You cant compare fighting games with that. Fighting games evolved into this that still doesnt mean they are techs they are still glitches.

I wouldn't accept DS1 graphics on my PS3 any more than I would on my PC. MGS4 had better graphics and controls, with fewer glitches (I didn't encounter any myself, but no software is completely bug-free), and came out 3 years earlier.

Well duplicating wasn't used in fighting anyway but to get your humanity so you can stay in human form and keep pvpving. So it doesn't matter anyway, shouldn't have mentioned it but it does make no difference in a fight.

To actually answer the topic at hand, no i don't remember the devs mentioning bringing back a tech, but that might be just me.
And no, i hope they DON'T bring any of that back since id rather have consistent rules on what can/can't block movement.

DS1 was good in its time. If you don't like it it's on you. 90+% of the soulsborne community sees DS1 as the father and masterpiece of the soulsborne series. Maybe you just don't like it because you couldn't win against the tutorial boss lol

I certainly haven't read anything saying the devs intended the exploit to come back as a "tech" (which, let's be honest, the difference between exploit/glitch/tech is who you ask, there's a reason the speedrun community calls runs "glitchless" and not "techless") and I truly hope they don't as inconsistent rules in games just lead to confusion.
I will note too, there's a reason DS1 PvP was considered the worst of the trilogy. Outside of tournament level play it was down to who lagstabbed the other better. The fact the glitches around the PvP were removed and the code refined in 2 and 3 shows they weren't considered good by the developers. To use the combos in fighting games example, in that case the devs decided they liked it and incorporated it. Hook 'techs' were removed, so therefore the devs have decided they didn't like it. I don't know what's so difficult to follow about that.

Those were glitches not techs, making the killer hit the guy on hook instead of you is a tech, clipping through survivors isn't.

I only classify something as a tech if it can be outplayed by both sides, such as the CJ and window tech that can both be predicted and outplayed.
The hook tech where you just sat inside the hooked survivor was not a tech but an exploit as the only "counter" was camping.
The first hook tech was called the boyo tech, which was uncounterable in some situations, but the effect it had was quite minor so I didn't mind it.
The hook tech was an exploit so it will not be coming back unless its added in as a bug. I wouldn't mind the boyo tech coming back though.

The tapping one was intentional to prevent unfair grabs. I'm VERY curious as to why THAT was removed, it's just going to make saving against camping way too difficult. (If that's the one you mean)

You shouldn't try to save against a camper anyway. The fact that it's even a thing survivors consider is just proof of how little the killers actually matter. If the killer is somewhere, you should want to be somewhere else.
EDIT: Also, no such thing as an unfair grab, barring latency. The killer is there and grabbing is a thing they can do. You decided to take a risky action, that's all.

Borrowed time is designed for saving against campers. This mechanic was designed to make Borrowed time unhooks easier because people used to let go a few seconds ago but STILL get grabbed.
Anyways, it's not something I do myself, I just hold M1, open the gates and don't look back. But it was intentionally made to help against campers for those unhooks and prevent unfair grabs, so I'm curious as to why it was removed.

No, it's written in the fact that the killer can grab you off the hook, thereby getting an insta-down and disabling half the survivors with a single chase.
So while you can technically use it to unhook in the killer's face, it'd be like blocking the Hillbilly's chainsaw with your face. You're not supposed to do either of those things.
