I really don't get why people DC sometimes
First match of the day on Hawkins. I immediately went towards that room with the generator on top of the stairs and all the glass windows and stuff. Found someone before I even got there. Hit them. They threw a pretty unsafe pallet down and just kept sliding back and forth. Grabbed them and hooked them. D/C.
Found another two on a gen that was near done and was able to get a hit on both. The person that wasn't injured,D/C. I literally never even saw them. Downed the one girl again being silly on a pallet. Hooked...suicide.The last girl was injured and ran right past the hatch. The one with the map. I closed it. Downed her. Was honestly going to pick her up and let her go. D/C as I was reaching down.
They had potential to win,even with the early hook. I'm really not that great. I didn't have an opportunity to camp or tunnel anyone. So I don't know if it was just a chain reaction. I did sorta get the impression that they thought I was worse than I actually am,but that could just be in my head obviously.
I definitely didn't get the feeling that they joined to just give up and lose. They did seem to be trying. Of course maybe they realized they forgot items. Maybe don't like Freddy, but you'd think they'd quit or give up instantly. I dunno. Was just a strange one. Still got two gold medals for my challenge,lol.

I can't say that's not true. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. Thought maybe it was SWF because they had sorta similar,sorta odd builds,and are around the same rank.

Anecdotally, I feel like there are a lot fewer disconnects these days after they added harsher penalties, at least on PC.

Yeah I dont see it very often here either. This is only the second time I've ever seen 3 people in one match disconnect,ever.

I only D/C'd one time when I was completely furious. I just got back to the game after like a year long break. Was rank 16 and it kept putting me against reds and I just couldn't win. Then I got a team with 3 flashlights,playing in the most frustrating manner I've ever seen. I didnt get one hook. I'm not even sure I got a hit.
Then instead of leaving,they came back to where I was and just kept trying to blind me from every angle,teabag,the whole 9 yards. I already gave up,and they already won,so it was like the last straw.
I just try to play no matter what. Even if I'm hooked first or someone disconnects. Usually if you are at least mid ranks, people will try to save you if they can. On PS4 it's mostly the low rank survivors that are scared to do anything,and the low rank killers that camp and are unpredictable. Usually I just figure they don't know any better.

I hadn't played survivor in forever and ended up getting dropped to like 18 or 19. Was happy until I remembered lol. I'm almost to red now. The survivors get better as you go up. Unfortunately it still puts you with low rank killers. Sometimes they are better than one would expect,sometimes I almost feel bad for them. Sometimes they camp or tunnel you the whole match ha.
Craziest thing I saw on PS4 was a rank 2 camping Huntress. Completely blew my mind. Maybe they were doing a challenge or something. Or maybe that's how they got to rank 2,lol. I started on PC pretty close to launch. The game was completely different then. I was going to go back when I got my rig fixed,but no way I'm doing that now unless they add cross progression or some kind of transfer system. I bought every chapter the past 3 months and put tons of time on the PS4 version.

Giving someone Hatch is definitely one of those things that should not be okay reasons to DC. I don't think the devs like Tactical Disconnects and want to discourage that kind of play.

I agree. I actually missed than one. I don't have any friends that play lol. I've definitely taken hits or sacrificed myself so I know at least one of us gets out,but yeah,I frown upon that as well. If there's two of you anyways,I'm sure you can try to pull something off.
