What was I supposed to do?

I’ve just had a match where there were 3 gens left standing and two survivors left. Both were playing as the stereotypical Claudette (brown clothes, Urban Evasion and Spine Chill) and I was probably circulating the map for a solid 10 minutes before I eventually found one of them. Neither of them touched a single gen in that time. They simply waited for the other to die. It ended with one of them getting the hatch as I just wanted the match to be over with. They weren’t technically AFK as they were moving around. The problem is, they literally just hid. How was I supposed to find a Claudette hiding inside of a bush with ease on a map like Yamaoka Estate? For reference, I was playing as Michael. So I had no way to flush them out of hiding.

I stood away from the gens at one point to see if that would give them more of an incentive to try to repair one, but nope. They just stayed hidden. Does this count as taking the game hostage? I was so close to just disconnecting, but why should I receive a DC penalty and lose BP just because of players like this? It’s so frustrating. Now I know why a lot of players use Doctor when it’s a lobby full of Claudette’s. Players like this give her such a bad name. It’s a shame.

Has anybody else experienced this before?

    Hello Survivor.

    You have two options.

Attempt to repair the generator in order for you both to have a chance to escape, but risk being chased by a patrolling killer.

Or, you can wait and hope the other survivor is found and killed before you, and hope to find the hatch.

    Live or die:

    Make your choice.

....seriously it is irritating. It's best to keep looking for them and as soon as you find one, hook them and make sure they don't get unhooked. You then can hopefully close the hatch and activate EGC, unless the other survivor has found the hatch which is probable. At least that ties up the game.

You can use Whispers for these situations but for the most part if more than one survivor is simply hiding and doing nothing they will be difficult to find.

I don’t really want to use that perk as I’ve already got the right build for me. It’s just ridiculous that they don’t receive a penalty. It should count as holding the game hostage as I can’t get out until they’ve been found and that’s easier said than done when a Claudette on that map is basically a cloaked Wraith. 😂

This game needs a proper timer for matches to end.

I agree completely. I just don’t get why any survivor would want to hide for so long. It’s boring for both parties involved. When I’m in that same situation, I just attempt to fix the generator and if I die. I die. Onto the next one.
