"jUsT dOn'T tUnNeL bRo"
Another 0.24 seconds, literally, and I wouldn't have been hit with DS. I get it wouldn't have changed the game much at all, but just last week I was hit with like a 59s DS after hooking someone over the complete opposite side of the map and then Adrenaline kicked in for him. I hate when survivors say "just don't tunnel bro!" when I probably get hit like 5-6 times a week by DS when I don't tunnel. Like, why should I be punished for being able to down and hook quickly? And for those who say "just time it" - do you not realise how much a killer has to focus on in a game? I'm not gonna be able to count down from 60 in my head every time I hook somebody whilst having to focus on map pressure, gen defence, not going for long chases, etc. I could just set a timer but that means having to stop, reset and start the timer every single time I hook somebody if there's an obsession in my game which will be awkward.

Imagine not taking a few extra seconds to kick a pallet or a gen just to be sure. SMH

Are you regressing generators at all? Spooking survivors? Destroying fallen pallets?
Or are you just going after kills?
1 -
Yeah, this is a common complaint. I've been DS'd while trying to stop a healthy survivor from making a hook save in my face. I've been DS'ed after hooking two other survivors (that was a 59s one, ugh). I've had two recently unhooked survivors run around in front of me at the same time trying to bait me (slugged them both). I've had the last survivor standing try to cockily get me to pick him up (yeah, no, I'll watch bleed out for 60s+ and then hook you).
I don't get hit by DS that often because I don't tunnel and I'm not that efficient, but when I do get hit by it because I'm actually doing well for once it's quite frustrating. I try to keep DS in mind but if I've hooked two other survivors it feels like 60 seconds have more than passed.
Survivors complained about tunneling, so DS got turned into an anti-tunneling perk. It also hurts killers who aren't tunneling, of course, but hey, I guess you should have four stopwatches in front of you when you play. The great thing is when I see survivors complain that they equip DS but never get to use it because killers play around it. "Plz make perk stronger so I can be guaranteed stab killers" o_0

At this point it was approximately 6 minutes into the game and only 1 generator was done when hooking the Meg, with a 2nd done by the time I got back over to David. I got really lucky with the map as Wraith to be honest. You see in the video that right after hooking the Meg I went straight to the gen around the corner and regressed it. As for pallets there probably were one or two I could've destroyed.
1 -
I wish they'd shorten the timer to about 45 seconds instead. 60 is a bit too generous. I'm wary of going much less as DS does at least make killers think twice about legit tunneling.
7 -
The real problem is, if you slug to get free from the DS you risk an unbreakable, even a tap-save. DS is too much of a security to bring to a game.
4 -
Why did you pop the gen that had almost no progress on it! Such a wasted pop.
Anyway, it's probably best to eat it there, while you're ahead. Two gens done, you probably downed him again in short order. Then he doesn't have it the rest of the game, and escapes because of it.
2 -
If anything, DS encourages tunneling because once it's gone, it's gone for good.
4 -
Hear me out here; DS should trigger multiple times but it shouldn't have a set timer; it should disable whenever you hook someone else while the DS-user is Healthy or Injured.
Make it less of a catch-all "save the Survivor from anything going wrong" perk and more of an actual anti-tunnel perk.
This way if you're just really good at downing Survivors you won't lose momentum just because someone can hit a skillcheck, while also doing more for Survivors than just incentivizing me to ACTUALLY tunnel you.
1 -
Don't shorten the time of DS. Just make it deactivate when someone else is hooked, or make the timer go down 50% when someone else is hooked. Realistically, anyone who has an issue with that suggestion isn't using it as a means of not being tunneled. They are using it because they suck at looping and need their superman perk.
2 -
I'm fine with DS if they made survivors a little bit slower to make looping a little bit harder. The whole tunneling thing seems like sour grapes to me when it's legit trivial for any survivor to extend a chase a lot longer than it should go. At this point I have the distinct impression that survivors at least don't mind being chased and in some cases search it out, as the time they can easily waste (and then complain about in postgame if a killer commits for however long the survivor thinks is too long) is often more valuable than anything else they could be doing.
If survivors were afraid of being chased then I'm fine with whatever anti-tunneling measures they want to have. With the game design encouraging the survivors to look for chases I'm not sure what they expect except tunneling.

