There should be ONE free dc
Just one a day, any more and you have to wait like normal.
Now before you whine and complain "YoU'rE jUsT mAd" no, I just had a conversation with one of my buddies who was forced to dc for the first time in months.
Now, my reasoning for the one free dc. There will always be that one match that is just against you or you just don't want to be in. Getting bodyblocked in a corner by the killer (and the killer not moving), swf 3 man trying to get the killer to kill you first (Sandbagging, or pointing at you're hiding places, etc).
We get punished for leaving a match in which we can't do anything (For example my friend who was bodyblocked with the other remaining survivors in the basement.)

If you record it and report them https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us they will get banned. You just seem to be unlucky or play around the time and region where so many toxic dicks play I never face these kind of people lol.

Ngl if I'm playing really badly it's better to DC or stop and just walk away before getting up tight and even more boosted.

We all know how infuriating this game and community can be, neither side is exempt.

You do know the dc penalty is kinda light right? unless you're dcing back to back it should not be a problem for you.

That is besides the point. You can't report them without dcing given they have the game held hostage. That's why I proposed the one free dc, you still lose all the stuff gained like normal, but you don't have to wait 5 minutes because some douche decided to be.. well a douche.

I get your logic but giving free leaves will just increase the disconnect alot consider how many people play this game. 1 person affect 4 more people and those 4 more people will also dc on their matches at some point it is a chain reaction. It is like mitosis 1 cell turns into 2, 2 into 4, 4 into 8,16,32 and goes nuts.
Also 5 minutes is basically nothing. If truly you are talking once a week or a month why are you complaining about 5 mins a month time.
I assume you gonna answer something like "but why do I have to wait 5 mins for some douche" it is because there are more players other than you and that dc waive will ruin way more games way more often than saving you 5 mins a month. It is the lesser evil :)

I'm inclined to agree. With the penalties, as the cooldown happens, there should be one unpunished DC that should regenerate with the cooldown, simply due to the bugs in the game alone.

basically there is.
the first two DCs will only result in a 5 minute matchmaking ban, however any additional DCs will increase the time you have to wait.
-> you wont get any time increase for the first time DCing.

No it's the fact you get punished for playing with ######### teammates, or being locked into a ######### situation.
Killer stops you from being able to finish the game and refuses to kill you: You get punished because you are forced to dc.
Don't tell me you ACTUALLY enjoy being punished after you are forced to dc.

I've never DCd, so I wouldn't know. However, it does sound like a ######### situation.

10 seconds would be too long if you didn't deserve it. Which is why they need to implement one free DC while their game is in the state it's in. People crashing during game, people unable to continue the game due to a bug (stuck in healing animation etc where EGC doesn't even end the game)...you don't add DC penalties to a game in the shape this one is in.
The second rate devs at BHVR need to get into the game, fix the broken spaghetti code, among MANY other technical issues, and THEN we can get rid of any free DC's. Until then, it's just a bunch of garbage.

It's just one dc, that's not gonna stop all the toxic people from dcing every other game because they didn't get the map they wanted or they hate who the killer is playing. This is for the people who are put in with the toxic players and DON'T want to be sandbagged, farmed, locked in a corner, etc.

It is not just one DC. It is one DC per day per player. That is A LOT of free DCs.

An idea that allows people to be paired with people who are prone to disconnecting and now each get one freebie DAILY sounds fairly outlandish to me.

I would happily deal with an occasional DC penalty due to a bug than deal with Survivors being able to freely DC. Match quality has gone up quite a bit since an actual punishment for leaving was added. No longer do I have to deal with entire teams DCing because they don't like the Killer I'm playing or the build I'm using. If that means I have to deal with a 5 minute ban once in awhile, so be it.

In my opinion, I believe the DC system should start off easy then escalate rapidly.

Let's take it several steps further and just say no freebies.

I like this idea; though I don't think there should be any sort of permanent ban for disconnecting from a game. So I'd go from 24 to 48, to a week, to a month. The longer the timeout is, the longer it takes to reset (like, a month time out right take 2 months to reset back to 0).
There's obviously no logical or rational conversation to be had with you. You're completely one-sided and biased.
