Was anyone else hoping PH's mori would be...

This:

Not for the nekkidness (they could totally bypass that by having the original rip animation also remove the skin), but for the sheer visceral horror of it. My friend said it best after watching this movie "I was very happy when they killed the worst actor in the movie in the worst way possible", not gonna lie, I wholeheartedly agreed with him, but aside from this admittedly gruesome as hell death scene/mori, is anyone else also hoping that Pyramid Head's movie look becomes a cosmetic? because it's a really good look for him!

Not really, I was hoping for a cool killer.

I mean dbd is a horror game, but I don't think the devs want to go that far with the mori.

I would also accept a purely barbed-wire death along the lines of the final scene of the movie.

Either way, what we actually got for a mori is pretty lackluster.

Problem is the movie isn’t canon to pyramid head only the video games so unless it happened there it wouldn’t happen here (that and of course cuz China wouldn’t like this lol)

Funny enough, the entire movies music soundtrack directly comes from the video game. The makers of the game made that stiplulation and even had a big impact in the movies production. Sure it has lackluster performances from the actors, but you can't deny that the nailed the horror and atmosphere of the games flawlessly. Because the game makers had a direct influence in the movies production... I'd have to say this brutal scene was also their call, which would make it cannon. China aside, I'm pretty sure everyone else would love to see a mori like this in the game.

I don’t have the full quote but the devs said this “Anything from the games that happened before the entity took them is canon. Anything from the movie is not canon” that’s all due to the lore of these dbd versions not the series as a whole

It's because DbD is an M rated horror game that I feel the devs should go there. Lets face it, most of the Mori animations are sadly PG-13ed, Which doesn't fit the Horror genre at all. In Canada they may value less gruesome details in their horror movies (Cube obviously counters this side of the argument) but even if that's the case, America, Mexico, South America, The UK, and many other places won't mind a bit more violence. Really the only contender that refuses/censors the violence in this game is China... So why not just go for it for all countries that appreciate it, and just censor the Chinese version?

    You're right, somewhat though.

Many of the moris are 80's Horror related, like Trapper's, Wraith's, Michael's, Freddy's. But, I agree with the horror should be taken up a notch.

If Legion can have a brutal Mori, why can't Pyramid Head.

Hell, out of all the mori's in the game, only 2 actually feature any Gore: Clown and Hag (I define gore as showing any dismemberment or visible organs). Take LF for example... his Mori shows him ramming his chainsaw into the survivor and then dragging it upwards to split them down the middle. In a horror movie, none of this would be censored, In this horror themed game however... it's a totally PG-13 move. This IS an M-17 title right devs? All I'm asking for is that they have the decency treat it that way and earn the rating.

Yeah, I'm right with you there. The PG-13 stuff is getting boring.

@TWiXT Also ignore the fact I was too lazy to crop it all and maybe there was an easier way to do this but I’m new to the forums side of things

Nah I'm fine, I prefer dev time was spent on far more meaningful stuff then a visual spectacle that people will get over with in a week or two.

I think thats a bit too far but i dont know, dbd is a M Rated Game, but they give us pg-13 Moris, but agreed,Pyramid Head Didnt Got Too much Justice For His Mori, its kinda Boring,i was expecting a mori that was more true to his character.

I was honestly surprised by how violent death slingers was. Didn't see that coming, but yeah, they definitely need to turn it up a notch man.

For a game who's makers don't consider the movies as Canon, they sure do emulate them quite a bit. Freddy's mori comes directly from the Remake movie, Shape/Myers Mori and design also come directly from the movies, Hell even Pigs head trap kills, and throat slash mori also come from the movies. So, while the devs don't consider the movies canon... they certainly draw inspiration from them and copy them in this game. So, while this brutal mori suggestion may not be canon, it's also not something the devs would ignore either.

Ok sorry it’s a late response but those are because with those characters the licensing is with the movies this one is only a license with the video game creators
