Crossplay (Discussion & Timeline)

I am very excited for Crossplay coming into the game within the coming months, but I had a few concerns and queries that I’d like to hear your opinions on. I play on Xbox in Australia and the players base in red ranks in small, we see the same people time and time again and cannot wait to see some new people in the mix. These are my questions that hopefully the community can answer for me or a dev:

  • What is the timeline for the release of crossplay? When for PC & Windows store and then for consoles?
  • Can the devs include mouse and keyboard support on consoles?
  • How do you think they’ll balance the difference in skill between console and PC players, with PC clearly having an advantage? (Excluding the MMR system)
  • What’s the most exciting part about crossplay for you personally?

Side Note: I cant wait for cross progression either cause I have a lot of event cosmetics on PC but I’ve put a lot of hours into Xbox now and miss having some of those cosmetics in my inventory! 😄

    See I dont think PC does have that big of an advsntage, killers like huntress and nurse will do better with a mouse but outside of that I dont see that big of an advantage. Ive played both. At least with the core game mechanics, frame rate drops on console are a whole other story

    Timeline: By the end of the year. So I'd look for it around September or December.

    I imagine things will be a mess at first as far as balance between consoles/pc goes. But they'll probably try optimizing consoles a bit more in that time to help close the gaps.

    Most exciting thing for me is getting to play with my friends on XBOX One. I don't own an XBOX, and I have no interest in buying one. IF they allow cross-progression, and you don't have to rebuy the characters, I might even get the game on PS4 so I can have better graphics and Freddy. Though we'll see if you have to buy characters on each platform to be able to use them or not. (That'd probably discourage me from getting the PS4 Version ATM)

    They stated that they want to do cross-progression, but it will not be happening by the time cross-play launches later this year. There are still a lot of talks and agreements to be made between them and Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo.
