To anyone saying Five Nights at Freddy's couldn't work in DBD, here's a power concept for you:
Let me know what you guys think - I'd really love for this to be included in the game, but I don't see the devs implementing fan concepts any time soon. Though if any of them see this, feel free to steal it. :P

That would be way too powerful. The music boxes would need a shared timer to begin with. Oblivious makes sense, but Exposed would mean the blackout would require a short timer especially if you're giving a movement speed boost to the killer. And giving them killer instinct is just way too much if it also gives the survivors the exposed debuff.

During the blackout survivors cannot see, are oblivious AND exposed, and the Killer can see in the dark, see where they're at, and run faster while everyone is exposed? No. So much no. That sounds like absolute balls for survivors.
Its an interesting concept, but this exact implementation sounds like bullshit. 😂

There is no timer on the blackout: the blackout ends as soon as the killer downs a survivor. I don't think the timers would need to be global if they were long enough (in discussions with others about this I initially suggested each both have a timer of 2.5 minutes, but they said that would be too long).

Only one survivor can be downed during the blackout. And it can be completely avoided with enough coordination between the survivors.

Rather than exposed, oblvious, killer instinct, and vision loss (which would require a whole deal of visual effects being added to the game), it would probly make more sense to just have the puppet do a jump scare on the survivor who's gone the longest without getting into a chase or winding a music box and knock them down a health state.
Also, I just realized nothing on this power would be tied to M2 or whatever the controller equivalent is.

Sounds like based on FNaF 2, I really like the idea of a FNaF chapter... but please don't use characters like Freddy, the toys or the nightmares. They just don't fit the aesthetic, unlike one specific murderer/killer in the franchise, Springtrap. But, personally, I would like a chapter based on the novel series more than one based on the games.
Springtrap, maybe called 'The Forgotten' in DbD, fits DbD well, aesthetically and backround-wise. He is a murderer/killer trapped in a rotting, dark animatronic suit. That wouldn't really be a problem lore-wise as we already have a 'dead' killer, the Spirit. The novel series also has good options for survivors, personally I'd take John as he is the closest to the main character. The main character, Charlie, wouldn't be able to be in DbD for reasons I don't want to spoil. Also a possible map would be, similar to haddonfield, a neighborhood with Charlies childhood home which has been abandoned and left to rot for long or even the mall that is hiding the old pizzaria. The novel series would also give the devs more options for Springtrap as he has no 'set' design like his game counterpart has.

If you're going to use FNaF, I don't see how you could not choose the pizzeria as the map.
3 -
Yeah, but how is that fun? Just getting to be the unlucky one selected by a Killer you cannot escape? Every blackout is an automatic hook with zero skill required. No thank you. Survivors want MORE SKILLFUL killers, not less.

We're already getting 4 Legion cosmetics that look eerily similar to Toy Bonnie thanks to the Silent Hill chapter, I was thinking you'd have FNAF 1 Freddy as the base killer and then have the three others from the first game as legendary outfits. Not sure about a survivor if it were to be based on the game, I think it would have to be a paragraph style chapter like Ghost Face was - but if it had to have one, it would be the first character based on a novel.

By simply not basing it on the games. The only locations really explored in the games are... pizzarias, it just wouldn't fit aesthetically with DbD. The only really 'fitting' would be the horror attraction, but even then it would be way too small and there's no way you could make it bigger with interesting aspects, it would just be the theatre or hawkins with a pizzaria skin over it.
The novel series just has many better options that would fit DbD more than a flashy pizzaria.

You could have a simple jumpscare into down as you suggest, but I think it would be far more scary and entertaining for there to be an interaction between the killer and the survivor when the lights go out.
Part of the idea when I came up with it was to provide new killers a powerful enough starting point for people to pick up and play easily without making them uncounterable, like how the community currently views Freddy. He has map pressure, he has a basic chase ability, but he's easy to play.

Could have the map play like a less terrible version of Ormond, with the Pizzeria as the central building with cramped corridors and tight loops, then have an exterior area opening out onto a car park with car loops and such.

I don't know if we're allowed to talk about leaks here... anyways, Freddy and the gang, the toys, the nightmares and so on just wouldn't fit aesthetically in. They're colorful, flashy and cute, the nightmares try too hard. Springtrap is really the only one that makes sense, he is/was human, is a murderer/killer and so on. The original gang has childrens souls in them, they aren't murderer or killers.

The blackout should only begin if the survivors have really ######### up - the timer on the music boxes should be quite forgiving without addons, so that when they do hit zero, it's purely because of mistakes survivors made or plays the killer made to deliberately herd them away from boxes. Hence, when it does occur, there should be significant penalties applied. Thinking about it, this punishment isn't nearly as bad as that of neglecting Pig's RBTs, and is likely even less punishing than letting Myers reach T3 (without Tombstone addons).

