Is camping holding the game hostage

No. Holding the game hostage requires that there's no way for the game to end.

Survivor staying in a match hiding even tho they can leave or they can't leave is keeping the game hostage.
That's just an example btw

No - as it the idea is to get the kill.
Only way killer can hold the game hostage is if they got somebody cornered and don't let them leave the corner for longer than a Borrowed Time Cooldown. It's okay to pin somebody to wait out a Borrowed Time timer, but it's not okay to pin them then not let them leave for several minutes.

I would love to but they have apparently reported me to Xbox live and I told them it's not reportable and they responded with its what I sent to Microsoft. I aren't sure what that means. The way he said it and he has apparently exposed me on facebook.dannyfrog87 said:@douggie123 said:

I think you are worrying about it more than you should to be honest.

If you're an entitled survivor main, then yes it is holding the game hostage.
If you're a person who has common sense, then no it is not.2 -

Yup report them for it there harassing you and trying to shame and deface you for them being morons I've had games like that where I've hooked somone only to see 2-3 mates guarding him for q save so o chase them of hit wound nc slug get new hooks ######### like that would I be classed as a camper because they was stupid to not try to lure me away without the others hiding0

No. Mostly only survivors can hold the game hostage. For killer it would be when you stand in the middle of the basement stairs while survivors are downstairs, bodyblocking and refusing to hit them or move so they can't leave. Camping is not a part of it.

So what I do when winding up a throw at the stairs to teach them a lesson if playing huntress and they basment hook or go down be ready for her to show up0

If you have proofs of them following you onto facebook to harass or do anything - you can report it to DBD (lol), facebook and even police for stalking. If you have proofs of threats, they can get real sentence.
Also, Microsoft/sony are not lenient on banning people permanently, so if they messaged you inappropriate content, or threats, report it to Microsoft/Sony. In cases I had, Sony "took action" on the offenders (send me, "your report is deemed proper and actions have been taken" or smth along the lines).0 -

The second time I reported someone, I saved a link to their profile and waited for the message to arrive. I checked their profile, and they've done nothing. That message is to appease people who think nothing's being done unless they get a message saying something's being done; it doesn't actually mean they did anything.

No. Camping isn't reportable. However, if someone takes video of you camping them in multiple games, the dev MIGHT consider it griefing.. but you getting a ban for it is doubtful.
I haven't even seen them do anything to killers who 4man slug then AFK(ive reported with video and kept a list to watch for. Nothing has been done). you have to have obvious intent AND they have to have plenty of Video proof to prove youre griefing/hold hostage the match to get any sort of ban.
While its a scum bag thing to do, esp someone who hasn't done anything in match, keep on truckin. Just don't be surprised if someone tells you to get hit by a bus if they got 1k bp and depipped because you camped them lol

IF someone suggests that to you in the future...
The Developers only consider actions that would stop the game from progressing that lasted over 20 minutes. So camping would never do that. So unless you did something that basically paused the progression of the game for 20 minutes for one survivor, then you haven't held the game hostage.
The person reporting would also need to record video evidence of it, a 20 minute + video. Upload it to something like youtube... then use that end game reporting tool to report you. Usually people aren't recording the match. Some are, but I feel most don't.
Tell them in chat.. have fun with that and laugh.. then leave.