You still get pressure from slugging. I don't get why it's a problem they get up, it takes longer to revive from dying than it does to rescue from a hook and you don't lose time taking the hook either.
If they have no Unbreakable they will be downed for at LEAST 32 seconds, unless someone was right there to heal them up the instant they went down in which case it would be about 16 seconds. If they have Unbreakable it's 23 seconds. It's really not that big of a deal if they get up after you slug them, in fact you should expect it.
1 -
DS is an overpowered perk and everyone knows it. You get hit by it by performing too well, as well as tunneling. I prefer to camp and tunnel out anyone who uses it. Especially if they sit in a locker to force it.
4 -
"You get hit by it by performing too well"
Playing into a perk that your opponent obviously has instead of changing your tactics to counter it is NOT performing well. It's actually performing poorly. I swear the hoops you have to jump to come to the conclusion that you are playing well by GIVING your enemy what they want are massive.
2 -
Yeah, when I go across the map, hook someone else, then come back to someone working on a gen and get hit by DS I am playing poorly. It's not like it is an entire minute of invincibility (2x) in a game that can be over in 4-5 minutes.
6 -
Lol
0 -
You are playing poorly because you shouldn't just pick them up like a bot. Jesus ######### Christ, slug the guy if he was hooked less than 60 seconds ago. Is it that hard? They are doing the gen in your face to bait you. If you took the bait that's poor play. Stop lying to yourself or you will never get better at the game.
1 -
I can't even tell if you are being sarcastic. The games at red ranks are over within a few minutes, win or lose. There is a reason that 3/4 or 4/4 survivors in my red rank lobbies typically will have DS.
In a worst case scenario, it is a free extra life. In the best case scenario, you can use it to bully the killer. Why not run it? Even if you play like absolute trash you can get value out of it.

I made a thread about this a bit ago - if surv A saves Surv B while Surv C is hooked and D is Dead, I down A and hook them, B saves C, and then B saves A while I’m chasing them, all within 60 seconds...now I’m completely screwed. Can’t pick up B because DS hasn’t worn off, can’t go for A because probable BT, and C has officially vanished because I was trying not to tunnel them. Slug B and do a full chase with A, but then slug A top because they likely have DS since I actually am tunneling them? Now I’m slugging and drawing things out, giving them a chance to recover from what should have been a done game. There’s no “right” answer here.
1 -
"Free extra life"
Just. Slug. Them. Stop making excuses that you should be able to pick them up, go around and slug everyone. Killer can win games as quickly as survivors can do gens if you play like a scumbag. I get PLENTY of games of 4 stacks with 3-4 DS. Ask me how often I get hit by DS... VERY RARELY, almost every time is on purpose because the survivor is so eager to burn it with 4 gens left.
If you play like trash then it's not going to do much. I've seen many survivors use DS and get caught again 10 seconds later. Now there's nothing stopping the killer from just tunneling them again. If they use it early in the game, then they are probably going to die.
Where's that Doc meme when you need it?
Stop with this theory craft bull #########. There are a million scenarios you could give that favor either side in any which way you want. Fact is, if you find yourself in this position then you got outplayed. I would probably just hit the guy with BT so they have to waste time mending, then wait out the slug's DS. If there are only 3 gen, and 2 are incapacitated, then only 1 person can be doing gens. So unless you have 1 gen left, you can win in this situation.
Guys I play around DS all the ######### time at rank 1 as several different killers. IT IS NOT HARD TO BEAT. Seriously I'm literally getting headaches from the amount of bull ######### people spout about how DS is too strong. It's not if you change your tactics. Pretty simple. Stop being bots. I'm tired of being nice about it.
1 -
well i would like to eat the DS and then change my target to give more pressure or i can leave them and make 2 or more survivor not doing their objective
0 -
JUST SLUG when in many rank 1 lobbies there are 3+ unbreakables.
It doesn't matter how you argue that DS is a busted perk or not. It literally used to be a free extra hook state. There are maybe 1/10 survivor games where I can say "wow, DS really saved me there because the killer was tunneling me".
There are way more games where it is like "lol, im sitting in a locker and the killer 'found' me, get wrecked for 'tunneling' me"
DS used to be a free, paid DLC, life. It has moved on little from there.
4 -
Then they burn Unbreakable early. Change your build up to include some other perks to counter it like Deerstalker or Thana. Or don't slug survivors that weren't hooked in the last 60 seconds.
There are ways to play around both of these perks dude. Stop bitching about the perks and change your tactics.
1 -
You clearly don't play at red ranks if you are suggesting deerstalker as a counter to unbreakable. You can play absolutely perfect and the game is over in less than 4 minutes depending on what killer you chose.
"Burning unbreakable" means nothing if there are 3 of them in the lobby. Each unbreakable can reset the entire survivor team even if it takes the killer almost the entire game to achieve 3-4 man slugs.
What a joke. I already posted on these forums borderline perfect chases that end in 2-3+ gens completed when using the lesser powered killers at high ranks.
3 -
Is this just like a vent post? Because it just sounds like their perk worked as intended and you're mad about it. So?

