lose Pop. Seems to be a potential bug, I wouldn't go using them together for now.
As for why survivors get weird, probably because Surge isn't use a lot and it takes a moment to realize what happened. If you are on the gen it acts like an instant failed skill check so people may look around or something to make sure they aren't lagging, because invisible/auto-fail skill checks usually only happen when you lag. It also makes the gen sparks red which is the same as Pop so if they weren't on the gen they might think you have Pop when it was actually Surge.

Haven't they fixed that with the latest patch?

Because no one uses Surge.
Survivors never expect it because it's such a rare perk to encounter. I remember my first encounter with the perk was 4 months after the ST chapter release and my heart dropped. Scared the hell out of me and I was just wondering what the hell happened. Other survivors probably also have this reaction due to it's lack of use.

Patch 3.7.0 (PTB) - 7 April 2020 // Patch 3.7.0 - 28 April 2020
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue that caused the perk Pop Goes the Weasel to go on cooldown if a generator regresses due to the perk Surge activating.
Can confirm that they fixed that :)

It's so useless that they don't even know it exists