But they do literally kill the player in the first game. Besides, the Entity has complete omnipotence in it's own realm - it can force the killers to do whatever it desires, which can be particularly seen with Wraith. Another comparison I'd draw for the aesthetic of the FNAF characters would be the relatively recent Mr. Puddles outfit for Clown.
Edit: Aesthetically I'm referring particularly to the characters in FNAF 1, I believe they'd fit best.

I believe forcing children to murder is a bit too much, even for DbD. It also wouldn't fit lore-wise to just take the robots without the souls as the entity has nothing to feed off of the robots, robots have no emotions.
1 -
You'd keep the souls, even if it were just implied in the character's backstory. And I don't see what the issue is with having the animatronics kill in DBD when they're already demonstrated to be doing the same thing in the game they're pulled from.

Actually, I think there are several dead killers in the DBD. Nurse, Oni, Spirit, Freddy... but I completely agree about Springtrap. He would be a perfect fit... but people here don't think that about FNaF, they just see the annoying minority of hyper-vocal kids and don't look deeper for potential.
One catch would be that he went to hell... Unless the Entity can take from hell, it is hard for Springtrap to have a canon reason to be here... that, and Glitchtrap... exists...

I love the idea, but I can't imagine the killer being fun to play without some sort of "M2" ability.

understandable goodbye

Fnaf 3 isn’t a pizzeria location though it’s a horror attraction and it’s also rather big
0 -
The entity takes killers and survivors at random times not at the very ending or very beginning usually so maybe he can grab springtrap from when he was locked behind the wall or when he escaped
0 -
Your forgetting there is an animatronic with a murdering adult in it which would fit dbd. Springtrap

No.

As a person who plays alot of survivor I would love this not only because its iconic but it would actually be horrifying
0 -
It's was a pizzaria that was made into a horror attraction.

I'm baffled by the amount of dumb stuff that gets actual conversations going on this forum. But ya post actual things that make sense and add up, plus are unique, *crickets*

Are you the same guy that keeps bringing this up,or is there multiple people? I noticed your account was pretty new. I personally just think the characters don't quite fit. A lot of them are sort of silly. I'm not knocking the game or anything, that's just my opinion. A big teddy bear,or fox,or a doll. I dunno.

I don't think it's the Killer Power that makes people say FNAF wouldn't work...
3 -
I don't like powers that activate based on the survivors.
The blackout sounds interesting, but the survivors can prevent it 100%. And besides that, the killer has nothing going for him.
0 -
Having thought about it a little more recently Springtrap would be a way more impressive killer visually. Then the rest could be introduced as legendary outfits.
0 -
I'm just one guy who came up with a killer idea and thought it sounded good enough to share. Maybe there's just more people who are into the idea of FNAF being in the game than you expected?
Edit: We already have a giant elephant and a man dressed up as an elf.

Maybe there should be some way for them to actively force themselves into the survivor's POV, or take advantage of the fact they can't be seen without risking the music box going off.
0 -
Just give him an active power.
Keep the blackout as is.

I mean,I saw two posts in like 3 days. You don't see how that's different, lol? One is an outfit for a killer clown with a pocket knife. They'd almost have to pick one of the original characters. Not everyone has played the games. They might just recognize them from toys or something. Videos.
The most obvious choice is going to be Freddy or Golden Freddy. Now how do you make him attack? Give him a weapon when he's never used one? Make him bite (I doubt it when hits barely connect sometimes). I just don't see them picking one of the not as visible or recognized "mascot" characters. The only one I could see working is Foxy.
If they make it a full chapter, then you have the issue of a survivor. They aren't going to use a child. We've never seen anyone's face. They'd almost have to make something up off the top of their head, which which hasn't ever happened for a licensed chapter. Plus they have to think of a map. There's an obvious choice there as well.
Maybe silly wasn't the right word. Maybe you and many other people think the game is scary. I personally dont. It lacks the gritty horror element. Sure, maybe if you know the lore and read the books and all this. Someone that doesn't know any better is going to see one of those characters and just really be scratching their head. And like I said,I'm not knocking you,or the game. I'm a huge fan of Scott as a developer. He did something I wouldn't have thought was possible when I was a young programmer.
I've made suggestions as well. There's a list of killers the community has begged for. For years now. There's a guy that wants Frank from Dead Rising in the game. He goes hard, and doesn't seem to care what people think. I admire someone liking something, and wanting to see more of it,or see it in a different way. You never know, maybe someday. Just saying in my opinion,it just doesn't quite fit somehow. I'd also have never thought they'd be able to get Silent Hill as a license,soooo....

That still doesn’t solve the continuity errors... oh, what the hell, they got Steve and Nancy, they don’t need to explain that stuff.

I'd rather have Springtrap over Freddy Fazbear anyway
