Are Devs upset that like 75% of perks don’t get used?
Ive wondered before, but @ScottJund recent YouTube video made me wanna post it finally. Basically he talked about how utterly useless some perks are (both sides) and the meta almost never changes. Unless people are doing a meme build survivors use basically the same 4-8 perks every game and every killer has maybe 2-3 must have perks if you wanna perform up to potential.
So for how much time they put into perks, I know I myself would be mad that so many perks never get used. I know they have a finite number of resources but isn’t it time to buff some perks to at least be playable.

I don't even think they are aware.
In the 4th anniversary stream, Mathieu Cote said this game had an "ever changing meta". lol.
Can't remember where exactly he said this, but I remember it VIVIDLY.

Now that you say that I recall whoever I was watching Stream it laughing at that quote.

Ya that quote was complete bullshit lol. If they actually put some effort into perks instead of releasing intentionally garbage perks maybe more would be used. As is I'm pretty sure they release terrible perks intentionally to push people to buy stuff like clown who would never make a sale if he didn't have pop.

Sounds like someone just came from Pug's stream lol

Nope, like I said Scott is addressing some of his viewers’ suggestion although it doesn’t surprise me Pug has a similar idea he’s another smart cookie

I would say 4-12 perks instead... but yes, very repetitive. (Unless you are still levelling up the character, then you use whatever you have, which probably hide the true stats of perks usage)

Considering most recent dlc perks are crap and unusable, I don't think it's a concern for them.
After Crossplay, Server Improvements, Graphical Update and Matchmaking change, maybe a total rework of Perks should be the next project.
Take the perks with less than 1% use and try make them useful.

Does he really believe this? @Peanits and @not_Queen did he say this just off the cuff or is the true belief of the Devs?

They'll keep churning out crap and you'll keep buying it, that's why.

He said it's because he's Mathieu, he never thinks what he's saying. Anyone remembers him discouraging the players from playing his own game ? Anyone remembers him saying that it's good that his game is frustrating ? Anyone remembers him saying that killer audio issues are less important than survivor issues because they can't fix all of them anyway ? I love this dev team, they're all great people that I spent wonderful 4 years with (with many more to come), but Mathieu Cote is ...

I'd say 20% are #########. 10% are considered meta. 20% are good perks that aren't meta. 50% are good in builds.

He's a perfect example of BHVR's actions and logic, it explains everything.

They shouldn't be suprised that there's a consistent meta when there are multiple perks that put the player at a signifigant disadvantage with little to no reward or benefit...
cough no mither cough repressed alience...

he said this in the crossplay bit of live stream

If we had a @5thPerkSlot® we could make more creative combinations, have more fun and ofc take unused perks

They're absolutely aware. Mcote isn't on the live balance team.
Regarding the OP, I think it depends on the perk. Some perks are borderline useless and could use some tweaking, but for many others, their strength lies in the element of surprise that comes with their being niche and underused, so trying to push them into the meta would hurt them more than it would help. What I do know is that the devs have a list of perks that they would like to address, and probably a bunch of ideas for how to do so, it's just a matter of priorities and finding the time to make it happen.

Or we could just increase our build to the 5 "best perks." No more having to decide between Sprint Burst or Adrenaline, just take both for example.
