Overall, Naruto is a garbage anime series imo.
That said, the show had its moments. The Third Hokage vs Orochimaru is actually a decent fight.

The show is just overall really lame. Not enough serious moments and good writing.
Also, the whole chakra and jutsu power system seemed really silly at times. There were moments when I thought I was watching a cartoon instead of a shonen anime.
If Naruto ended right after the chunin exams, then my opinion would be different. But it didn't. The show continued and ultimately became an embarrassment. All the bad later episodes overshadowed the good early episodes.

I loved Naruto sans all the fillers.
Favorite Character: Itachi. He was just so bad ass, sucks that the plot required him to be ill and die. He should have just taken Sasuke's eyes for himself. Kakashi is a close second.
I really liked Orochimaaru when he was introduced, but his character got neutered later on and he was no longer the same for me.
Best fight scene for me was in Boruto where Naruto and Sasuke face up against Momoshiki. Too bad Boruto sucks.
