The Executioner's Cages of Atonement, And What He COULD Do To Everyone's Perks

Do you think it would be okay to let WGLF work with these? I don't think anyone would have a problem with that

And half of their own. They can't use BBQ, Blood Warden, etc.
It's not an anti survivor ability. It's a "play without the hook" ability. For both sides.

How is that making their perks useless? They're just not going to choose them... They know they're playing him. They're never going to counter themselves by choosing BBQ.

There are a few underrated perks that are pretty good but they arent worth swapping out the meta. Hopefully ph forces people to mix things up.

By eliminating being able to use them the entire match. They're going in knowing they're handicapped by either not using f their power, or not using their perks. They have to decide in every down wether to use power or use a perk they brought on a 50/50 use.
Pretty simple actually.

I never said this applies exclusively to survivors, but like before I understand and discuss this interpretation. Hope this helps.

Well they're not going to bring in perks that they might not use. Killers aren't going to run BBQ on this killer. They're not going to run the perks that his power counters. It would be stupid to do so. So they're going to end up finding a build with 4 perks that work for him. Meanwhile survivors are going to sit there with 1-2 perks countered because they're playing against a certain killer. Think this is as unhealthy for the game as adding in all these killers with built in 1 shot mechanics. Just doesn't make a ton of sense.

It shouldn't as the requirement is to "unhook" them.
But i'm not in the PTB, so i can't confirm it, this is based on the developers' statements.
At the end of my post, i humbly ask for information in case any of you know it better than me. 😊

Should they leave it the way it is, or should they make it so that the cages of attornment count as normal hooks?

I just love how unique his map pressure tool is..hes constantly prowling about..much more interaction to be had

Yeah I would say having something like DH which can extended chases on all 4 survivors, AND it recharges is pretty broke.
They have started to work on it at least. Look at the newest obsession perk. If it was designed like the other bullshit ones cough OoO cough the obsession would benefit with almost no downside at all and even if you weren't the obsession you still got a free obsession perk.
Now if you're not the obsession you don't get anything. That's not going to be abusable x4. There are ways to design powerful perks that aren't going to ruin the balance of the game if it gets x4.

I might have found a few that you missed.
For survivor, Up The Ante is pretty much useless if you get caged for your first phase as it can no longer assist in escape attempts. For killer, Monstrous Shrine is pretty useless as well. Since Pyramid Head always has a chance to use a cage, the likelihood of someone playing him might not use the basement as often or at all in a match. I'm not sure if these two perks would count as completely 'useless', but their potential to be used in a game with Pyramid Head gets drastically reduced. Hope this helps!

Sick, bro!
Nice finds!
Yes, in this specific scenario that i made in the topic, these 2 would be useless.
Monstrous Shrine works on the Basement Hooks, and this Executioner ain't hookin'!
Up The Ante raises not luck, but Luck, and Luck only affects self-unhook & Bear Trap escapes, and Executioner doesn't have any Bear Traps.
I'll be adding them, many thanks! 😊

I haven't played the PTB and thus only know what I saw on the stream and what people are talking about here, but -- is it feasible for Executioner to NEVER pick up or hook a survivor? Could you reasonably count on this killer winning by always slugging and using cages?
0 -
It's not, no, unless the survivors are rank 20 noobs up against a rank 1 killer with 6k hours.
0 -
Nope, this is mainly to just find out what doesn't work if you decide to try the challenge of not using hooks.

Cleanse.
You get an insta heal and you can still dodge her corrupt purge and even take it from her by stunning her.
His cage renders perks useless.
0 -
I'm not sure what you mean?

If you are sick, you don't need a medkit or someone to heal you. You can cleanse and insta heal.
Even with her corrupt purge there is still some counter to her. You can camp a pallet and stun her to take away her ability.
0 -
Sure, but the point is that medikits and healing perks are useless against her. Much more so than hook-related perks can be useless against the Exe. (I was referring to her Vile Purge, not Corrupt Purge)

nope. Saw a dev mention somewhere that this is working as intended. As cages aren’t hooks any perks that have to do with hooks for both sides are useless against/with him
1 -
I'm not Eleghost, but i think they meant that, since it's PTB, even if it's intended, they might change their minds based on the feedback & what they're seeing in the matches.

You are comparing Oranges to Apples.
Medkits and healing perks can still do something if Plague decides to use her Corrupt Purge.
Any Hook-related perks (BT, DS, We'll Make it etc) do not work on the new killer's cage mechanic. Which is far worse when you look at the array of perks that are based purely on hooks. Much worse if the killer decides to take advantage of two things that every killer has access to: Camping and Tunneling.

Finally, a killer that can put second chance perks to shame... : D

Good point. I totally forgot about the fact there can only be one obsession or 3 non-obsessions lol.
