I can't win.
I am a rank 7 trapper main, the only teachable perks I own are : Trapper's perks and Discordance. I keep losing and I don't know if its because I'm bad or the other team is just way better. Last game I got 3 rank 1's (spoiler : I lost). Do I need to wait for the matchmaking update to play the game again or do I need to get better ?
It has become scary playing killer, I get scared that some really good SWFs will come and ruin the game for me. I really love this game, especially playing killer but I either get 2 pips in row in 3 matches or I just lose 6 pips in a row in 6 matches. I really don't know what to do.

At the start i would suggest focussing on the chasing and killee power and kind of forget about winning for now
Search "how to run tiles in dbd" and just try to end chases faster. Slowly but surelly wins will start coming more and more.
In general don't go into a match expecting to win. Go into a match expecting to improve your play.
Also try to play survivor too even if just a little. Seeing what other killers do can help you get better.

If you have 5 bucks to spare or 9k shards, get plague, get both corrupt intervension and infectious fright, corrupt will help you early game to set up traps around and infectious will help you when you down someone and know if someone is there or not.
I can't really give that many tips about trapper (I'm not a great trapper just decent) watch Otzdarva on YT, he is a trapper main, look at the way he preps his traps.

It’s not that you’re bad, it’s just bad matchmaking and you probably don’t have enough experience.
Trapper also needs a buff. It is ridiculous that he needs to travel all over the map just to get to his traps. His base trap carry amount needs to be increased and he needs to start with more traps.
You also need to learn where to place traps that Survivors wouldn’t expect. Placing traps at pallets is super obvious. Most Survivors expect it and will avoid them, or know to walk right past it if you left a big enough gap.
Also, every killer suffers against red rank Survivors. I recommend you get your Hag leveled up in order to unlock Devour Hope and Ruin. With Trapper, you can protect those two hexes as long as they spawn in good corners.

Yeah watch Otz as he gives some great Trapper tips since Trapper is his main killer. That being said, matchmaking is completely screwed up right now. All day yesterday I kept getting matched up with purple and red rank survivors despite being a level 13 killer. I was getting matched with people far more experienced than me which should never happen in a PvP game.

You're welcome. Trapper is loads of fun when he snowballs, but against a super well coordinated swf death squad, he really becomes weak. If you suspect them being a swf in the lobby, I recommend that you equip the Bloody Coil add-on. It injures anyone who disarms your traps, so it will waste their time healing or they will opt to play injured. If you manage to get them in the basement, it will make it hell for the rescuer to save them, since they risk getting injured by the bloody coil if they disarm the trap ,making it easier for you to down them when you head back. If you're lucky enough to have the basement in the shack and trap all the entrances, you will have a very easy time, just expect lots and lots of salt.

Sounds like you need to expand your perk pool a bit more.
Unfortunatley for killers, they kinda rely on each others teachable perks. It does feel like you need either Hex: Ruin or Pop Goes the Weasel to slow survivors from completing their objective too quickly.

Getting up closer to red ranks is a sweat fest, if you are devoted to Trapper, Corrupt Intervention and Ruin are essential at those ranks, red ranks is a complete 'if I don't find Survivors 30 seconds in the game, I lose 3 gens'.