Forum spazzed. Double post. See next comment...

4 DS's BTW, they barely got 2 gens done. PERFECT GAME AS LEGION. Don't people say he is the weakest killer all the time? The only one to DS me was Laurie and I let her because 2 were dead and the last was on death hook so I just let her do it because it didn't matter at that point.
Another game with 3 DS's. Damn near close to a perfect game. 3 gens left. I played super fair BTW. DID NOT GET HIT BY A SINGLE DS.
Trapper. Haddonfield. 2 DS. Yes one was green rank but they were 100% a 4 man SWF. 3 gens left, almost another perfect game.
Forever Freddy on corn, 3 DS, FOUR ######### GENS LEFT. But Forever Freddy isn't very strong, nope not at all.
Only 1 DS, but again Legion, they did 2 gens, 1 was after 2 were already dead and I was just kinda being chill and not giving a #########. Almost perfect game AGAIN.
PS these are only the clips on my profile and only since the last reset. I have maybe 50 more I never posted and hundreds more from over the last 2 years.
But yea, I don't play at red ranks at all nor do I ever deal with multiple DS.
Check yo self.
In case you want to see more of my clips.

In all seriousness - thana, sloppy and knockout are your friends at red ranks. I literally switch to BBQ, Thana, Sloppy and Knockout on all my M1 killers once I hit purple ranks.
1 -
Xbox is a joke compared to PC. When I switched to Xbox because I was annoyed at hackers I made it to red ranks within 2 weeks of playing killer. But then I went back to PC because I could not handle the lousy frame rates.
Legion is not the worst killer, not even close. It is probably a tie between pig or the demo.
1 -
Keep moving them goalposts.
My friend with 17k kills/6k hours on Xbox recently went to PC. He got to red ranks in 2 weeks with baby perks. He only sticks to Xbox because he doesn't like having to re-grind for all his #########. WHAT IS YOUR POINT SIR?!?

so if a perk is op you cant complain? Good logic there.
0 -
dont lie you ain't got friends.
0 -
Imagine not having a dedicated DS stopwatch. Couldn't be me
0 -
DS is not an anti-tunnel Perk.
And its funny how you start the Clip with saying how well the game is going for you - I guess, it was a 4K? With... let me guess again... 2 Gens left?
EDIT: Just checked it. 3K with 3 Gens left and a Hatch Escape. So pretty much a 4K if you would have slugged. The DS really ruined your game, i see.

I literally stated in my original comment that I was doing well and that it didn't change this game in particular - this doesn't mean it wouldn't be an issue in other games. As I also stated, I got hit with DS the other week after hooking somebody else, and 2 seconds after being hit with DS the survivor got adrenaline from the last gen having been completed.
0 -
And also to add to that, I never stated it was an anti-tunnel perk. I was addressing the survivors who use the excuse "just don't tunnel" when a killer gets hit with DS.
1 -
Did THAT particular Survivor say this?

dude i bet he wasn't even spooking survivors
