Blood warden is mad underrated.
Ok, people do have the arguments about blood warden being situational, and I get it can be useless if they don't make it to the end game, but if your game is going back you always have blood warden to snowball in the end. Today while playing demogorgon, I downed an ash next to the exit gate (He nearly had it open) so I opened the gat myself, hooked him (he was on death hook). A Laurie was t bagging at the gates so I was going to hit her and a Jake was body blocking so I hit him. After I hooked Laurie in the basement he was t bagging at the gates but blood warden was still active and I downed and hooked him. When blood warden was down the last Meg escaped. What I'm trying to say is that blood warden (while situational) is probably the best snowball perk in the game along with devour hope. I like to bring blood warden on almost all of my killers as insurance. The best part is that survivors don't even notice the gates are blocked most of the time and are either healing or t bagging so you can deliver karma to them. Let me know your thoughts on blood warden. EDIT: Also blood warden games, when you pull them off are the most satisfying games.

Its not that blood warden is a bad perk its that its easily countered by 99ing the gate, which is a broken mechanic imo. It should regress slowly back to 50.

NOED should be changed to regress gates while they’re not being worked on (+ a temporary 4% speed boost, like 80 seconds) and remove the Hex part of it.

You can open the gate yourself, which sounds stupid but you'd be surprised. But only open the gate yourself if you downed someone.

I get that, but as soon as you do they know what youre doing and are out. Ive seen it work, ive done it myself, but its not consistent. Its funny when it works ngl.

in the old days I played a Blood warden Freddy, it is magical when it works, made videos of it.

The most satisfying thing in the game when someone t bags at an exit gate and they don't even know blood warden activated.
2 -
Bloodwarden needs stupids survs to work well otherwise they just play around.

To an extent, if they don't know it is active but you can come up with unexpected strategies. Also if there is a swf and they make a save they might all run to the same exit gate so you can down most if not all of them. If they 99% the gate you can just open it yourself, which actually works.

This, if the killer pops the gate when someone is down everyone will leave. The one thing I will say is LOTS and LOTS of survivors love running around the map even during endgame popping totems for points, looting chests or just generally trying to be annoying and troll the killer so if they aren’t near a gate you bought yourself two minutes to find and down them.

One issue is that if survivors stand against the Blood Warden barrier, then get downed...they crawl out of the exit regardless.
Now I know some say "Just leave them and let EGC kill them"...but Blood Warden is limited and the block time may run out.
If they fall against the Blood Warden barrier, the collision should be like hitting a wall.
Maybe this has been sorted, haven't used the perk in ages.

Haven’t had that happen so either it was fixed or my survivors weren’t right up against it I may have to try KYF

I didn't know this, it is obviously a bug, I think the devs will fix it eventually.

I made a video in may 2019 showing a Laurie holding W while against the closed exit during blood warden, I down her and pick her up, she didnt get away. But not sure if this bug was found after May 2019?

I totally agree. As a killer perk it is totally underrated. Whenever I'm playing killer it is so satifying to surprise them like that especially if you get it activated with less the 75% of the timer left on the end game collapse. Whenever I'm playing survivor, I like to try to save the survivor so we can both escape if I can and most of the time these days you don't expect bloodwarden so when I see that the person has it when it gets activated I'm like oh ######### lol.
For survivor perks, I find a totally underrated one as well is botany knowledge. I never really used it before expect to get adept claudette and didn't really use it again until one of the past tome/rift challenges required it. Just like with bloodwarden, not for everyone is everyone has their own builds they feel comfortable with but I love using it now. I use to have we'll make it which I love but it drove me nuts that it only worked when you unhooked someone. Mind botany knowledge isn't nearly as fast for healing as we'll make it is, I do like that it does speed it up a bit at all times and it works for healing both my teammates and myself.

I used BW a ton but then I kept getting 99ed by experienced players
It's a perk that can be super good but it is very situational and the craftier teams can downright eliminate it with 99ing.
Sure I can open the gate on my own (and if they have 99ed it, I will) but then I need to down and hook someone to get BW to go and if I'm busy opening the gate, I'm clearly not chasing someone that I can use to activate it. So I'm kind of damned if I do and damned if I don't.
Although getting to watch some clown teabag at the gate only to realize "oh #########" when they turn to run out is sooooooooooooo ######### satisfying that it's kind of worth the 80% of the time when BW doesn't even come into play...

Bloodwarden is like the ultimate ######### slap to the face, provided you get it to activate. I think one of it's strengths is not many killers use it so they don't expect it. I had a game as trapper. I had a rift challenge where I had to kill X amount of survivors during the EGC so I swapped out something for BW. It was on Oni's map and it was bad. I was playing terrible. I didn't have any kills by the time all 5 gens were done. Didn't bring NOED cause I don't like using it. Naturally the survivors were dicking around near the end. Searching chests, 99%ing gates. I chased 2 of them out. I managed to catch a Steve. He was drawing my attention and running at jungle gyms near the open exit for more boldness points. He looped a pallet and stepped in a trap I planted at the beginning of the game. I picked him up and carried him away from the only exit gate that was open. It was like 30% left on the timer. I walked away and let Nancy save him. Then I chased them all the way to the gate. I didn't swing at anyone even though Nancy was body blocking Steve. They get to the gate, teabag and find out I'm using BW. The hatch isn't open yet, no one has a key and BW is clearly going to last till the entity takes them. Those 15 seconds of "were screwed" were amazing. They even commented me in the end game chat about how epic that was. You know it's good when the survivor's give positive comments for killing them.
Stupid question but I've never done it before. As a killer how do you open the gates?

This was very entertaining to read. If end game collapse hasn't triggered yet, you can go up to the gate and it will give you the option to open the gate up.

Yeah bloodwarden is fun against complete morons. It's kinda boring if the survivors got more than a braincell and just hide during BW being active tho.
