Anyone else get SUPER greedy with pallets?
Or is it just me?
Like, even if I know I'll die, I'll try my best to preserve the pallet, and it usually ends up with my chases ending way earlier than they should. Does anyone else greed it to this extent? Or am I just weird?

Depends on the killer. If its Doctor then nah, but if its Trapper than definitely.

Yeah, and you should see me when it's a Huntress lol, I almost never drop it because they wind up, until they eventually stop then I get the stun.

Pallet greed can get you in trouble, but I suppose it's better than throwing pallets at the drop of a hat.
At least when you're greedy you generally have the right idea even if it gets you into trouble in the short term. You just have to improve execution and you'll be golden. Whereas throwing pallets willy-nilly might seem like it gets you out of trouble, but is a bad habit you might never learn to break.

Yeah, broke it ages ago. I kinda greed on purpose sometimes, just to save some pallets, like Shack only to have a Meg drop it without looping it once...

Yes, when I have dead hard

Its funny to see the number of ppl who greed pallets when I'm playing Bubba thinking I'll swing through it, only to walk through it and pull out the chainsaw. Its at this moment they often panic and try to go BACK to the pallet...but its too late.

I don't know if I'd call it greedy with pallets, but I generally try not to use pallets unless I absolutely have to. Windows are plan A for me, pallets are plan B, and even then I'd usually rather go down than use a really good pallet.
Unless it's a Huntress, then I'll absolutely run around a pallet for 30 seconds as they keep pulling out a hatchet.

I stopped after getting dedicated for 10000 times. Nowdays only when the map is terrible or my team is slow with gens. Otherwise there's no point when there's 20 other palllets and gens are flying.

I'm only greedy when it's a really good pallet, i.e. Shack or that one on Lery's that cuts the hallway in half. I almost never use them. Otherwise I only throw them down if I am already injured and can't do another loop. But seeing as I play a lot of Dance With Me + Lithe nowadays, who needs pallets right?

I've recently noticed that a lot of killers are trying to bait pallets i.e swinging through them. If the survivor panics and drops it, they get hit through the pallet. If they don't drop it, they don't get hit and they get another loop. So I've tried to call when a killer is trying to do this and I think I've gotten pretty good at it. Extended a lot of chases this way. So yeah I greed pallets and it usually works in my favour.

I always hate pallet junkies. Ive fought some really cocky survivors who've dropped almost an entire maps worth of pallets thinking they're noob3. I feel bad for their teammates in this case because it makes the match 10x harder for them without pallets.

The early drop into the Lithe in the opposite direction when they go around is my move.
As long as its not Shack pallet or anything

I know someone who has been playing DBD since 2017, they still just run to pallets and throw them down without much thought. The amount of times I've seen him throw down pallets when the killer was chasing me.
Pallet efficiency is an important skill to have, as it allows you or your team mates to reuse those loops later on in the game. When I play killer in the early game I try and chase the survivor who isn't efficient with pallets. Meaning the survivor team will have a lack of resources in mid to late game.
Despite spending the majority of my games being chased by the killer, I often only need to use one or two pallets.

Yeah, one of my favorite stories as a killer is a game where - literally in the first minutes of a game - I saw a survivor and before I was even really close to them, they beelined to shack, threw the pallet, and teabagged behind it like they believed they did something amazing. Great job, buddy! 🤣

Oh yeah, when they swing through it I just keep running lol, just to preserve it for a little longer.

Lithe is probably the best perk in the game for pallet efficiency tbh then. Using that, you can preserve jungle gym and shack pallets for the whole game.

I'm not too greedy, expect I have not been hooked yet, just one gen left. But when it is a killer where the pallet gives way more value than against others, I drop them even earlier. For example if I see a fenzying Legion running towards me and I know there are too many survivors around or one working on a gen near, then I camp the pallet, take the hit and cancel the power, to hide the other survivor(s). Or when I can decently deny the Oni his first power charge, to avoid early snowballing. Or when I can cancel a corrupt purge. Or when facing Bubba, cuz he is a poor guy and deserves some early pallet drops XD

Pallets have variable value. Some survivors are super convicted, in that you should always take the hit before dropping the pallet. Some straight up waste pallets. I'm sure that judicious utilization of the pallets is necessary, but the purpose of the pallet is to prolong the chase as well as put a barrier between you and the killer, for your safety.
As long as you have some resource management skill in play, you *should* be dropping every pallet you *need* to until the gens pop and the gate is opened.
Of course the killer has to commit to chasing you to run the full 5 minute loop, but that's usually the case in low and mid ranks.

I personally prefer sprint burst as it's my favourite exhaustion perk in the game.
Although when I do use lithe I use dance with me, made a rank 3 Billy DC whilst I was trying to do the Dance with Me rift challenge.

Ran it for a bit, SB I mean, but came back to Lithe. Idk what it is about Lithe, but my playstyle is just set with it now. After the exhaustion nerf, I changed to this playstyle since I thought SB was trash (I was obviously wrong), and now I'm so used to Lithe lol, I can't switch it lol.

yes, but every time I see the randoms just wasting pallets / camping pallets, smth dies inside of me.
Played duo swf yesterday and after like 3 gens all pallets were gone. Killer was probably like: thats free real estate right here.

It all depends on how the killer plays, what killer they are playing, and how safe the pallet is.
If they are HARD respecting pallets or keep swinging early and I’m at a long wall, you better believe I’m looping that pallet for as long as I possibly can.
Killers that don’t respect pallets are the most threatening though. I typically won’t respect pallets as killer, I usually eat them especially if it’s a pallet I hate like those Ormond/Yamaoka pallet loops with a long wall right beside it.

When I play Survivor I'm only really "greedy" with the important pallets otherwise I usually try to bait the hit for BPs cause I'm playing for fun/BPs not to really try hard. When I'm killer I don't respect pallets and end up eating quite a few because I can usually get a hit in exchange and they end up wasting a pallet.

I wouldn't say I am greedy with Pallets, but I have noticed that I tend to drop pallets like crazy if I am being chased by a ranged Killer like Huntress or Deathslinger.
God Pallet is not to be touched though, unless you're forced to. Tank the hit for the God Pallet, do not touch it.
