Penalty after leaving game as survivor, why?

I understand why u get a penalty after leaving, but did u ever think of "leaving for help".

I just had a really toxic slugging Legion, i told my pre-mate to go to the hatch so i can leave and she can escape. I just got a 3 min ban, why tho? U should overthink that system plss

To somehow prevent destruction of game experience. One disconnect, and game is finished for survivors.

    It don't working anyway.

Yeah that is what they call a tactical disconnect. What you are suppose to do is work together to escape. If you wanted your friend to escape then you should intercept the chase then lure the killer away while she runs to the hatch. Disconnecting leads to a ban and loss of bloodpoints so why do it?

How should i lure the killer away if i am downed????? GG Dude

Sacrificing yourself on the hook is what you're supposed to do. Not disconnecting. Disconnecting is removing yourself from the game, dying on a hook is being part of the game - albeit more or less losing.

They have the option to leave the game right there. If they don't want people to do it, take the option away. They are penalizing people for using an option they are given. Plus if you are in a toxic game with people holding the game hostage you are penalized for wanting to get out and get into a real game.

The option is there for the people that need it; whether to get out of a "hostage game" or to deal with real life.

The thing is, hostage games aren't common. Plus you can save footage from it and use it to report the offending player(s), because that is a VERY bannable offense. It's also harder for survivors to take the game hostage, so if you're encountering it a lot, swap sides and enjoy the killer side of life for a bit (it's better than it used to be).

As far as real life interruptions (maybe from some kind of health emergency or just answering the door), if its not something that you are willing to temporarily AFK for, then it will probably take the length of your 5-min penalty to finish sorting it out. No-harm, no-foul. If you're being interrupted so much as to rack up a really long penalty... well, maybe you should be playing something solo that you can pause instead.

It's not that this is something they don't want players to use. They just don't want people to ABUSE the option to disconnect (such as with rage-quitting or these 'tactical disconnects'). And before the penalty existed, a lot of players DID abuse this power.

Going back to the top: 'Tactical disconnecting' is basically an exploit anyway. With this tactic, survivors are abusing a game mechanic to try and get one survivor a free escape. Hopefully they'll just implement some kind of short delay (equivalent to the sacrifice animation) on the hatch opening when the penultimate survivor quits, it would probably kill off this strategy.

If everyone is being slugged and you don't want to wait a simple 5 minute timer, take a breath, go drink some water. The max slug time is 4 minutes anyway so you win nothing by quitting.

Only 4 minutes bleedout. Wasn't it 5 minutes? To do all gens when the killer gets dicked on? Youre talking about ingame time where 15 secs are already a huge deal.

4 ingame minutes are very long.

LOL I play Hag, I still get disconnects hahahah had 3 last night. That basement build make em give up

It is getting worse again unfortunately, it is also not real simple for people to start recording the game and then having to take the time to upload that and file a complete report about it, although I play on XBox and I know it is a lot more simple to record on the computer. I just want to get to a game where people are actually playing the game.

If there is a real life need to go away then just shutting the game down completely wouldn't be an issue as you are probably going to anway. And if they want to eliminate "tactical disconnects" then they should remove the option. Becomes a LOT less appealing when you have to restart the game completely over. But you leave a game that the people are farming or holding hostage and then you are punished for not wanting to be a part of that.

I do try the Killer side now and then, but it just does not have the excitement for me that the survivor side has. Trust me, I wish it was as exciting to play as the killers are fun.

A disconnect is a disconnect. It doesn't matter why.

If you don't understand why there is a penalty for this, it can't possibly be anything but a willful misunderstanding. There's no functional position you can take against a penalty for disconnecting and thus sabotaging a match for everyone who remains in it.

The devs don't consider "leaving for help" to be a legitimate reason to disconnect. That is why they ban for it. If you know that and you choose to disconnect anyway, then that's on you.

Slugging is a legitimate in-game mechanic. Suiciding on the hook and Unbreakable are legitimate in-game mechanics. Quitting the match to give someone else the hatch is cheating and shouldn't even be possible. Until that gets fixed, sure, you can disconnect to give a survivor the hatch, but know that you will get banned for it.

More like one hour for the first tactical dc. Its time survivors finally get punished for all the bs and exploits they do. Its bad enough he admits to communicating on comms like a cheat then he dcs to give hatch enough is enough.

Oh boo hoo you disconnected out of spite to try to stop the killer from getting a 4K and you got punished for it.

If you got disconnected unintentionally because of a connection issue, taking game hostage or a bug that is understandable but you outright did it out of spite just so the killer can't get a 4K and your friend can escape you don't deserve leniency for that.

Whether you like it or not as slugging is an intentional mechanic the Legion in question wanted to get the 4K so rightly slug due to ensure that he has the highest possible chance that is perfectly fair. You considered that toxic and didn't want to wait for yourself to bleed out do something else go downstairs make some tea or a sandwich

The penalty is working as intended. Doesn't matter if the killer was toxic or not, if people disconnect, they have a penalty, otherwise, like in the past, people would just do this to give the hatch to a teammate even if the killer was playing fair and wasn't toxic at all.
