Flashlights need a rework

You should have to hold the button for at least half a second before it turns on, to prevent flashlight click spam blinds, also it should consume more energy if you click spam, odd bulb needs to be removed as well

The whole idea of Flashlights is stupid. You should not be able to make a Killer lose their hook after a successful chase.

killer chases dude for 30 seconds to finally down then but gets flashed in 2 seconds and loses the guy and sunned for 5 seconds. I would say at least the flashlight should break if you save someone.

The only thing I really want is getting rid of the clicky clicky. It's just annoying.

U just gave a good reason to get rid of clicky clicky. You have a survivor not doing gens thus ruining the game for the other survivors and to a certain extent killer too. It's like facecamping but less impactful.

Flashlights are fine. Saves require some precision, so a delay would make it nearly impossible to get the saves. Click spam, who cares? They can click all they want. It wastes their time and lets you know where they are even when you can't see them. If flashlights bother you so much, use Franklin's Demise. Most players don't expect it and it can throw them off their game, and slow things down a bit if they try to retrieve them. You might actually get some extra downs out of it, because they tend to take risks trying to get their flashlight back.

man macro flashlights are the definition of annoying.- used to actually be BANNABLE because the engine couldnt take those clicky clickys and crash, it doesnt happen anymore but still is annoying. and shouldnt be possible to do is actually annoying to the other players aswell.

apart from that flashlights are fine, are not op face walls and youll be ok i fear more 4 medkits than 4 flashlights. not toolboxes now becuase they got nerfed but flashlights are the item i fear less EXCEPT if they try those stupid locker saves WICH imo shouldnt be possible AND SHOULD GET ADRESSED becasue it doesnt have any counterplay, even if only happened once to me and it was a long ago.

The Killer knows not to position themselves where they might get lit up, and that they can leave the person on the ground and chase the flashlight user, if not also downing them, at least away so they can pick up their freshly downed Survivor. And if that Survivor also gets up, then you know they either used their one Unbreakable or there's just one person on the generators, which means you've successfully stalled the game and put pressure on the map, even if it was just Survivors goofing off. Helps you snowball a little easier.

What needs to be fixed is being able to blind when not in the FoV. But flashlights themselves are fine.

    I totally need this.

You mean SWF. Which is given a far better chance at flashlight saves. Devs giving an advantage to SWF? What a shocker.

Flashlights are super-weak and are countered by just looking at a wall. Even if there is no wall, the Killer can hear a Survivor approaching or simply can turn around which makes it harder to save someone. Let alone that most Survivors dont know the timinig anyway and use their Flashlight for ineffective Pallet Blinds instead.

And well, Flashlight Safes are probably the most skillful thing a Survivor can do.

I save people regularly if I find a flashlight, and I'm playing solo. Not every player is a complete potato and not every team you face that kicks your ass is SWF, whether you like it or not. What a shocker, huh?

As far as the topic is concerned. They only need to remove the ability of being blinded outside of the killer's FOV. Other than that flashlights are completely fine. If you're annoyed by the click spamming then bring Franklin's if you see a flashlight in the lobby. If you get blinded regularly, bring Lightborn. You have all the tools you need to counter the survivors.

You don't like people pamming M2 with a flashlight ok, but I think neither survivors like you spamming Ctrl to tbag. Nice username

They maybe just apply mute cooldown to it

if you click once it wont make 'click sound' for next 5 sec or something

other than than flashlights are fine.

Rework your skin, it's to thin. Make it thicker.

Some of the addons need to be reworked for the flashlight, mainly the bulb addons which are nearly useless

If you get flashlighted then that's your fault. Flashlight saves now require to know the timing and the killer not facing a wall. If you often get flashlighted just face the wall when picking up someone and if you can't, just look around for people with a flashlight before piciking up. If someone has a flashlight you are likely to get a FREE HIT. So most of the time the flashlight save is well deserved and this is the case of you needing to be better.

    Clicky-clicky are indeed annoying though.

The constant clicking is annoying but its whatever. I just give them an extra smack when theyre on the hook

Flashlights are fine the way they are, only certain bug interactions should get fixed (recently the blind radius seems a bit bigger than it should be as an example and some blinds go trough solid objects for some reason).

LOL odd bulb isnt even good anymore and you're wanting THAT removed?

Then again, people clicking a flashlight apparently offends you, so that shouldn't surprise me.

You want teabagging removed too, dont you?

Flashlights are fine these days. Limiting the spin click wouldn't hurt. The only thing I really want is an option for it to Grey screen out instead of the blind we have. While this one is far better than the retina searing white screen we used get, it's just plain ugly now.

As long as they can manage to refrain from reactivating any old flash bugs, they're in a decent spot.

As a player that plays primarily as killer to avoid the long MM queues, I have no issue with flashlights and do not believe they need nerfed or altered in any way. 1 out of 200 times, a player might get a flashlight save on a teammate, they are soooo easily countered. Even better than that, they wasted time not being on a gen, or cleansing a totem, or healing a teammate...so they can linger around me and fail a flashlight save attempt, and now after the player is hooked, you don’t have to wait at all to begin your next chase.

Flashlights are more useful to attempt to get a bit of distance while at a safe pallet, but this is also easily countered with mao awareness. Where’s the strongest spot near this location? That’s probably where they are headed.

I vote no on altering flashlights, and I wished every survivor brought one every game.

I just think the controller handling should be better/easier. I never use flashlights because of that. (But then again, I should try with the new higher sensitivity..)

Gyro-controls like splatoon on switch would be nice. For flashlights and Huntress/Deathslinger and maybe even nurse?

Not once have I said that all my Killer losses were due to SWF. I have said that losses to SWF are far more unpleasant and impactful due to the fact there is far higher chance they will engage in bullying and draw it out for their own amusement. Not that I would expect you to understand nuance.

Do you say the same thing when a survivor complains of camping and tunneling?

  • EmpireWinner
    EmpireWinner Member Posts: 1,054

    Yea, I would actually

Camping allows others to do gens and punishes the killer

Tunneling is a valid strategy unless you have ds
