#Fix: Please remove fast jumps over a pallet when standing in front of it

Dear devs, every time when I'm playing killer and a survivor is standing at a dropped pallet I have this situation. When I move towards the survivor he just jumps (fast) over the pallet. But this movement is not possible when you not running towards the pallet. The pallet must be very oily to get this speed to jump over it. It's like the situation at windows. You can't fast vault when you were standing at the window. You need some speed for it. So now the survivor can just jump over and over the pallet from the one side to the other side when the killer is moving at the "loop". So the killer has to be lucky with his movement to deal with this situation. This costs very much time btw. Because you don't want to break every pallet when you don't need to. The thing is just the wrong move for the survivor in this case.
When I'm playing survivor I do this unfortunately too as a survivor. Just because it's possible. I can make mistakes and waste some time from the killer... and maybe get out without getting hit or downed. So it would be great when you can fix this situation.

You wan't to get rid of the possible mind games on certain pallets, because it's not realistic?

    Yeah, great idea.

To be fair, most pallets are safe and with the upcoming bloodlust changes....

@ManfredTheCrab This is a great idea! Pallet vaults and window vaults need to have more consistency to encourage better chases.

Mindgameable, but again, survivors should adapt not killers, right?

Yes. Unfortunately, the opposite has been true almost every patch for the past two years.

Honestly though, if you can't fast vault a window when next to it why should pallets be any different?

    This is nonsense, lol.

This won't fix #########, nor change anything regarding looping.

I beg to differ, I imagine that it will give survivors less of a window to vault safely meaning that a baited vault can result in a hit where the late vault will result in a grab. It will encourage survivors to drop a pallet and keep moving.

You just can move around to generate speed and vault the pallet then inf times, that's what high skilled survivors do with windows all the time, they know the speed and how to get it.
The devs need to replace the safe pallets and window vaults, that's it.

(If they would be experienced in what they are doing, they shouldn't have messed up the pallets and windows in the first place like they are now...)

It's not that simple to balance this game.
The game is full of design flaws and poorly choices and fast vaulting is one of them, due to it being based on speed which players can generate with 360ing, lol.

I sometimes wonder why they didn't go for this suggestion instead of reworking all the loops (which as far as I know, is still in progress?). Seems like a logical extension of the fixes made to windows way back in the day.

I'd say it's too late at this point. They've gone with this fast switch for so long, the game is being adjusted around that mechanic.

IRL you can jump fast even when standing still. Just imagine yourself in front of a pallet and you'll get it.
It's fine the way it is

IRL the killer would stop a falling pallet with their hand and then stare at the survivor and shake their head.

IRL survivors could just climb the walls of certain maps and escape.
IRL 4 davids would also beat the **** out of the pig.

But remember this is a "nightmare" like thing. So basically they cannot do that

The bigger issue here is looping.

Devs need to gut it already.

Windows have fast/slow vaults. Pallets need something else as well. A slower slide for not having any momentum before sliding. Just how it should work. You slow vault a window because you hit it at an angle, you slow slide because you didn’t have any running momentum.

Though I can already see the usual bias Survivor players have dogpiled this thread...

Why not just break the pallet and move on?  Continuously letting the Survivor use the pallet is only going to waste your time.  They will have no choice but to move on a find a new spot.

It is easy to counter it with some mind games as well.  Psyche them out and you can hit them.  That usually scares them and they run away which usually just leads them to getting downed.
